Thread: Back again and I'm sorry...

    Day 27

    Weight: 117.1kg/ 257.62lbs

SooÖstill up 1.6kg after my cheat. Totally expected. Didnít feel great all of yesterday. Really bloated and just tired. I started getting a little angry about my friends visit but then I remembered I chose to go out to dinner. ACCOUNTABILITY.

Iíve got 13 days left including the 3 days without the pellets. My intention is to make it the best 13 days possible. Iíll be stopping my pellets the following Tuesday. Then 3 days without and then the magic P3. Despite my set backs this round Iím still hoping to reach my goal of 109kg. Not a bad goal but definitely one that needs a bit of a push.

I have started planning my second round this will take place in early September.

    Onwards, and upwards,

    Roscoe.

    Day 28

    Weight: 116kg/ 255.2lbs

Feeling much better today, pretty much on the home stretch and almost under that magic 115kg. Iíve made an executive decision to stop my pellets this coming Sunday and then do the 72 hours without HCG. I was going to do an extra 3 days and then stop Back again and I'm sorry... but I am going away that weekend and really donít want to risk being too unstable weight wise, especially for the first couple of days.

Since this is my final week itís going to be POP all through. Really trying to maximise my losses. However at the same time. Iím really happy with what Iíve accomplished and compared to where I was at the beginning at 128.8kg this is definitely a significant change.

    Onward and upward,

    Roscoe

    Day 29

    Weight: 115.1kg/ 253.22lbs

Absolutely buggered from this mornings workout at Pilates. Our instructor really pushed us hard. Feeling a little ready to finish up this round. My body is definitely thankful for the weight Iíve lost and I am looking so much better than I did 29 days ago. My clothes feel lighter and Iíve been able to fit back into some of my clothes that havenít fitted in years.

I may possibly call this a PI and go back to P2 after my weekend away for a further 10 days to see if I can get to my goal. I will just see how things play out though. At the same time I may also just take a break and attack another round in September. Watch this spaceÖ

I know I keep going back to this, but I canít believe how much this round has done for me. Although Iíve still got a long way to go I feel so much stronger and resilient to confront any emotional issues that may prevent me from stabilising for the long term. This was such a good head start.

Ive also started jotting down meal plans for P3. Iíll share these soon but as Iíve said beforeÖtheyíll be kept simple!

    Onwards & Upwards,

    Roscoe.

    Day 30

    Weight: 113.9kg/ 250.58lbs

Woke up to a WOOOOSSSHHH this morning 1.2kg/ 2.64lbs Lost. I won't lie I was pretty excited to see the scales at a number under 115kg. Its funny but even my body looked much slimmer, and everything didn't seem to jiggle as much!

I was intending to actually stop my round here and do a PI for 2 weeks however I have made the executive decision to keep going and aim for my original goal. My mindset is pretty much, I'm already here. I'm not hungry. I've got the HCG to finish the round so why not keep on going...especially if I can make it to under 110kg/ 242lbs. I don't want to push myself too far but at the same time, I feel like I will thank myself for going that extra mile to get my weight down that little bit extra.

Below you'll find a P3 plan for my first week I have included some Optifast shakes which is a weight loss plan here in NZ. They've got solid macros and nutrients, its an easy meal recplacement for breakfast so I'll still be getting my calories in. I've already started some receipes in the slow cooker which I'll pop in the freezer to make life easier. You'll also see below I've added some keto style stuff like the bacon wrapped meat loaf. I'm not going for strictly keto, but like the concept.

    Sunday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
L - Marinated Steak (slow cooker), Chimichurri & Cauliflower Rice
D - Chicken Thighs, Jalapenos, Lettuce, Red Onion Cabbage, Nuts, Coconut Yogurt and Olive Oil
    Monday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
L - Chicken Thighs, Jalapenos, Lettuce, Red Onion Cabbage, Nuts, Coconut Yogurt and Olive Oil
D - Taco's with Lettuce Cups (Mince - set aside meat balls and freeze for easy meal prep next time)
    Tuesday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
L - Marinated Steak (slow cooker), Chimichurri & Cauliflower Rice
D - Bacon Wrapped Meat loaf with Brocolli and tomato salsa.
    Wednesday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
L - Marinated Steak (slow cooker), Chimichurri & Cauliflower Rice
D - Tuna salad and lettuce cups
    Thursday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
L - Tuna salad and lettuce cups
    D - Keto Frittata
    Friday
B - Opti Fast Shake with Cashew Nut Milk
    L - Keto Frittata
    D - Prawn Curry

    Day 31

    Weight: 000

Got the first whipping of jealously coming through today...I was really excited by my 15kg loss (well 14.9kg, but close enough) and I was excited to tell my flat mate about it. She got very nasty very quickly saying its because I wasn't eating right and not having breakfast etc...It hurt just a little bit because I've worked hard on this diet and all I wanted was to share some good news. I did fire back and she backed off a little bit, but it was still quite tense. She has her own issues with weight so possibly I touched a nerve of hers. Anyway, you can't change people, you can only change yourself...I hate how people can't be happy for others, I so wish this diet was not so wildly chastised so it could be shared easier.

I guess a lesson has been learnt...don't share...I've had this lesson a few times, but it hurts everytime.

Anyway, I have almost finished my meal plan and shopping list for P3. I will be meal prepping Tuesday afternoon so that will exciting.

    Signing off, a little deflated...

Day 32...Pumped up and feeling better

    Day 32

    Weight: 114.2kg/ 251.24lbs

Up slightly today, had a glass of wine last night with a friend who unexpectedly was in town. Wasn't in the greatest head space after a nasty comment from a friend regarding my weight loss, but we shall put that aside and today is a new day.

I'm on track to lose the standard amount of weight for a male on a 40 day round. I'm fast approaching P3 and honestly I'm a bit more nervous than I expected. I think its due to the importance I'm placing on getting to goal. I'm doing some personal development thinking today and am writing 12 personal commandments...this comes from Gretchen Rubin. One will 100% be something to do with monitoring. Monitoring (although at times is painful, it does help with keeping on track) I believe is the corner stone to long term success.

I should note as well. I am doing the pellets as the injections are not available in NZ. I have not had much hunger on them and the cravings have been reasonably controlled apart from one or two days where they drove me crazy. On days where my hunger or cravings were giving me grief I did have an extra 3 pellets around 4pm and this seemed to help greatly. I have also had an extra grapefruit some days. I wouldn't advise this for everyone, but it hasn't affected my losses. After day 21 I also included eggs every couple of days. I started to have a rather uncomfortable food adversion to prawns and fish. I stay away from red meat as I always stall on it.

Almost at the finish line...for the first race

    Onwards and upwards,

    Roscoe.

    Time to finish Act 1

Alrighty. I am so amazingly happy with how my body has responded to this particular round. I've managed to get around a couple of cheats and unexpected interuptions. However, I am going to sign off today. It will be begin my 3 days without HCG. This decision wasn't made lightly but I was starting to go off course. I'm pretty much down 15kg and I believe thats a great amount for round 1. My next challenge will be P3, which to be honest I am very much looking forward to.

I'll keep this thread current with updates on what I'm eating to maintain and any weight abnormalities. My largest (ironic) factor will be portion sizes, I still cannot believe how much my stomach has strunk.

Finally I am also embarking on another round in september. I understand it won't quite be the 6 weeks as the OP, but I'll take the risk. I'll continue to post updates, as those of you who have been following my goal is 90kg. I am intending on getting to this weight this year.

    Onward and upward,

    Roscoe.

Day 33 - Second day without HCG

    Weight: 113.4kg/ 249.48lbs

Down another 800gm this morning. 113.4kg is actually an old set point of mine that I sat very comfortably at for at least 6 months last year. Its not a weight I want to stay at forever, but it is a middle ground. A place I use as a marker. Its very interesting how your body remembers old set points and how you always seem to go back to them. I have to laugh as I always find the last 3 days the hardest as I'm experiencing a bit of hunger and the desire to eat your lovely low carb foods set in! I am also just looking forward to eating foods with flavour. I keep the diet very simple as other wise I seem to have cravings that will drag me under the bus.

Some of the habits I've developed throughout this round will be sticking with me...these include:

    - Wine to be reserved for special days/ weekends only...not weekdays (I know we can't drink on the diet but I have managed to stomp on a bad habit)
    - Portion control is king...for everything, Its amazing how much food you don't need.
    - Not eating after 8pm (apart from a grapefruit here and there) does wonders for you....and fasting until 10am
    - Weighing myself everyday, this is a given it keeps me accountable because I'm not at a stage where I can trust my clothes.
    - Exercise (although not always loved) will always have to be a critical part of my life and to maintain this body Ive worked hard for.

The big one...I will always have to monitor, I came to this realisation earlier in the round and it still holds true. No matter what aspect of my diet or weight I will always have to monitor everything. I can still enjoy life, but I will always have to go back to those scales, check and reset. Thankfully I think I have my response plan under control. That plan is...go back to p2 style....larger portions (of course) but its more the simple and low carb factor...hopefully we won't have to do this though.

Feeling happy today...and cannot complain about my results

    Onwards and upwards,

    Roscoe.
