    Grammy's inflammation smoothie...daily?

    Hello,

Just wondering...as long as the calories are added to the daily total of the 500 calorie limit, is it adventageous to have a daily or every other day inflammation smoothie ala Grammy? Any contraindications?

I plan to have a smoothie daily for the first few days of this round to help in getting rid of the loading "malaise". VLCD One begins tomorrow. But maybe I should continue the practice

    Thoughts?

    Thank you,

    Cindy

You can if you wish. You would be drinking one of your vegetable portions and using your lemon allotment.

    Thank you.

Lemon or lime ok? Or is a lime considered a fruit serving, such as an apple? Only lemon is the extra?

You are allowed the juice of one lemon per day. That is in addition to your two fruit servings.

Lemon is on protocol. Lime is not mentioned, so that would be considered an experiment.

If you have a major overnight gain, it can be from inflammation caused by a food sensitivity, over-worked muscles, or somekind of trauma. The inflammation smoothie is helpful to calm any of that down and let the retained water exit your body more quickly.

This is best used as either your first or last meal of the day.

Coco, one of our moderators, uses it in place of dinner on a "steak" day.

You can switch it out for lemon if you are in P2. You would also eliminate one of the veggies, since protocol does not allow mixing of veggies at the same meal. I'd leave out the celery.

Question Inflammation Smoothie: Safe for All Phases?

This is best used as either your first or last meal of the day.

Coco, one of our moderators, uses it in place of dinner on a "steak" day.

    Hi Leez!

    So, two questions:

1.) Is the cucumber ('1/2' portion)....unpeeled? Other items list if they're peeled. I assume the cucumber is not to be peeled, but you never know.

2.) Since Coco does use the Inflammation Smoothie "in place of a dinner" on a Steak Day, which is a P3 correction day strategy (and not P2)....well, then I assume the Inflammation Smoothie is fine for all phases, is that correct?

On the hdi blog, it does state that the "Dandelion or Hibiscus Tea" can be used in "all phases"....but this is not said about the Inflammation Smoothie, even though they are both listed together on the same hdi blog page. I assume that the Inflammation Smoothie IS allowable in all phases, but since that is specified for the teas and not for the Inflammation Smoothie, when listed together on the same blog page, I have to wonder why it's not stated as such. Hopefully it was just an oversight -- to mention one Correction Day is safe for all phases and not the other -- and that fact was just accidentally left off. The ingredients appear to be fine for P3 and compliant; with the hCG Protocol though, one can never assume too much. Better to verify than assume.

    //P3 stabilization issues//

I went from my 128.6 to 130.4 (eek!) overnight. It appears to be from inflammation. So I'm looking for a reliable anti-inflammation correction day.

And fwiw if I'd known about Inflammation Smoothies being safe in P2 to use, I'd probably have been using it then!! Inflammation has been off the charts this round. I cannot WAIT to get back to using Hucog and NEVER USING OVIDAC again, lol. Next round hopefully will be everything this round never was.

Have been stabilizing at 128.6 all week, which is 1.2 lbs above LIW (which is 127.4).....so, now as of today, I'm up exactly 3 lbs over LIW.

Thanks in advance for the answers to those questions. Appreciated, greatly. <3

Grammy's inflammation smoothie as described would have you mix vegetables, so in that respect it is not P2 friendly.
However, it will work at some level if you eliminate one of the veggies. I would replace the celery with cilantro as it is a diuretic and cleansing herb and can be used with your vegetable choice.

No need to peel the cucumber. I use an english cucumber for this as the skin is very tender. You can also replace the lime with your allowed juice of one lemon for the day, since lime is also not mentioned in the menu options.

Its not included in the article mention because it would not be completely on protocol because of the above two points. With the proper substitutions, you could use it as one of your meals, but not in the sense of a steak day. You would still eat the rest of your items through out the day.
