I was (am) trying to figure out not what to eat, I understand that, but how MUCH to eat in P3. So I searched old threads and I am seeing 1500 calories and 3000 calories.....so what gives, that is a HUGE difference!!!
I usually eat 2000-2500 calories in P3.

I usually eat 2500-3000. Lots of protien and good fats. But don't overeat, eat until you are full but you should never be hungry.
psjack
so will your metabolism reset at those calories?
No starches/sugars--other than that you can pretty much eat whatever you like & as much as you like. Just make sure you aren't eating low fat, sugar free type foods..you know, all the things that are supposed to help you "lose" weight: STAY AWAY, they are NOT your friend!!
In a previous thread someone referenced a formula that would help you identify how many calories you should eat..please excuse my fuzzy memory but i recall it being your weight (in this case--LIW) x 11. On the other hand, whiel you shouldn't overeat (that's what got us here in the first place LOL!) you should eat until your satisfied/full.
I chose not to count calories, I added new foods in slowly--no problems. HTH

Bump for Grammy
I'm with Jack and Heddie, I don't count calories, lots of goot proteins and fats, add foods slowly, veggies, good salads.
Just add known allergens like dairy and nuts slowly so you can see if any of them cause you to gain.
Why would you want to count calories when you don't have to? Like Jack said, eat til you're full just don't over eat.
I eat at least one mug cake a day. That's at least 500 calories all by itself. I eat avocados every day. Large portions of meat and cheese. Fruit. It adds up fast.

I am looking forward to P3 but I am scared to death to eat and I fear I have become addicted to having to take my HCG shot for fear I will gain if I don't!!
Colleen,
Mug cake, cheese...I thought so. I can't do dairy (no cheese), eggs, or almonds. I do eat avocados almost every day as well as coconut oil and coconut butter and meat/fish portions as large as I can. I'm finding it more of a challenge to keep the calories high enough than people who don't have the food sensitivities that I have.
Yes that would make it challenging!
