I am starting this diet at the end of the week with some trepidation on the diet as a whole. I do not think anyone should discontinue a serious medication such as BP meds, levothyroxine, and anti-depressants (if taken for depression). New research tells us that increasing one's sleep to 8-9 hours aids in weight loss. I am very concerned about utilizing fat soluble vitamins without any fat in my diet. For so long I have been taking Omega 3s and 2000 units Vitamin D. Now I feel I will have to give them up. The vitamin D I can get from the sun, seeing it is summer, but the omegas have me concerned. White fish has almost no omega 3's. I am a person of science and many of the rules do not make sense given the information we have today, but I have gained extra weight be on cymbalta, so I am willing to be a human research lab rat!
JaNice - first of all- NOBODY on here should be giving advice for anyone to stop taking medications etc during the diet. That is something only your own personal doctor can tell you to do. I would not stop taKing any medications I was on. Also, I have had a severe Vitamin D deficency (so much so that the Dr even joked that I could stand in sun naked for 10 hours a day and it wouldn't raise my level to anywhere even near where they should be) and I continued to take that the entire time. I would say to keep taking what you were already taking!

We tell everyone on this forum that all medications can be continued and should be continued during this diet. We suggest folks look at supplements to make sure they are high grade and low in starch fillers. And folks on BP meds and insulin for blood sugar need to monitor their conditions extra carefully to be sure weight loss doesnt change their medication requirements, which they should then discuss with their doctor. Dr s said to stop all meds, but back in the 50s, the meds were fewer, and simplier, as the health problems were.

I just wanted to come on and make a comment about hhcg vs RX SubQ . I am on round 4 or 5(sorry I have lost count) All my previous rounds were hhcg, first with drops then with pellets. I lost a little over 60# total but the last two rounds have been impossible rounds, I starved the whole time and it was a real struggle for me. Everyone said I looked awful, and in retrospect I am thinking I was losing good fat and not bad fat. I had an awful time stabilizing, never once did I add back sugars or any carbs. I started gaining weight and steak days didnt work. I did all protein days, that didnt work. I then watched calories and fats as well...That too didnt work. I am a very stubborn loser, with ridiculously low metabolism. This is the first diet I have had work for me in the past ten years. I have dieted consistently ever since my son was born many many many years ago, and thru that kept my weight off til 1998 then it started going downhill, many health issues etc. So needless to say HCG was a miracle for me, and I was scared I was back on the road to regaining no matter what because I had gained back 13#this year no matter what I was doing to try to keep it off. So, I decided to try a round of RX. I was going to put it off until after the new year but I got the courage up to go for it one more time. I thought I would be starving as I have been my last two rounds, but I have been amazed and delighted! I have been on injections for a week now...(This is VLCD 8) I gained 1.8 when loading, and as of today I have lost a total of 9.2 #so another 4# and I will be back down to my LDW
I just wanted to write this post for anyone that may be on hhcg and starving or struggling. I am not negating the effectiveness of hhcg because it did work for me. I do think however it is harder to know if what you have has any hcg in it at all. So my statement is, if there is anything holding you back from RX please try it if you are struggling. I bought my Rx from escrow refills. It arrived quickly! Then I bought my needles and supplies from amazon. I was worried about the mixing but there are instructions on here that walk you by step by step on how to mix it. The instructions are also very clear on how much you should be drawing up in the syringes and the insulin syringes are clearly marked. The only thing I would do differently is that I would have just bought 2 vials of the 2000IU instead of the one vial of 5000. So far my solution is still potent, but I have read so much about how it can lose potency, and I wanted to do a 40 day round.

So I want to encourage anyone that is struggling on hhcg to go for the Rx. It is so nice to only have to worry about it one time a day The injections do not hurt, unless you forget to let the solution come to room temp. For me a cold injection does hurt.

Stay encouraged. You will love the new you you see in the mirror. This is a great group, I do not post often due to time constraints but we have a lot of kind and knowledgeable people on here that will help you on your journey!

Yup, we need to continue taking our meds prescribed by our Dr's lest told otherwise. I read from many articles and testimonies that at the end of the program, they ended up ditching their meds coz they do better without it. I don't remember where to find that article or page anymore but it sure did stuck in my head. Good info I tell ya. Good luck everyone!

    Hello-
I am due to start my 3rd and final round on Monday. In the past 2 rounds I used Rx sublingual drops (5000IU/mL dosed at .25-.3ml 2x per day). This time I will be trying the troches ( and hoping for a better absorption % and greater hunger control). The doc said my script will be 500IU and I should take 1x/dy and skip 1 day per week. This dose seems very high to me. I'm considering cutting the troches in half (250). Would that do it, or is it possible to quarter them (125)? And, if I divide the troches, how many times per day and days per week??
    Thank you.
B.T.W- ill be doing a short 23-30dy round.

What about switching from HHCG to subq shots half way through? How long does it take when you order the Rx drops?

I workout daily, cardio and weights. I am about to apply the Hcg diet into my routine. After careful consideration I have opted for the sublingual pellets 12hrs apart. My fear is that you are told no working out, no cardio. I am hoping no to lose too much muscle mass that I have achieved. But due to my thyroid I have been gaining fat, I eat clean so the Dr felt that this may be my best option to help the situation!
    What are your thoughts?

There is no prohibition on anything you're used to doing when doing hcg. If you want to keep up your normal exercise, it's fine to do that.

I'm not crazy about the sublingual pellets if they are RX. Most doctors prescribe much too high of a dose of those and they are practically impossible to adjust when the dose is wrong as it often is. You might take another look at shots which is the only method that actually has hcg in the blood and urine.

I know Grammy responded, but I thought I would throw out there that I have done HIIT & Barre 2-3xs a week for the last two years and every time I worked out (which was down to 1x a week during protocol) while using HcG my weight jumped 1-1.5# the next day and then dropped back down the next.

I expected it since P&I talks about the muscles retaining water but I couldn't stop my workouts cold turkey so I just rolled with it. Just something to think.

Ok so basically in my best interest, lay off the work outs while on the diet?
