    CRUISING RIGHT Along in P3!!!

    Hello Everyone,

I just returned from my short Spring Break Bahamas Cruise this week, which occurred during my second week of P3.

I am happy to say that my weight was only up .2 from the morning weigh-in on the day I left. As I mentioned, I don't have much of a sweet tooth so there was no temptation , and this cruise wasn't really heavily laden with desserts galore like many of them are. I only remember seeing a soft serve ice cream machine, a gelato stand, and a few slices of various cakes sitting around.

I ate the following foods on the cruise ship and also ate lunch one day at a beach excursion buffet:

Dinners: Lost of Beef (Pot Roast, Beef Short Ribs, Ribeye Steak)
Lunch: Jerk Chicken, Grilled Burgers, BBQ Pork Ribs
Snack: Shrimp & Crab ****tail, Garden Salad topped with Guacamole
Breakfast: Plateful of Bacon - (which I don't eat or buy at home because it's usually too salty. This bacon was not salty at all), scrambled eggs, swiss cheese, sirloin steak & eggs,
Beverages: Coffee w/Stevia and a splash of HWC, Champagne, Long Island Iced Tea made w/Diet Coke, Mimosas (OJ & Champagne), Perrier, Lots of Bottled Water
Veggies: Wedge Salad w/Roquefort Cheese, Asparagus, Broccoli, Green Beans, Grilled Zucchini

I didn't add an extra fats such as butter to anything, but just ate as prepared. I was pleasantly surprised for sure!!

I always wait until my final week of P3 to start adding fruits, although when I was on a planned interruption in Costa Rica last month I ate tons of super sweet Pineapple with no issues.

My honey likes bread and cheesecake, so he ate enough of those for the both of us on the cruise. Neither is a temptation to me. As a matter of fact, I took him to The Cheesecake Factory for his birthday yesterday where he ordered the Carrot Cake Cheesecake, shrimp jambalaya pasta, and had a basket of bread - NO OF THESE WERE A TEMPTATION TO ME. WHATSOEVER!!!!

I just had their Grilled Chicken Avocado salad - which was Yummy and I was down 2 lbs. this morning, which was great since I was at the top of my range yesterday morning.

I think pineapple is a great P3 fruit. There is so much fiber in it that I think it mitigates the fruit sugar.

I also think it helps digest all the meats I eat, which makes sense due to the fact that they make digestive enzymes out of pineapple as well. I will actually be having some this weekend. I wish I wasn't allergic to berries since I absolutely love raspberries and blackberries.

Good point. Its the bromelain. I remember years ago a nutritionist telling me that pineapple would help my digestion.

Bromelain has now replaced papain (papaya enzyme) in meat tenderizers. I've always found papaya to be a great digestive aid as well. Both really work to break down proteins. And papain has always helped relieve the bloat I get from overeating.
