The gal who told me about hcg ate a healthy diet and added hcg. She lost about 15 lbs a month that way. But I could not do that and lose. Maybe young ones who don't have a severe weight problem could (like her) but not those of us the protocol was designed to help.

Dr Abbott was a GP and an ER physician, he has no background in nutrition or any type of bariatric medicine. He simply saw as area he could exploit, and as his patient, I deserved better.
I completely agree with this. As I was an actual patient of his I can definitely call him a quack not because if his protocol but because of a million other things. What doc says they are giving you an IM shot with a 1/2" needle?

With regards to rogue HCG diet plans...if it works go for it!! I was all sorts of rogue in my 2nd and 3rd round since the protocol was not working for me after a few weeks.

Orange stevia is good with vodka and sparkling water. So is grape or lemon. I think apricot would be great, too. I would not do orange juice at all. All of those calories...

I love this thread. Am going to look at the other modified diets. I am 15 days into my first round and I need some variety. I've drank several times (and several drinks at a time) and lost-- only .2-.5, but its a loss! I am doing hHcg, and if I can modify this diet a bit and still lose, I'll most likely continue past the 40days.

I'm looking at doing something similiar, I just can't see myself sticking with a 500 calorie a day diet, seems like a disaster waiting to happen for me, 800-1000 is very realistic for me though, especially if I'm seeing progress.

As long as you go into this with eyes wide open I say do whatever works for you! When I was a patient of Dr Abbott I was given incorrect information, the incorrect dose, and was encouraged to buy a lot of extra supplements. Since he is an actual M.D. I have a lot of problems with his for profit attitude.

yea, i tried to look up his protocol, but just seen a lot of money signs. no thanks. lol. i'll just continue to go 'rogue' and add things into my diet and see if i lose. yesterday i added in egg whites as a lil breakfast, shirataki noodles, and cheese, and unfortunately too many vodka's, and was down .4 this morning, so not too shabby. nixed the drinks tonight, but upped the egg whites and kept the cheese, and also mixed veggies (added a little cucumber and tomato to my salad today) so we will see what tomorrow holds. I felt good today and not hungry, which makes this VLCD much more manageable!
