    Question Confused on dosage/injections

Hi, I'm new, R1/P2/D9. (lost 7.5 lbs.) I've really been struggling with hunger and weakness. I've been reading these forums a lot before I joined this morning and a lot of the suggestions were to lower the dosage, which I did a bit, and waited three days, but still very hungry.

But I'm confused on what I'm actually taking. The vial was purchased through my Dr. (pre-mixed), it says 10,000 iu injectable, RPH: AB, on the bottle. The syringe says it's 1 cc/mL, 27G x 1/2". It has numbers beginning with 0.1, 0.2 etc. and ends at 1.0. There are ten lines between the numbers. I was told to take, and I quote, "two and a half", whereby she loads the needle to half way between the .2 and the .3 (when teaching how to inject myself).

Does this mean I was taking 250 iu? I dropped to the .2 mark waited three days and this morning I used .15. Did I go too low? I'm so confused. I tried talking to the nurse about it yesterday morning, she just said to hang in there another week, that hunger at first is normal and I could talk to the dr. next week about maybe changing the dosage. I can't wait that long, starting to feel nauseous. TIA.

    Teresa

PS I'm following the protocol exactly and was drinking 2 quarts of water/day, which I was told was not enough, will drink more from now on.

We can't really help when we don't know how it was mixed. she may have started you at 125 iu which is too low for subcutaneous for most people or she might have started you higher. We just don't know. Call the nurse and ask the actual amount of hcg in ius that dose translates to.

Thanks grammy. I tried calling the nurse today, left a message, she didn't call back and they are closed now. I sent an email and hopefully she'll call tomorrow.

Ugh... I hope you get an answer soon. Really all you need to know is how much mixing fluid (bac water) they used with your 10,000 units.

I wanted to do this first round through the dr. but I want to do the other rounds on my own. How can I find out where to get the hcg/syringes and how to mix it myself? I'm sure syringes are only available here with a prescription.

edit to say I have now found the area on where to buy hcg. It's still all very confusing. Grammy I saw in another post where you use all day chemist, I checked them out and it's so confusing. I can't tell if what i'm seeing is for injecting or sublingual and what the differences are between them all.

It's a pretty small vial, a little over 2" tall and 1" wide. And it was mostly full when i got it.

Thanks, I actually read about them a couple hrs. ago and will more than likely go with them next time. But I'm only on R1/P2/D11 so I'll try to stick it out with the dr. this time, especially since my cholesterol is high and I want another round of blood work taken afterwards to see if the diet improved my cholesterol.

I did some figuring (still waiting for the call) that if I'm taking .25ml per dose and she gave me a 30 day supply then that means there is 7.5 ml total liquid in the vial. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm so not good at math.

edit: also if there are 10000 iu in the vial and that's 30 dosages then that would mean ea. dose has 333.333ius in it? GAH! My brain!

Okay I finally talked with the nurse. She said I am taking 250 iu intramuscular.

Man it was like pulling teeth to get that answer from her, she kept saying I was taking 2.5 mg and she couldn't understand why I needed any other answer, she thought I was questioning the care I was getting. Trying to tell me to not put too much into what I was reading on the internet. I kept saying I just wanted to relate to others (on the diet) I was talking to and want to use the same numbers they're using. Sheesh! ::rolls eyes::

edit to add that I've already tried 200 for 4 days and was hungry, I'm wondering it I should try 225 or 175.

No wonder you're hungry..... I hadn't realized you were doing muscle injections! A lot of IM users injection 125 or maybe 150.... so you're at a really high dose for IM. Have you skipped any injections?

Most clinics mix the hcg for a 1000iu per ml/cc mixture....and that's what you have too since you're injecting .25

Robbi - Wow! I didn't know I was doing im injections either (in the thigh), glad I thought to ask that. I haven't skipped an injection yet, maybe I should skip tonight's? And try 150 tomorrow? I'm leaving now for the evening, I'll check back around 10:30 ET. Thanks!
