I just had my annual physical, my blood work shows sugar levels 132, it should be in the range of 70-99. My Cholesterol is normal . HDL is again high , VLDL is high and also triglycerides high ( this bloodwork was done non fasting ) . So my doctor has asked me to come back on Tuesday with 12 hours of fasting for the bloodwork.

Tomorrow is my first loading day doing sublingual , need advise if all these levels go down once I start losing weight. Should I get the blood work done so soon, or wait for results from the HCG ? My doctor is not aware my diet. I am so excited but very nervous for my first day tomorrow. What if I mess up ??. I want to look pretty again

    Hi chubby4life,

Usually bloodwork inproves once you are at a healthier weight. Blood sugar levels for sure improve just by losing 10% of your weight. If at all possible, I'd wait to have your blood work redrawn in a month...

I just had a physical after R1 and my numbers (fasting bloodwork) were amazing. My cholesterol was 221 bbefore and it was in the 170's this time. Everything was in the normal range. Finally! My mom passed away a few years back of a brian anurism so my Dr. is REALLY worried about my health. As he was reading the bloodwork results he was so excited. Thank goodness. This diet is amazing.

chubby- all the levels you mention were high when i started. all normal now.

cholesterol, hdl, ldl and tryglic all were normal after the first month of cutting out sugar and white flour (even before hcg). the blood sugar took a few months longer.

you definitely want to get on top of that one. my doc said that anything over 100 is "officially" diabetic (but that is fasting), although she usually doesn't start treating people until they're over 115. any nurses want to weigh in on that one? at what point do people usually go on medication for type II diabetes?

looked it up- here's one bit from an online site: "Persons with levels between 100 and 126 mg/dL may have impaired fasting glucose or prediabetes. These levels are considered to be risk factors for type 2 diabetes and its complications. Diabetes is typically diagnosed when fasting blood glucose levels are 126 mg/dL or higher."

chubby4life. Don't worry about it now! I started this protocol after I had a blood test which showed that I had high glucose and cholesterol. So I decided to do something about it. My original stats, taken on 16 April 2009 showed Glucose at 118, Total Cholesterol at 223, LDL cholesterol at 140 and Triglycerides at 139. After my first round of HCG I had another blood test and on 24 June 2009 my stats were Glucose at 77, Total Cholesterol at 177, LDL cholesterol at 116 and Triglycerides at 84. This result was due to losing 22.9lbs. My doctor was amazed at the results. Since then I have lost further 21lbs. So if I were you, I'd wait until you finish the round before you repeat your tests. Good luck!

I'd wait too. Especially since you're going to be loading that is going to drive your numbers up temporarily. I think if you can wait a month that would be ideal or until your finished with he round. Of course it could also be a a testimony to this diet with 2 test at the beginning and then the ending test.

chubby- i believe the only thing you'd normally be fasting for anyway is the blood glucose- that is probably what they're most concerned about it. if you don't want to tell them about the hcg, tell them you'd just like to try dieting for a bit before they re-test.

Chubby4life, i would wait. My reason is you already have one high glucose on your medical record. Technically, after 2 high glucose readings you are branded a diabetic....that impacts everything....goes on your record. At this point, one or two months wont make much difference in your treatment if you are diabetic, so lose some weight, make sure you are fasting next time, and see what that result is. If its still high, then begin treatment....but don't get yourself labelled as a diabetic at this point in the game. Just my opinion. ) Barb

great point, barb. insurance companies are becoming sooo ridiculous these days about stuff.

even 15 yrs ago, i could not get any medical insurance because i was in counseling!! they didn't care about the major back problems i had had- only that i was in counseling. they would not consider insuring me until i had gone 2 years without it- can you believe that??
