Thread: Back again and I'm sorry...

Oh that’s so reassuring to hear mrsstrong. It’s amazing how it all works. Thanks for sharing your off protocol moment too. I’m glad you’re back on track too Back again and I'm sorry....

I’m in New Zealand in a City called Palmerston North. What about yourself?

Frustrated is my word for today. Used the last of my HCG and the replacement was supposed to be here yesterday. Not panicking yet, but will keep the idea of having to transition and eat P3 style until it arrives. I think this is all exasperated by just stupid little things that keep popping up. Why do friends and family have to stick their nose in when my weight or how I manage it are none of their business!! I’m so thankful I have this forum. I really do appreciate having a SAFE place to share.

    Flatlining, but onwards,

    Roscoe.

Update: HCG arrived. I got pellets this time around. They’re so much easier and can split them up so keep them handy in the car if I’m on the go. In New Zealand I don’t think we have anyone who does the injections but honestly if I ever get the chance I’ll try them.

    Day 13

    Weight 118.8kg/ 261.36lbs

    Down 10kg/ 22lbs post loading

Alrighty, so after a bit of a rocky week Ive managed to finally get into the Under 120kg area. I measured myself this morning and will post these soon. I can 100% tell that my body is starting to really work now. I even tried on some old clothes that I have and they're fitting better. Not getting to overzealous yet, but it is comforting. I've made a firm promise to myself that any clothes at the end of the year that don't fit (even if I one day might) will be donated to the op shop. As lovely as they are I shouldn't really keep holding on to them as they won't do anything for me. I need to make sure I'm happy with where my body ends up sitting whatever that may be.

I'm on a bit of a mission to prepare for after the diet, one of my big factors is potenial loose skin. Thankfully I'm still pretty young at 29, but I've already started thinking about getting a personal trainer to keep me motivated and also work on strength training to tone and build muscle. Watch this space.

I'll be formulating some meal plans on my days off next week for P3 and beyond...I may have meantioned above that I intend to stay Dairy Free, Low Carb and just not have sugar. I do find that particularly bread, pasta and any form of dairy will give me gut ache and I believe for long term sucess I will just need to avoid these products. I know life won't always be perfect, but I cannot and will not keep yo-yoing. It just isn't healthy.

    Onward and upward...

Gastro, I've been off the forums last week because of family in town--know it is difficult with company around. But sounds like you are determined. Main thing is to not give up. And doing this for your health is the most important reason to do it. Like mrsstrong said, the shaping that goes on when in P3 is significant. I believe that is when most reshaping goes on, and in P4 as well. I'm in day 20, of a p4, and I weekly seem to feel smaller. It's a pleasant surprise. And I find I can eat quite a lot--as long as I stay away from sugars and processed starches. Tho I do eat a few sugars, like my birthday cake--but only on special occassions. You will get there too, in time. mrsstrong and I have been going at this journey since the first of the year. It takes time and committment. And oh my, how much better we feel. Keep up your good work, keep the faith and confidence that the protocols work if you work the program! Like you said, and Polly--another Hcger says ONWARD!

Thank you so much for your wonderful motivational speech! Dubbles Back again and I'm sorry...I will keep the P3 factor for reshaping in mind. I like to think that there must be quite a bit going on inside my body because I definitely don’t have the same rolls that I did when I started! I love hearing stories like yours because it reminds me of the long game.

    I’m on day 14

    Weight: 119.6kg/ 263.12lbs

    + 0.8g

I think I’m retaining water Back again and I'm sorry.... Didn’t drink enough yesterday. Also BM wasn’t that pleasant. Have made the executive decision to remove the grissini. I think it was more a mental factor and didn’t really contribute to anything else. Taking it day by day. Working very hard not to let these days get me down…as I did note in an above post these are often my most challenging days.

    Day 15

    Weight: 119.3kg/ 262.46lbs

Alrighty so I’ve discovered some home truths this past week.

    1. I need to drink more water, I’m becoming dehydrated, this making me mentally hungry and physically I think it may be dragging me down a little.

    2. Sometimes it’s just better to go to sleep.

    3. This week is a new week, I can’t change the past so I’ll respect it and focus on the coming weeks.

I know there may not be physical evidence to back this up but I swear the further I get on this protocol the more I feel a bit crazy. Not like a bad crazy but just a little more snappy than usual? Men-have you felt this?

Anyway, even though I said I wouldn’t I’m setting a target for this round. As the weeks roll on I feel like having a goal will help me along.

GOAL FOR THIS ROUND: 109kg/ 239.8lbs

I feel this is achievable as Long as I stay focused. Still intending to complete the 40 days. I’ll be visiting family that weekend so it will be very enjoyable to show off a little bit. I’m lucky to be blessed with a mostly supportive and health conscious family unit so eating P3 shouldn’t be an issue.

One last thing, if anyone reading or following has any questions or would like to know more please message…I am by no means an expert but can definitely help from a guys perspective and what has worked for me.

    Onwards & Upwards,

    Roscoe

Water is so important because aside from hydration, it is needed to flush the fat that is being released! I also like to add electrolytes or some Real Salt™ to my water as I feel better hydrated when I do.

Yes, sleep! We do so much during that time. I always think of weightloss as healing and we heal when we sleep!

Not a guy, but well considering this is a hormonal program, mmm, you may quite possibly be feeling it in the mood area! Welcome to our world LOL Be kind to your lady friends!

I hear you on the mental factor of the grissini! I added it because the crunch factor is so nice and I have no gluten issues but it is easy to grab an extra one and that is the exact habit I want to break. In P3 nuts have the same function for me so I am not adding them till much later but I am giving myself a little leeway in P2.

Onward as you say! Keep goign and trust the process. This protocol is not about loss only!

    Day 17

    Weight: 118.4kg/ 260.48lbs

This week has been much smoother. I think I'm finally out of the weeds in terms of cravings and feeling sluggish. As noted above Back again and I'm sorry... I have decided to leave past decisions in the past. But always remembering them and understanding why they happened.

I currently have a good few weeks to go on the diet, I have removed the grissini and I have also cut out the second fruit. I'm only having 1 apple Back again and I'm sorry... to start my day (around 10am). Furthermore I haven't been eating past 6pm.

An unexpected consequence of this diet has been the formation of new and improved habits. These are

    1. Less trips to the supermarket (more focused and direct purchasing)
    2. Not having wine every night (saving it for special occasions)
    3. Not eating in my car Back again and I'm sorry...
    4. Not entirely unexpected, but retraining my stomach and understanding that I actually don't need as much food Back again and I'm sorry... as I used to enjoy.
    5. Understanding my emotions and how they affect my decisions with relationship food.

These new habits are still in the formation stage, but they're adding so much to my happiness and I know they're healthier for me. The long game right now is so much more important than what happens in the short term. I know that what I do every day is more important than once a week!

    Onward and upward,

    Roscoe

Developing new, healthy habits is really cool. Indeed, in 99% of cases, the cause of excess weight is a combination of physical inactivity with overeating.
