Thread: Back with another round

Thanks for your reply SDWIS. Very interesting anecdote on food sensitivity after vax.

Well, I am off of my planned interruption and back into protocol. Wife and I did a very nice weekend trip to the Texas Hill Country. Did my best but did stray a little bit. This morning's weight is 220.9. Throughout the interruption, my weight was consistently in the low 219 area. As usual, wine was my biggest vice. Was never really too into food, mentally. Maybe because deep down I knew I was going to be back on protocol. But it was great to do the break and my attitude going back into protocol is very positive and I am ready to roll. Had I gone straight through, no way I am feeling this way.

Remaining question is what the weight loss will be like in the remaining days. Also very interested to see what my attitude will be like. Rough plan is go stay on protocol and make Monday 1-17 my LDD but nothing is carved in stone. Bare minimum I want to do at least 10 more days.

    And on I go.

    Hi Wilson,

Glad to see you made it back as planned. I'm back today too. I thoroughly enjoyed the interruption. I too overindulged in alcohol on Christmas and NYE and New Years. I did a correction day yesterday, so I'm jumping back in only 1 lb over my LIW. I only have 13 shots left and I'm not going to order more to extend my round 3 days, so it appears we may be wrapping up at the same time as well.

Hopefully hunger isn't too bad today after not injecting for some time...

I kind of did a weird eating day yesterday. Went by a German bakery in town to possible get some breakfast before hitting the road. All tables full so grabbed a few off-protocol items to eat and hit the road. I had a german sausage in pastry, similar to a kolache. And a german pretzel. Ate the sausage wrap and part of the pretzel on the road and nothing else the rest of the day. Just wasn't hungry. Woke up this morning, took dose and still not hungry. Really happy to be back on protocol

Oh and forgot to mention. Didn't do as tight of a measurement but it appears that hips and thighs are exactly the same as last measurement coming on to the PI. Waist just a tad up but that can easily be bloat from the weekend. Either way, I am right on target. I am assuming that I will drop down to 218 range fairly quick. Beyond that I am curious to the rate of loss over the next week or two.

Yesterday first day back on VLCD. No hunger at all. Venison chili for lunch. Grilled Mahi for dinner. A ton of water during the day. Expecting to see a nice loss to kick off the week and woke up to a 1.1lb gain. Hmm. Maybe a rebound from last weekend. Either way, it really doesn't matter. I have plenty of time to get to goal.

Really weird start to the second half of this round. Down .9lbs this morning, but still a tad higher than where I started Monday morning. I cannot help but think that if I was eating P3 food, the weight would be correcting towards my LDW of 218 as it has done time and time again in the past. But that isn't happening. I am sitting at 221 and not happy. I started Monday at 220.9 and was up to 222 yesterday. Venison chili for lunch and fish for dinner. Well within my allotted calories. The chili might be a problem though. Soups have been an issue in the past. Maybe too much sodium and my body is just holding on to a lot of water. My belly looks bloated. So hopefully there will be a huge correcting drop in the next couple of days. Stopping with the chili and thawing out a packet of frozen leftover grilled shrimp for lunch with a simple salad. Losses have been good in the past eating shrimp. So we shall see.

Physical activity? No tennis from last Wednesday until last night. So that might have influence on today's scale results. Playing again tonight. Rain in the forecast this weekend so likely no tennis until next Tuesday.

This protocol has been good to me. But I have a creeping fear that I have been doing it too much and my body could be screwed up in terms of regulating weight as a result. Either way, I am committed and am not giving up. Other than scale woes, my frame of mind is good. No problems with food.

These kind of scale shenanigans are frustrating, but you said you are feeling bloated, so that's a pretty good sign your body is just holding on to water for some reason. The best thing to do is what you are already doing....just hang in there and wait for the release that is bound to happen. The annoying variable is "when".

    Hi Wilson,

I had a rebound today of 0.8 after a decent loss yesterday. I did experiment with Walden Farm’s ranch yesterday and it didn’t work out for me. I need to buckle back down and stick to the basics.

I didn’t know venison was ok in P2. I have a lot of it in my freezer from a hunt my husband did in the fall…

Lunch was roasted radishes and chicken breast. I used horseradish mustard for dip (just vinegar, nesters seed, and horseradish) for meat.

Dinner will be a lean burger on lettuce with the mustard again. As for exercise, I’ve been averaging 2 miles daily this week. Today, the only exercise I get will be working in the garden. I have to get my tomatoes pulled (freeze killed them off), soil prepped, and baby potatoes planted.

Hoping for losses for all tomorrow.

Waldens Ranch dressings didn't work for me either. I do like Skinny Girl dressings much better. I do well on them. The honey dijon is my favorite one. But I don't eat salads as often on protocol because I really miss the healthy oils.

I like to do the hamburger patties too. I eat with yellow mustard, sliced onions and dill pickles. Tastes like a Whataburger. It is not that I miss fast food. But when on protocol I do like things with a strong taste and pickle, onions and mustard does the trick. I also like sauerkraut.

This morning, the scale finally broke through. 2.3lbs loss down to 218.8 so closer to my LDD and ready to go beyond. It seems there might be something to that venison chili. To reach goal it looks like I will need to go 39-40 days for sure.

In terms of hunger and/or cravings, I feel great. Curious just how long it will stay that way but not too worried about that.

Weekend is coming up so I need to head to the grocery store after work today. Need shrimp to grill and freeze for next week's lunches. Salmon for the grill for dinner tonight and tomorrow night. Some frozen mahi steaks for dinners next week. A couple pork loin chops for a dinner this weekend and grass fed hamburger patties for weekend lunches. French green beans are our go to veggies with dinner. Maybe a package of arugula for salad.

Life is simple on protocol. Meals are easy to plan. The fridge is empty and clean (I love that). But I tend to overgo the simplicity and get into ruts. But that is all part of protocol life. You have to mix things up the best you can.

    Nice loss Wilson!

I too like to add dill pickle and onions to my lean burger patties. I’ve even made burger salads by just cutting everything up and mustard as “dressing.”

I skipped all dressing yesterday and lost the 0.8 gain, plus another 1.2 lbs. I’m now 3 lbs under LIW for PI and getting super close to goal. I’m feeling great as well, although I’m missing a breakfast of scrambled eggs, green onion, and cheddar. I am thinking my losses are about to slow being so close to goal but I hope they don’t do I can end my round sooner. Lol!

I have a whole Dungeness crab to eat on today. I marinated cucumbers and red onion yesterday to snack on and cut up three bunches of radishes for a quick crunchy snack, or to thrown in the oven for a meal side.

Hoping losses like today continue for you.

I always had a gain if i ever had any kind of soup on P2. Even chicken and spinach, or beef and onion that I made. Something about the extra liquid and accompanying salt, so I never did soups or chili again, even though I could stir fry chicken and spinach, or beef and onion and always had at least a 1 lb. loss without the extra liquid.

thanks sdwis. I think my P2 chili days are over for sure. Or any soup for that matter. But in fairness I made some greens soup (collard, turnip and mustard) the third week of this round and lost 4lbs in 4 days. I also believe that the hard transition from PI to P2 was a bit confusing for my body as well. Kind of weird.

But I am into the swing now. A big drop of 2.6lbs this morning pulling me down to 216.2. That is 5.8lbs dropped in the last 3 mornings after the jump up to 222 on Tuesday. 22lbs lost for the entire round. So whatever was going on early in the week is in the past and my body is dropping the pounds and inches. It will be interesting to see where the next plateaus will be as I am certain there are a few more to come. In my short round in May, 214 was a bit of a plateau but not significant. I ended that round at 210.6 but was too short and simply a bad idea. My body immediately wanted to race the weight northward to 212-215. 5-6lb jumps on P3 weekends seemed common.

That is why I am excited to be trying a long round. I know I can probably hit goal by ending mid next week but want to stretch it out. Not to go beyond goal so much, but to spend more time at or beyond goal to hopefully get my body used to being there and create something of a set point. That way, when I get in to P3 it would hopefully be easier to hang around that weight. I haven't seen 210 in a long time and want to retrain my body to that weight.

Hungry last night for the first time. Needed to go to the grocery store after work first and pick up some more protein for the weekend and next week and a few other items. Ended up eating later than I wanted so there was some real hunger there. Not really craving anything. Frame of mind is really good.

Doing bloodwork today at my doctors office as I do annually, so fasting this morning. Usually have a piece of beef jerky to start the day. Fine without it.

Rainy weekend without tennis most likely. Thinking about starting a weight lifting regimen. Nothing serious. Arm curls, presses, planks and ab works. Going to start small but want to make this a regular thing.

    Have a great weekend all.
