Thread: HCG Diet & Pregnancy Test Coming Up Positive (urine)

  1. #1
Hi everyone. I started the protocol last week and am on VLCD 8. Before I started this, I thought I was pregnant, but the tests were coming up negative. So, I decided to start the protocol. I have been very hungry still and I have been coming up positive on my pregnancy tests. I have a ton of symptoms of pregnancy. Now I have researched online to see if we will test positive on a test and am getting conflicting results. Most are saying that we inject too little HCG to come up positive. I know that I should stop and test in a few days, but I don't want to mess up this cycle. I spent $160 ish dollars for two cycles. So, my question is this, would anyone, man or woman, who uses a pregnancy test to test their HCG to see if it is potent still, go pee on it and see if yours comes up positive? I am on 200IU SQ. Thank you.

About a week or so ago, my co worker that is doing HCG drops thought that she might be pregnant - she took a couple test and they all came back negative. The clinic told her that she doesn't have enought HCG in her system for a home pregnancy test to show up positive.

You probaby should ask your doctor to order a serum pregnacy test..ie the blood kind. That is the only way you will know for sure. Barb

I know... I should have that done. I am kinda scared to tell him I am on HCG. You know how doctors are!

I have been told the same thing, that there isn't enough in our urine to turn the test positive.

Ok, this is crazy, lol! Have any of you peed on a test to see if it is in your system or do you just squirt one of your HCG injections on the test?

LUVMYKIDS, call your doctor. Have them run a blood test to check you HCG level.

P.S. Still, if anyone is willing to test themselves, I would be curious to find out what happens.

I am wondering the same thing, I think that I am pregnant. I have been having many pregnancy symptoms. but I have taken 3 pregnancy tests (each a week apart) while I have been on the diet and they showed up negative. I waited another week since my last negative results and now they are showing up positive. I am worried that it might be the hcg in my system. I am having my friend who is also on the diet take a test tonight so I will you know what her results are.

We do (did) NOT take enough hcg to show up positive. If in doubt quit taking shot for three days...then test. I had husband take the test to just to check, he is not pregnant and the test said he wasn't however mine said I was and , I am!!

    OK...Update.

I had my blood test and it came back at 21.6 for HCG level. So, it was the shots afterall. Just wanted to let you all know.
