Thread: Back again and I'm sorry...

    Loading Weights

    1st Day - 127.5kg/ 280.5lbs
    2nd Day 127kg/ 279.4lbs

    1st Day Phase 2 - 128.8kg/ 283.36lbs

My loading days went pretty well, I didn't actually enjoy them as much as I hoped. I mainly stuck to bacon, eggs, sausages, good cheese. It was all very simple food as I really didn't have the time to cook decadent meals (was working long hours both days). I used duck fat and coconut oil to cook in which was a really nice treat as especially the duck fat is truely yummy. I indulged in some good quality burgers and fried chicken. Enjoyed a good amount of red wine.

Day 2 I woke up feeling not that great so did not have as much day 2. But I feel I managed to load enough to keep me from going off the rails. My gain was minimal 1.3kg.

I am currently heading into the eve of day 1 of phase 2. I've been doing house work and odd jobs to keep myself busy. I'm keeping my food very simple, I've stuck to boiling most proteins and am not adding any extras to my veggies. As a chef I've found the more flavour I have the more it activates my taste buds and seems to make me crave more. I'll be sticking to Chicken, Fish and Prawns for most of the diet. I do however plan on adding eggs at a later stage (more just as a treat). I'll also be only having my grissini when I feel the need (more on days when I have extra physical activity).

With regards to exercise, I'll be doing my reformer pilates once a week and plan on walking every morning (nothing strenuous).

I'm tracking my basic measurements and will post these soon.

Finally, I am lucky enough to have no family commitments or events in the next 40 days so its a home run in terms of having to deal with interruptions. I've also added extra shifts to my roster at work so I'm able to keep focused and not have 'time' to deviate from protocal!

    Onward and upward,

    Roscoe

    Hey HCG Fam, Day 3.

    Weight: 124.3kg/ 273.46lbs

Feeling pretty good the first few days, minor hunger day 2. Am happy with the progress thus far but can’t get to over excited. Still 40 days to go. I’m not sure what it is but I’m feeling a lot better going into this round.

I think part of this is the scare factor as putting back all the weight I lost last year really made me upset. So I don’t want the cycle to perpetuate. I’ve attached my measurements. I’m planning on doing these weekly and then on phase 3 monthly.

@mrsstrong How are you doing on your first couple of days?

Good for you for taking measurements too! It can be so helpful when the weight is not budging.

I am doing well! Just day 2 for me. It's been super hot and it puts food thoughts in the back of my mind so that helps. I expect to need to adjust my drops as I usually need to after the first few days but so far so good.

welcome back and no need to apologize. We have all been in the same boat. It happens. Don't beat yourself up and move forward. Sounds like you are in a good frame of mind and should do very well in this round. My only advise is to really attack the phase 3 of this round as hard as you are phase 2.

Thanks for your words of advice, Wilson Black! I so enjoyed reading your experiences on the Men's Den.

    Day 4: 123.5kg/ 271.7lbs
Day 5: 123.7kg/ 272.14lbs - Not sure what happend here!
    Day 6:Weight 122.1kg/ 268.68lbs

So far, so good. Had a random 0.2g gain on Day 5, which left me slightly puzzled, but after some thought I believe it may have been the BM factor as the the next day I experienced a solid loss. Its funny how these small things can affect you. I assured myself that I would not let it affect my day.

I've been sticking with the Original Protocol for all of my foods, I know there are new ways and options but I feel comfortable with the foods I'm eating. Hunger is very minimal and I'm not finding the cravings to be too strong. However I did deliver some thai food last night and it did smell amazing. I've been keeping focused with listening to HCG Chicka's podcast and here interviews with real people who have done the diet. Well worth the listen.

I have been sleeping very soundly, and have been even going to bed before 11pm (a rarity for me!) Overall I'm actually feeling exceptional. Need to make sure I keep this positive attitude when the losses slow down. I'm forecasting that Between day's 15 -18 is normally when I struggle a fair bit. I have never gone past the 21 days so that will be my first hurdle. Once again I'm so happy that I have this forum and my social calendar is completely empty (haha) I tend to do much better when I just don't tempt myself with something like not going to a wine and cheese evening!

    Onward and upward,

    Ross

Thanks for the kind words, Gastro. Sounds like you are doing well. From the sounds of it your mind is in a great place so you should do well. Now it all boils down to what your body is going to give up. Who knows what happened on your day 5 but you made up for it day 6. I never sweat a single day weight and focus more on trends. You are doing great! I will be hanging in

This protocol doesn’t mix well at all with any sort of social calendar. Basically you head off to the monastery for a month and emerge a better you.

    Day 9!!

    Weights

    Day 7 - 121.4kg/ 267.08lbs
    Day 8 - 121.8kg/ 267.96lbs - BM Factor
    Day 9 - 120.8kg/ 265.76lbs

NB: Have averaged 0.88kg/ 1.93lbs per day.

Roscoe here, checking in. I'm now in what I call the 'thick of it'. My losses have continued nicely with only one day where I was UP but I 100% know that this was a BM factor and I ended up having a grapefruit too late at night. It seemed to bloat me, so now its on the reconsider list. It also gave me horrible heart burn. Even on the limited ingredients I am consuming I still am noting anything that seems to upset my stomach and/ or gives me an adverse reaction.

I am taking a little bit longer to get under 120kg/ 264lbs than expected, but as I did note above my losses are pretty much in par with what to expect and I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. My flat mates were a touch concerned because I hadn't been cooking in the kitchen or snacking late into the night. I assured them that I was still living and just making positive changes to get me to a healthier place. Thankfully they understand, but I didn't go deep into the diet. I find it only raises more questions and the only thing that matters is that it works for me.

With the great influence of this forum, podcasts and the previous experiences...I have really been using my extra time to really explore how I got here and what factors and points really buggered things up in terms of losing and maintaining my weight. I believe this is important as their were certain dates where yes I indulged, but it was about how I responded to that indulging that was the important part. It all comes back to having a plan in place so you can respond to a bad day at work or an untimely death of a family member (god forbid). I think back to my Uncle's passing last year and I was at a comfortable 109kg...ish, but was in a good space. I had a few days where I enjoyed some great food, but instead of committing to a few weeks of clean eating I did keep going....because I didn't have a plan in place. I promise I'm not beating myself up but I do believe it is good to understand what went wrong and how you can adapt to challenges that present themselves to you...

I hope I made some form of sense!

    Onward and upward,

    Roscoe

Great work! And yes, so important to understand our pitfalls and have a plan. Makes complete sense.

    Day 10 - 120.2kg/ 264.64lbs

A bit of a rough day today. Still not under that 120kg mark and although I'm trying not to let it get me down...it is. Cravings are bad, so have just been ensuring I try to stay hydrated as much as possible. Had a mild accident with my HCG and knocked half the bottle over. No stress, have ordered more . I think part of me is regretting doing such an intense workout at reformer pilates yesterday. I have the most amazing instructor, but I think I went way too far. May think about adjusting my dose a little. On the up side certainly losing inches as I can feel my legs and arms getting smaller.

    Anyway...rant over, onward and upward

Posting updates a tad more frequently as they do help me keep accountable and I like using this forum as a Diary.

    Day 11

    Weight 120.7kg/ 265.64lbs

Up 500gm this morning. Did the dirty and cheated yesterday afternoon. I won’t go in to the gory details but thankfully I didn’t take it too much further. All I can say is don’t let out of town family members push you into eating something you don’t want to (a point to work on in phase 3). Upon reflection I should have just cancelled but family…

I also did note that I was particularly thirsty around the time so despite it being winter I need to keep my hydration up.

On a happier note, I’m definitely losing inches my bust, waist and even calves are looking so much smaller. My stomach has also reduced to the point where t shirts are fitting again. I see why they call it pounds AND INCHES Back again and I'm sorry....

Anyway made a promise to myself last night not to let these days define me. I remembered to be grateful and respect the process. 29 days to go or to look at it as a positive…29 days of health and happiness building.

I gained a pound after some off protocol eating on Monday when we had a friend over. Happy it is off again, which was quicker than expected. But yeah, I hear you on the pressures of eating when there is a crowd. It is easier to navigate in P3 and P4 for sure.

Btw, I kept reshaping well into P3 and the first weeks of P4 last round. Not losing weight but my body started looking differently. People didn't notice the weight loss until the end of my P3! So, even when done with pounds and inches, this protocol keeps on giving!

Where are you in the world?
