Thread: Encouragement for those with a lot of weight to lose

  1. #73
    Thanks Margie.

I have been lingering here for over a month or so. I really value your input. I started HCG 22 days ago after researching it for a month. I was really nervous about the whole process, but reading your posts and other member's post put me at ease. I am already down 20 pounds (average one pound a day) and I really love using this time to enjoy the "simple" foods. I have always been an overweight person, well since age 4 or 5. I lost 100 pounds with a simple diet of 1200 calories while in college but once I had both of my kids the weight crept back on and stayed there. The only thing that I really miss is my wine.

Anyways, thanks to everyone for what you write and put up there for people like me to read. =)

    great job!

now i'm going to whisper this to you, because you did NOT hear this from me- but a few people have been known to have just a touch of wine at times instead of their fruit.... But it's off protocol!

WOW ... I am happy for you! Thank you sooooo very much for sharing. Your honesty, and strength are an incredible inspiration. I have reread this many times over the last six weeks. Your journey brought me to tears. When you say so if I can lose the weight, ANYONE can! ... I actually believe you.
This is my first round. Im down either 25.2, or 29.8 (depending on which day I go by) I have 115 lbs. to lose. Started P3 on Saturday. At times Im scared to death Im not going to do this right. I felt a lot safer in P2, reading your posts & words of caring wisdom bring a welcome comfort, and confidence. Im very grateful to you!!!

I've got over 100#s to lose. (obviously)I have failed every weight loss attempt I have tried.... typically giving up too soon, small cheats lead to quitting, etc. I had the LapBand procedure 5 years ago, lost 70ish pounds, got sick and gained it all back in less than 2 years. Right now my band is empty, although it still restricts my intake somewhat. I'm praying that this works for me... I can't give up because I am ashamed of myself and don't want my children to grow up either embarassed by me or thinking it's okay to do this to their bodies!!!

I am so glad to have found this forum!!! mgsondance, you are an inspiration to me!!!

Hi Hcgcheri, That is a big one for me. not wanting to embarrass my child as he grows older. I have gone from being the fattest mommy I saw at the last school performance to just being one of the fat mommies... One of these days I will be one of the skinny mommies. You can do this.

You have hit the nail on the head with the small cheats thing...Just don't go there. Every one you pass up makes you stronger for the next one. I can honestly say I'm not even tempted any more. If you are anything like me, keep an eye on how many pounds lost and you will find as you lose more and more cheating becomes less and less attractive. Stay focussed and intent and keep your eye on the prize.

Margie!!!! I thought I was the only one who whispered about that to folks!!!! I guess not!! LOL....

I have done this a few times....pick a very dry wine, (white or red doesn't matter, just needs to be low sugar and dry) drink it at least 3 hours or more before you go to bed, drink lots of water, and skip your second fruit that day. Make your morning fruit something you are pretty sure you do well with. For example, I don't do well with oranges, so I don't have an orange on a day I know I am going to have a glass of wine in the late afternoon. And, drink the wine slowly, because it will go right to your head!!!!! Your tolerance goes way down while on hcg.

I've been on this for 2 years too...and I "indulged" pretty much in each round, at least a couple of times.....sigh.....
