    Need Help staying on program

I just can't seem to stay on the program. I have foods every day that I know I am not supposed to have. How can I just say NO to these foods and have the will power to stick with the program. Any encouragement is greatly appreciated.

This diet is definitely a test of willpower, especially for those addicted to sugar. You just have to do it. It's boring, it's grueling, everything taste the same after 10 days. It's not a diet for snowflakes. You have to girl up and do it.But the weight does come off, the sugar/carb addiction goes away… In my case gives me severe headaches as it leaves my body, and I don't eat sweets.

You have to conquer your problems with food before you will ever lose weight. And only you know how to make yourself say no. This is a lot easier than going low-carb lowfat and going to the gym six days a week for two hours. I prefer to do that three days a week and behave myself. Of course I find myself doing this diet as a cleanse about every two years to get out of my bad habits. I really have to gear up to do this. It's not fun but it works

Have a shelf in the fridge with only the foods you can eat. Don't touch any other food area in the kitchen. Have the meals premade in containers if that's easier. Use lots of spices and garlic and sea salt.

I approach this as a game. Every pound loss is a point. And I buy myself a really nice handbag when I'm done! Trophy.

***If I can give up wine for over three weeks with 4 teenage boys, believe me you can do this.
    Here we go again.
48 years old. 5'8 athletic build.

    P2W3- down 2.4
    End of Week weight: 151.0

I agree with Rose, when I'm on hcg it''s similar to being in the early stages of pregnancy i.e. the thought of most food (even things I love) makes me feel nauseous, and it's hard for me to even eat my allowed foods. This is the easiest diet I've ever been on in terms of being able to stick to it in P2.

Where did you get your product, and what dose are you taking?

I got my hcg from nuimage and I am dosing at 125. It's not that I am really that hungry I guess its just seems like a habit to pick during the day.

Do you have others in your house that keep forbidden foods around? When I'm in P2 , I clean out my fridge totally and it pretty empty with nothing in except lots of water, tea, & p2 fruits & veggies, and my allowed proteins. So there is nothing around to tempt me whatsoever.

    Hi Tam,

I love all the tips you have already received. Especially BlondeAgain's approach to making this a game and all the preparation tips. Preparation is HUGE for me personally:

    - I will make a crock pot dish that is so good, I can't wait to have it 4 or 5 days in a row (hcgdietinforecipes.com.)
    - I also play the "out of sight, out of mind" game with foods I don't want to eat. Get them out of sight! Funny story... at one point, I slapped one of those party wine labels I got on Amazon onto my hubby's jar of cookie butter.
    - Hard boiled eggs are an easy "grab food." A little salt and Frank's hot sauce and it's surprisingly satisfying. I will make a dozen at a time and keep them in the fridge. You can also make your own healthy mayonnaise if you want to keep egg salad in the fridge.
    - I will make huge salads for days at a time- when I'm hungry, it's in the fridge calling my name.
    - I keep individual bottles of water in my fridge and grab one the minute I open the fridge door. I start drinking while I'm deciding what I want- hydration is so important, but this also serves to give me that "instant gratification" of giving "something" to my body... that "something" just happens to be nourishing and healthy

I'd also add... try not to focus so much on the diet but on what you are adding and doing for your body. Focus on what you are GIVING your body rather than what you "can't have." Anytime I used to think, "omg I can't have THAT..." well, then guess what? I wouldn't stop thinking about it until I had it. It's a very effective perspective shift, and it has been life-changing for me.

Ok, and here's the rebel in me... (Grammy, please don't chase after me with a stick!) If I am seriously struggling and I think it is more out of habit or maybe a food addictions... that is when I will use an appetite suppressant temporarily. Again, this is not something I recommend as a regular thing but it has helped me to kick the habit of reaching for my son's bag of Annie's chocolate chip cookies out of habit! After the first week, I don't seem to need those appetite suppressants and I don't think about those cookies anymore. In fact, I'm just starting week 2 for this round (bye bye baby weight!) and I can safely have those cookies on the counter now (not hidden) without feeling the urge to shove one (or 6) in my mouth.

Now, if it's not "habit" that is causing you to stray... then I would consider adjusting your dosage. 125 may be great for a lot of people but I personally do much better with a higher dosage and I have far less challenges at around 175. Even Nu Image's recommended 200 works fine for me. So... something to consider.

Also.... I wrote this post on how to fix a cheat: How to Fix a Cheat on the Hcg Diet - You may find some helpful tips in this. Again, it's really about changing your perspective and your focus so you aren't feeling so "out of control." The truth is, the Hcg Diet is not for the faint hearted but, luckily, it is possible to make it work FOR you so you can get where you want to go with as little struggle as possible.
