    Hcg diet after pregnancy

Iím currently 7 months pregnant and Iím planning to start the hcg diet after I give birth. I will not be breastfeeding, so how long should I want until after birth to start this diet? I know I will most likely have to wait until all of the hcg from the pregnancy is out of my system.

It is safe to start the HCG diet about 6 weeks after birth, if you are not breastfeeding. If breast feeding, you need to wait a month after the baby is weaned.

The HCG diet can affect your cycle for about a month or so after finishing P2, so even though levels have dropped drastically, something is still at work. This article by the head physician at DietDoc talks about HCG half-life if you are interested in the clinical information:

6 weeks is also the recommended wait time for any blood tests so that the HCG does not affect your results. By then, the effects of the HCG are no longer present.
