Unhappy Stalled in day 10 - help please

Hi - This is my 3rd round of HCG and I'm experiencing what is now a 3 day stall. I've lost 7 pounds so far but have never experienced a stall so early in my round. I take 150 UI injections and have decided to skip today's dose. No hunger so far but just wondering your thoughts. I'm a bit frustrated....

Most people run into the dreaded week 2 slowdown. It's perfectly normal.

You are not actually in a stall until you've gone 4 days with no losses. And even then stalls of 10 days are not uncommon. I'd just wait it out. When you get periods of no losses, stuff is still happening at the cellular level. Your body temporarily replaces used fat with water. When the water finally releases, that is when you see the fat loss on the scale.

If you experience no change in your hunger levels in the evening of your skip day, you should not change your dose.whoosh.jpg

Leez, thank you. I'm not experiencing any hunger so I will follow your advice and remain on 150. I've been quite cold today so I'm hoping that is a sign that I will see a loss on the scale tomorrow. Fingers crossed....

Being super-chilled is a good sign the HCG is working. The other thing I noticed is that on the evening before a loss, I would generally get a really "empty" feeling. Not hunger at all, just empty.

Well I lost a whopping .8 today - Geesh! Day 11 - 7.8 pound loss. At least it's a loss so I'll take it........this is the toughest round for me mentally thus far but I have noticed a reduction in inches. I wonder if being in menopause has something to do with it?
The struggle is real and continues........

This is the strangest round I have ever had on the HCG diet protocol. I lost my load weight (7 pounds) but since then I have continued to stay at the same weight losing and gaining the same pound over and over again. I'm on P2D21 and in the past at this point I would have been down by at least 11 - 12 lbs but not this time. I have lost inches though, 2 from my waist, 2 from my hips and 1 from my arms. I've gotten used to being discouraged about the lack of pounds lost but will keep moving forward to complete this round. I'm ending at day 28. I'm tired of the mental roller coaster with the scale........

Hi Jackson. We are in the same boat. I was just about to post on here to whine, when I saw your post. LOL. Today is P2D14 for me and, including load weight, I have dropped a whopping 4.3 pounds. Load weight was only .6 pounds, but sheesh. In my first round, I wasn't able to weigh every day, but lost 22 pounds over 30 days. That said, I did REALLY well in P3 and P4 and actually lost another pound. Also, I remember weighing about 150 for a long time, so maybe my body remembers that set point and wants to stay there... IDK. I am also losing inches and am very happy about the new shape I am taking.

Maybe you are at a weight now that you have been before? If so, it should be easy for you to stabilize in P3/P4. I am not an expert by any means, just a fellow "loser". And, I am also freezing, which I hear is a sign that the HCG is working - yay!

Hang in there. This works. We can do this!

Thanks, Linderlou. Yes, I'm at a set weight point that my body has LOVED for years (180) but I was really hoping to get into the 170's this time around. I'm happy with the inches lost and my inner voice reminded me this morning that it's not what the scale says but rather how your clothes feel and this is true. I've been able to fit in some clothes very comfortably that were previously tight so I'm happy about that.

I've been thinking about what I'm going to do in P3 and have decided that it will be moderate fat and low to no carbs so maybe I'll be able to shed some additional weight then.

Best wishes for your success and thank you for the encouragement - it's appreciated!

Well, that explains a LOT then. Your body wants to stay at 180! I was very fortunate that I ended my first round about 1 pound over my set point. During P3, I did not try to lose more weight and didn't do any correction days. I was also fortunate that in my ignorance, I added back mayo, eggs, cottage cheese, butter and hwc all in a couple of days because I didn't know any better. I didn't have a gain, so I guess I "passed" the dairy test (some people are not so lucky). At first it was hard to get my calories up to 1500 to 1700 (you get so programmed in P2...) so I started adding mayo to everything. That did the trick. I stayed very clear of carbs & starches. When I transitioned into P4, I decided that I would add back some new foods that I really, really want to keep in my life. Nothing real starchy, but maybe more carbs than I had been eating before. I had some almonds, and that was OK. Next I added in SF Peanut Butter - bang, 2.5 pound gain! Bummer... But, my point to you is that after that gain, I just went back to what I had been eating that was working, and those 2.5 pounds came off in 3 days while still eating 1500 calories a day. I tried again a week later with a 1.5 gain that again came off in 3 days, and by then I was done with P4 about a pound below LDW.

So, for me, keeping the fats up in P3/P4 kept me from being hungry, kept my body from going into starvation mode, and kept me satisfied with the foods I was eating. I didn't feel deprived at all and was never hungry unless it was mealtime. Additionally, there was a WHOLE lot of reshaping that took place during P3, so clothing wise, I actually had to dig out a smaller pants size and my DH banned me from wearing my old comfortable XL and 1X tops because they looked like I was wearing a sack ;-) So I had to shop for a few intermediate shirts to wear.

My point is, you may want to revisit your P3 plan of losing more rather than stabilizing. For me, testing and learning what foods are friendly foods vs. unfriendly foods was the most valuable lesson. Also, it is really comforting to know that if the scale jumps up one morning, you just have to stick with your friendly foods to get it back down in a couple of days. I didn't set a number goal for the first round or this round, only that I end the round with a lower number than I started. My body is teaching me what IT wants, which may or may not match what I want, but it's in charge.

Best wishes for your success too!
