Thread: Covid vaccine

    Covid vaccine

I'm due to get my 2nd covid vaccine on in April, that means I will be on hcg at the time. I've been given an exact date and time.

Is it ok to do so whilst on hcg.

I don't know the answer to your question. The answer might be related to how pregnant women handle the vaccine, because HCG levels are elevated during pregnancy. The problem with extrapolating something definitive from that concept is that the vaccine trials did not include pregnant women, so maybe we can't know for sure.

However I was recently reading that they were telling people who had their second shot delayed because of the storms and power outtages that it would still work fine if they had to wait a while. '

If you are nearing the end of your round by then, you may be able to reschedule to a time when you are off HCG.

For people looking for answers on this topic, I think it’s very important that we get our priorities right. Everyone needs this vaccine, and it works best if given in the intervals prescribed. Granted, in Texas, we had to delay some second shots by about a week due to the storms. That was within the tolerance for administration....but do you really want to be just within some vague tolerance of administration...or do you want to be protected from COVID.....Taking HCG for weight loss does not give you the levels of HCG when you are pregnant....and the fear during pregnancy is for the life of the fetus. My suggestion would be to take a break from your round....get your shot on time....then continue your round. Is there really any more important reason to take a break from a round than this? Hugs all.

please...no comments about conspiracy, no need for vaccine, it’s no worse than the flu....etc. I am a licensed health care provider.

ACOG recommends that COVID-19 vaccines should not be withheld from pregnant individuals. That said, I would be more concerned about getting sick and needing other foods than protocol for example but then again, tea, lemon juice, ibuprofen is often enough. If it is late enough in your round, maybe you can do a planned interruption?

I did start hhcg about 8 days after first shot but i am pausing till two weeks after my second dose. I had Moderna with some mild effects but because i am very tired and unsure if it is vaccine related or hhcg very low calorie diet. I will feel more comfortable starting after second dose end of this month. Doing P3 till i get back on track

I kinda timed things just right , unconsciously tho--was ending a round, and not taking hcg at first shot--and will be in P3 at time of 2nd vaccine. But I have read it is important to go ahead and get vaccine. I did Pfizer, and will do second shot on April 1. Except for sore arm for one day, no side effects at all.

I didnít see this post until today, but I have been on HCG (shots) VLCD for both of my shots. I had my 2nd vaccine (31st HCG shot day) two days ago. My 1st vaccine was 7th HCG shot day ( VLCD day 5). While I had some minor side effects (fever 100.3, extremely stiff neck, body aches, and joint pain), everything seemed to have come out all right.

I can update if any other symptoms come up, but so far today I feel really great. For my 1st vaccine, my worst symptoms didnít show up until 5 days post injection. After today, I have 8 more HCG injection days and 12 VLCD days to P3.

I am a 51 year old female, history of RA, IBS, chronic migraines, and fibromyalgia.

I waited to start my round, had my 2nd phizer injection last week and let TOTM come and go. No side effects from either injection and am i'm very grateful I was able to get both so early in the year. I'm starting my injections this weekend.
