Good Morning I am popping in real quick to say "hi" and give an update. I was at 160 even today and start my PI tomorrow while I do a quick trip to Palm Desert and will be back on Monday. I will use the PI to just get my half and half fix and my new injections come from Diet Doc in a few days.

I got the body fat scale that Leez recommended and it has me at 15.8% body fat and I don't know if that is good or bad. I have been doing pilates for close to three years and have not been on my spin bike in over a month but I don't think I am losing muscle. Ideally I want to get down to 150lbs where I am really tiny for me as I am 5'7" and 47 years old. I just don't want to look gaunt or saggy, lol.

I am pretty hungry today and am at 48 hours so I still have to do 500 calories but might bump it up to 800 and just get more protein. I have not been cooking much and just doing lettuce, tomatoes and a protein so I am ready to get creative again when I return and things are a bit more normal. I still have a lot of setting up to do in the new home and a remodel to manage in one bathroom but that part excites me so I will focus on that.

If you have done a PI in the past will you tell me what you ate (I know it's p3) and how it went. Thank you and welcome to the familiar faces. It seems like we always circle back at the same Tims as we know this program works and is tried and true!

    Have a great day,

    Charlie

Back after my planned interruption without too much damage. I had a bit of gain from traveling and not drinking enough water but that is off and back on the downward track. 14.4# after 23 vlcd, I'll take it!

Charlie ~ I too am 5'7" and my comfy spot is 150. I hope to get close with a long round but know that's a big goal for a 57 yo menopausal woman LOL. Here's to being big losers!

On my PI I ate lots of veggies, salmon, bunless beef burgers, porkchops and indulged in a couple beverages knowing I would gain

    Good Morning,

I also post in Lovely Losers. It is a very nice group and you can post there no matter what your stage. Sometimes the seasoned folks will chime in too.

I also have a detox headache. I know it will pass. My eating was so off prior to starting a round that I am not surprised. Knowing the round was coming I ate too much sweets and ice cream.

Somehow this diet makes me thirsty, so I am very careful to add some sea salt (and I never add salt to anything, off the diet it really makes me bloat). The other thing I add is a Potassium pill every other day. BUT I like the idea from Gz9 to add a cup of broth to breakfast. I may try that thanks. I also take a multivitamin and 2 Kirkland calcium pills a day, Vitamin D,(I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis) and Magnesium and Vitamin C with dinner. Also a probiotic... If that helps anyone.

I don't seem to be affected by carb counting or salt on this diet. I have an apple usually every day with no ill effects. I have tried no apples on this diet and did not see any change in my results of course YMMV.

I am the queen of the PI ha ha. I always take them. I think it helps my losses to take a break. IN a PI I Try to eat P3, but honestly that often does not happen. Once I had to judge a baking contest on a PI....

I feel for not liking fish. How do you feel about shrimp? I usually try some of the recipes listed here, but honestly I just enjoy not being hungry and not thinking about food. I probably do way too much chicken and shrimp on this diet.

Today I P2D4. Down 5.5 lbs. I love week one!!!! I worked really hard yesterday so today I am tired. Still going to get in a lot of walking because that always helps me.

Leez if you are out there Hugs! I Hope you are doing great!

    Have a great day everyone!

I am not a huge fan of shrimp. I do like Lobster and Crab but I like them dipped in salted butter so it's not the same without that. Lobster and crab are both ridiculously expensive so I did grab some shrimp just in case I need a change. I mostly do various types of lean beef and every now and again I have eggs for breakfast. Most rounds I get to the point of only eating the fruit because the thought of one more bite of meat makes me feel ill. *sigh* Last night I made a strawberry smoothie with a little pure vanilla and it was actually pretty good. I love slicing up and apple, throwing some cinnamon on it and microwaving for a minute-tastes like apple crisp and is just the sweet treat you need. I use Lawry's normally on meats so last night I made a Lawry's copycat recipe minius the cornstarch and sugar and that seems to be pretty tasty.

Speaking of sweet, @Leez, can you share what kind of Stevia you use that does not have any aftertaste? I can't stand Stevia for that exact reason. It reminds me of the Nutrasweet aftertaste when I was a kid. I saw you mention in another thread that you finally found one without an aftertaste. TIA!

Also: have you been tested for insulin resistance?

I gained 50+ lbs weight due to pre-Type 2 diabetic insulin resistance. I used my first round of hcg to transition to a ketogenic diet in 2017, and have kept the majority of the weight off with annual vanity rounds.
I was tested for insulin and, like every other test they did, normal. I did learn that spending 6+ years on a PPI wreaked havok on my digestive system (likely causing many the health issues I had the last 7 years) so I stopped those last year and most things went back to normal. This weight just hasn't been one of them. It just loves me so much it doesn't want to leave me. LOL

Please be careful about taking calcium supplements. Also, with D3 supplementation you should be taking vitamin K2. For potassium, I use Lite Salt which is 50% Sodium Chloride and 50% Potassium Chloride.

Insulin resistance isn't the same as a glucose tolerance test. You can have insulin resistance for 10 or more years before having high A1c. Here's a fairly brief explanation.
    https://my.clevelandclinic.org/healt...lin-resistance

Basically, a person like me, pre-type 2 diabetic, produces more insulin than other people do. This leads to an increase in fat storage. My only way to combat this, is to reduce the carbs and increase the fats I eat. I have been eating a ketogenic diet for 5 years now.

    Good morning!
I had a nice detox bath last night, just what I needed after a stressful week at work.
Plugging along in my fairly boring life of get up, go to work, come home, watch TV, go to bed, repeat.
The thing I like about this protocol is it gets me back on track with healthful food choices and a much better feeling of wellness, if that makes sense. I know how much better I feel when I'm eating well and keeping my weight at a healthy spot for me but it seems I allow stressful circumstances to trigger wrong choices in food and then it's Katie bar the door with maderation out the window.
I'm hoping to have stronger resolve now that I've got grandkids and need to be healthy to keep up with them...

    Enough of that!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hot baths are also a great help to break a stall.
