Thread: Archies Marchies P3

  1. #1
    Hi Marchies,
    Here we go...

My hubby and I decided to start P3 ain 72 hrs, vs at 3 full days (we did 3 days R1). SO, our first P3 meal will be 6pm Sunday. We took our last drops Thurs 5pm. I am amazed that it was my husbands suggestion, being the procedure man that he is...
SO, we decided to ease into things by increasing our protein, plan on steaming a pot of shrimp and having a real salad Happily went to the produce mkt today in anticipation of a wonderful salad. Monday we will increase a bit more, for sure eggs for us both; we didn't show issues w/them R1.

Our charting has been extremely helpful and insightful. I already looked over what I did record from R1P3 ( stopped when we were in India/UK). I see I stayed stable, except for the day that I had more fruit, more than a handful of nuts, and hubby's stew made with carrots and turnips. Next am was up 3lbs! Did a steak day the next and lost 2.5lbs. Stayed stable for the few days charted after that, then it was on to traveling in India, where I stayed strict p3, with probably more trailmix or nuts, and diet pop than I should have had. I excused myself with the diet pop because I am an American eater, who was served Indian cuisine and I don't do well w the heat and humidity and we were in 98 degrees, on coast.

I highly recommend you chart your eating/drinking and note going out to eat, etc. You will be amazed at what you can figure out/learn off of that info! Save it for your next rds and that is even more helpful, to help you keep your focus, knowing more specifically how you responded, when on your round.

I am so thankful to be easing into things tomorrow; I honestly was having a deprivation mind-battle. Could see myself "feeling" like I just had to stuff food in, for being hungry and deprived.
Now that the scenario has changed (I get to vs I can't) that deprivation battle has completely gone.

Have a good sleep (Marchies in US) great day (Archie and Minnie overseas) TTYL!

Hey Cher, you actually made it happen...this thread I mean. Now this will be our new hang-out.

In fact some people wait only for 48 hours after their last dose because drops leave your system faster. It is wise on your part to wait for 72 hours though.

I too maintained a food diary when I was doing P3 and P4 and have to say it proved to be my most important resource.

Thanks for the tips Cher, and wish you and your hubby a breezy stabilization.

Funny, what I am most looking forward to is a salad! That and cheese and will try eggs. I was not an egg fan before so we will see

I love eggs in P3, and cottage cheese. Processed cheese makes me gain 2 pounds overnight (thanks to my records keeping).

I was just going through my weight chart and observed few things that were quite intriguing and interesting. In the first 20 injections (which include two during the load days), I lost 13.6 pounds. In the next 17 injections (3 more to go), I have lost 3.6 pounds.

That gives me a clear sense of direction for my future rounds. I will do 3 weeks of P3 now, begin my P2, take 20 injections without skipping, take a break of 13 days, another 20 injections, break of 13 days and continue till I reach my ideal weight. Then do a four week P3 and remain in P4 for the rest of my life.

Archie, I'm with you. That's what I am thinking and planning. I need to read up on cycling but I am willing to read up on it so I will in P3 and 4. Except, i guess I am going to do a P4 right now and I think you are not....I need to because I never have and there is too much valuable information to gain from P4 to skip it.

Also, Arch, by cottage cheese do you mean paneer?? I LOVE palak paneer. I learned to like paneer; I didn't like it so much at first. I think it's a great food. Loved the paneer tikkas and anything "tandoori" with paneer. Paneer is nothing like cottage cheese in the USA. I know they call it that but it's no like it at all it's just both are derived from cow's milk.

AND Archie....lol....I used to get a natural cheddar cheese by Britannaia (I think!)...it was about 45-50 rupees for 200 or 250 grams, can't remember. But, I did have to go to a store that catered to foreigners. It was supposed to be a natural cheese and it's much less expensive than the imported cheeses. It is greasy. That was it's downfall was it was greasy. And it must be refrigerated in transportation (two clues to lack of processing). I did not live in the part of town most foreigners do in Bombay and, at first, the company would deliver to cheese to my local little dry goods store (I had a FABULOUS general store by my house) but then they said they would not because of the refrigeration issue so I ended up going to the foreigner's neighborhood to get it. I always heard that Bombay was India's port so we had everything that came into the country but as it spreads across the country the choices diminish (but Britannia is a local company) . I must assume Chennai is also a major port. It seemed Chennai had a lot more stuff from Australia than Bombay did. Funny huh? I know the consulate in Bombay always complained that the Embassy in Delhi always got first dibs on the goods for the commissaries (even though the goods came into Bombay first).

Well, I am feeling the bubble of P2 popping and can understand why people freak out over the transition. I need to maintain discipline while the restrictions are lifted. Very interesting concept to aborb. I am worried about my ability to discipline myself with less restriction. I have some ideas of what I want to eat so I think I will make a list so I don't forget and so I can plan. I'm a list maker. ;-) (and a lame brain; always forget)

    Swatdii Kha!!

Yes, I meant paneer. I make it at home and it is so delicious and nutritious.

We do have Amul and Britannia processed cheese available in India - cubes and slices. But they made me gain a minimum of 2 pounds everytime I had them.

The fact that foreign goods are more readily available in Delhi than anywhere else in India is very obvious. All the diplomats, UN employees and international organization staff are headquartered here, Delhi being the capial. And I can not begin to count the students.

Don't worry too much about P3. Just remember all the tips you have read and you will be safe. In any case, we are all here to help each other.

Doing P4 is a good idea, at least once. You learn so much about your body which you were not conscious about earlier.

Archie....are you saying that it is ok to skip P4? I am the end of the first week of P3 and I plan on doing another round of P2, but would love to get it done and out of the way before the summer, so I was wondering about skipping P4. I only did a short round of hhcg, and actually took a break for about 5 days because of a family issue, so I dont feel like I got the full bang anyway, but I have been stable for about 3 days. Have you skipped P4 in the past and it been ok? Would the fact that you do injections and I am hhcg make a difference? Sorry for all the questions...just very curious about this... thanks

zip, Dr. S did not articulate eloborately on this issue. Yes, he did say that as we go into the advanced rounds, we should increase the interval by two weeks with every progressive round. The minimum between the first two rounds has been recommended as six weeks.

I have done one pure round - three weeks of P3 and three weeks of P4 with all starches and sugar. Remained stable. My second round has not gone too well in terms of weight loss. I have lost only 14 lbs compared to 21 that I lost in the first round.

Personally speaking, I will do a three week P3 and then move right back into P2. This time I will cycle with planned breaks in between the round.

I don't think injections or HHCG makes any difference. Rather injections may have more possibility to cause immunity than HHCG.

    Your choice.

Archie...I think I may take the plunge with you and skip P4 and straight back into P2, I would love to lose another 10 to 15lbs, only lost 13 on the first round, so I may have to do more than the 23 days. What day are you on in P3? I am on Day 9, so almost half way there. Are you planning to load for 2 days again? Maybe we can try this together! thanks

    Hi Archies Marchies,

Today, I saw my goal # on the scale; too bad its not my liw but gives me a little wiggle rm.AND>>> Lord knows the way tonight went, I am going to need it.

Ok, we ate protocol lunch, I drank 120oz water, and we steamed our shrimp at 5:30pm.

Made coleslaw with small amt mayo, vinegar, splenda. And I made sugar-free cocktail sauce. All so good. THEN,

we went for it and made guacamole and had it w/pork rinds and was it so wonderful, every bite. Even the majorly disciplined hubby had to put the stuff up, before going awol.
Me, I so wanted to, craving McD's lofat froz yogurt (it was a 72 sunny spring day). I had the worst struggle of 24 days let me tell you. So I ate some nuts and raisins, unfortunately too much, probably a full cup. OMW my tummy is rebelling now, major bloating and blech Half of me wants to just forget and have a froz yogurt and the other half already feels like I have really "done something wrong". Oh brother, more like a kid than a 51 yr old.

Tomorrow I have to shop for an outfit for this wkend, as I am the speaker at a conference and have honestly nothing to wear. For opposite reasons as previous (all so tight). I will look like a bag lady with the way things are now. So if I don't cool it, I will be miserable shopping. Arrgggggghhh!
Maybe it will do me good to get shopping right after breakfast and get away from the whole food issue. Then I can have the reality of the outfit and what awaits me as I have to stand in front of many people Friday night.

Thanks for listening my friends; Would like to better understand what you are proposing Archie, with your next rd and what all you have concluded. I want to do another rd, like just after Memorial Day here (May 30). That could change, depending what I may learn from you.
Can't wait until we are all "on the same page". Have a great day/night, Cher

    Hi Everyone,

I am trepidacious about P3 tomorrow. I tried to make mayonnaise tonight and failed epically until my husband came to my rescue. It was the speed of the blender. I was doing it too slow. Of course, men are faster, hotter, harder so it worked, thank goodness. I have been so looking forward to a salad and needed mayo to make a dressing. I will do a bleu cheese. I hope it's ok because I will probably add eggs tomorrow and if the dressing is bleu cheese that would also be adding cheese?? I don't know, we'll see how it all plays out. I did splurge and buy an avocado. It cost me 2 dollars and I'm sure it's imported but I love avocados. I found "fermented milk" and a "yogurt" drink that the girl told me was buttermilk (for ranch dressing) but they both had sugar. The buttermilk had 18% and the yogurt drink 2% ...I bought a yogurt that seemed like it was "plain" but I have bought plain yogurts before and they are ALWAYS sweet. The great thing is that I am reading Thai well enough now to read "sugar" in Thai...!! That is so cool. The other cool thing is Thai labels label by percent. So far not HFCS at all in the Thai foods. Woo hoo. The sour cream is cream!

Ok, just needed to chat a little. I got quite weak tonight (my last vlc day) but I ate dinner late due to mayonnaise disasters and experimenting. We must have gone through a dozen eggs. lol. sigh. I didn't like the finished product, either....arg. We'll see tomorrow. Things always look better in the morning. (well after coffee).

I stayed on protocol, though. I am not hungry which is kind of freaking me out but I did get weak.

Arch, thanks for the advice and please feel free to state the obvious. I need reminders.
