I went 31 days. Wanted to do the full 40 but had a hard stop. Vacation with the family.

    Telling Others
Seriously, why bother. It isnt thier Health you are working with. Do you tell them your salary, or your marital issues, or reveal the status of your bank account? I know men gossip as badly as women but honestly :-).
Now if asked I will start in on all sorts of interesting facts about how the curent social dynamic is causing all of us to be bigger than we should be and what i have learned about how to combat that < in a monotone of course > those who dont run away screaming might get some real information.

    Muscle
One of the reasons i am very dismissive of the argument of losing muscle is that after 4 years of not working out in any way shape or form, I went to a local gym to test my bench. I walked in after work one day and told them i wanted to max bench and woudl someone spot me.
This gym didnt have free bench just smith machines which is a bit like cheating but not as bad as a nautilus machine so after signing away my rights to sue i started with 225... done with ease. then 315 which i didnt quite accomplish. had i had a spot i would have done it.

315 was 80% of my body weight at that point and that is all i have ever been able to bench is 80% of body weight so i conclude that i didnt lose any muscle during my HCG rest period.

For clarity i performed no exercize of any kind from June 16 2010 to May 16 2011. NONE.

havings said that your mileage may vary, i sneeze and put on muscle.

    Progress
I am one of those persons who has been big all my life. I was either born with a natural inclination to bi large, or shortly after birth something manifested. My top weight was 502.4 at age 38. In the last 13 months I have removed 150 pounds of unwanted weight. In the last 8 weeks i have built some muscle. I think that building the muscle was probably what my body wanted to do since it came on so quickly. I also wanted to do it. I did not expect the amount of gain in bulk that i recieved. I have put on 18 pounds and as far as i can tell it is muscular. I can tell the difference as my inches contintue to stay the same or go down. This moring i coudl probably wear my 54 dress pants rather than the 56's I just dont intend to wear out new pants before i need to.
In addition to removing 150 pound of unwanted weight I have removed a total of 58 inches over my body. and dropped my jeans size from 68" to 50"
Things i can do now that i could not do before.
Sprints - I sprint 200 feet 5 times before failure
Things i can do that i have not done in a while
sit-ups I am up to 30 from zero starting in May. before HCG i was doing 10 regularly
    Things i am working on.
Pullups I want to give myself this christmas present, It may be a bit premature as i still weigh 370 but that in itself woudl be a worthy accomplishment.

    Time on Target
Rounds 1 and 2 were strict protocol. Colleen fought with me from the jump to get me to behave and do it "right" and i bent my will. It was annoying and restrictive, however, It provided a baseline for me to understand what to expect. I submit that everyone shoudl follow protocol as designed for the first round, to estabilsh thier own baseline.
Rounds 3 and 4 were modified. 3 by dose and diet 4 by time and diet. In round 3 i added MCT oil on a daily basis. Not only did i use it to cook my food but i made certain i reviece 12g a day as per my ND. I have a strong working relationship with my Naturopath and was weeing some oddities at the end of R2 which concerned me. MCT oil was the answer. Round 4 was a short round 10 days. to this day i dont understand what my body was trying to accomplsih but i was not happy with the results. Round 4 taught me that you dont have to like it, you just need to do it.
Round 5 was modified as well. I have learned that there is something in hard cheese ( specifically Parm and to a much lesser degree 3 year old white cheddar ) that i need. I dont need so much of it in P3 but in P2 i need a bit every day.
Round 5 also saw me take a longer break. 16 weeks My body wants/needs to rebuild structures for the next evolution.

    Hannibal for king
Apparantly you can only watch it at you tube. I encourage you to do so . It is truly amazing to see what i properly trained human body can accomplish

    The devil at work

    Hi guys !

Very happy to see that "The Cave" is in full activity! Also very happy to learn about the good "side effects" of HCG... pounds & INCHES... super!

Well, just for the records, today I went to the pneumologue to have a check-up after 35 years of smoking and a heart attack, hoping to hear dreadful news on my lungs state that would scare the s... out of me so I would never smoke again. Doc said: "you're fine! the only things that bothers your lung performance is all those excess pounds you have on you..; get rid of them!

But... me never being very popular, but determined to start the protocol TOMORROW (tuesday 19) thinking that I would be left alone, well, the invitations to dinner parties haven't stopped! All of them very hard to turn down, not only because of culinary-alcoholic reasons, but for social-friendship reasons as well.

Is the devil at work here?
    Any advise guys?
    Thanks !
    Carlos

    Ah Carlos.

This is an interesting situation. The old Honey Badger can be quite the asshat to men ( he tends to be less direct with women ) because HBDC :-)

    Sack UP LOL

go to your parties, enjoy the company , have the self discipline to not eat and to come up with a socially acceptible reason for not partaking. I started the protocol on June 16th in the next 60 days there were 10 different parties to attend and i attented all of them.

Those who cared about me personally knew what i was doing and never once "offered" those who just were acquaintences got the "I am fine thanks" reply. On game nights i brought my own snacks and made certain they knew my P3 brownies were good and for me. ( you give out one sample and then walk away not one to everyone just one to the big mouth LOL )

I personally have so many reasons to give up and wuss out but i hold myself to a higher standard. Always have always will. I truly enjoy looking myself in the mirror and standing tall. I truly enjoy being able to look anyone in the eye and dare them to find in me a true lack of discipline and dedication. They cannot do it. I AM the man i look up to. even when i feel like ****.

Be your own MAN. frak the devil, she/he only has the power over you that you give him/her.

    Role Models and Mentors

    Carlos has me thinking.
Who has stood in as positive role models and mentors for you?

Here are some of mine in order of memory.

CMD Spock - In order to live thru my childhood i decide at 5 that emotions were a detriment to me. Spock showed me how to live in mastery of your emotions so that i could face my abusers with some dignity.

Bruce Wayne - Using your inner deamons to fuel your spirit... priceless.

Jame T Kirk - I admit that I always wanted to explore strange new worlds and new civilizations. His approach to the no-win solution kept me trying.

Optimus Prime - Ever notice how he always gets the hell beat out of him and still gets up to face down Megatron. Ever notice how Megatron is always bigger faster and stronger than Optimus.

C.B - yeah finally a real person. C.B taught me that being an asshat is no way to get what you need from others. I was never an asshat, however i was more tempted as i got older to be one as it seemed that asshats get thier way more often than not.

Im here.... starting loading June 18/19th.... down 33lbs since the 20 taking HHCG.

Another week and I will have hit the 40lb mark where I have been warned by numerous individuals on this site I need to move on and give my body a break.

Im not really sure what my goal weight truly is. Alot of things will depend for that, like if Im back to putting on muscle or I get back into training for Ironman (which was haulted when I met a deer on my harley at 55 mph last summer) Then I gained 60lbs.....so getting back to the 240 mark will be nice. Then I think I can effectivly lose the last 20-30 through excercise.

Im losing all this weight and its killing me not to be able to work out. I just want to run..........

Well nice to see a thread for guys. I started hhcg about a week ago and lost 11.2 pounds, so I'm pretty much in it for the long haul. My goal is about 50 lbs and I want to take the hhcg drops for 6 weeks. Do you think those goals are realistic? More importantly is it healthy to stay on for that long?

Mixon - from what I have been told by knowledgeable people is 34lbs is the limit in one round, unless you have a large armount to lose then 40 is the max. It gives your body and skin a chance to catch up. At those marks if hit before the 40 days you should move to phase 3.... after 6 weeks you can begin again with the HCG or HHCG.

I don't know, 50 lbs is my goal and I think I can get it all out in one round. It seems like that way would be more convenient. Also, 50 is not excessively more than 34 to 40. I don't really see going on this diet again just to lose another 10 to 15 pounds because you have to stay on it at least 23 days right? I don't know, I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the input. Also, my wife is worried that I will have excess skin hanging. Does anyone have any input on preventing that from happening? Does it really happen?

My thoughts on that would be, once you lose the 40 and are accustomed to eating light you can easily drop the rest by hitting the pavement or the gym. Should only take 3-4 more weeks of normal excercise and responsible eating.

yes if you go back on it they say you truly should be on it a minimum of 21 days or it really doesnt reset your system.

Im going to move on at 40lb mark, then P3 and then start working out at P4.....depending on how everythign is doing then I will decide if I go back onto the HHCG drops for one final push.

I too am worried about the excess skin, which was one of the reasons I was told need to stop at 34 or 50lbs..... however you may not reach the 50lbs mark in 6 weeks, thats more than a pound a day and pretty rare.

Actually, I was mistaken my goal is between 30 to 40 depending on how I look. But I agree 100% with you. I think I will do one round, maintain , and finish the job with proper diet and exercise. I am used to eating healthy since being on the South Beach Diet now (I actually lost 20 lbs before going on the hhcg). The protocol is my way to kick start my weight loss (the two points of sale for me was that it's fast and it works) and get my body to the point where my hypothalamus is reset and I can maintain my healthy lifestyle. Thanks buddy.
