Hello JR users! i just wondered if there was anyone still using the protein shakes recently!

I just purchased a bag of the Strawberry Whey Protein. I have seen very mixed reviews, some stall, some gain, most lose!!!

I "loaded" yesterday and had a shake as "dinner" because I am going to the gym, not great for loading but I needed the protein.

Anyways, so I am planning on using this as a meal replacement for dinner because I ride the bus and once i leave work @ 5:30pm get to the gym by 6:45 and home by 9:00-9:30 so it is not ideal for me to go home and make dinner and eat that late.

The main reason why I got the mix was because I am happy with my HCG weight loss so far and I am starting a short 3rd (ish) round. but I MUST work out, I need to tone, and shape my body and I feel HCG will not do that. However, HCG AND exercise will. So, anyone had experience with JR Whey protein as a meal replacement and working out?

Like I said, I loaded yesterday @ 181.something and this morning I am down already to 179.something so, seems promising just wondering anyone elses thoughs or experience!

    Thanks!

I used the Jay Robb vanilla during most of P2 and had great success. I would mix them with "green smoothies" (handful of strawberries, handful of spinach, scoop of protein powder, ice, 1-2 c water) and had great losses. I did this because I got sick of most of the vegetables. Don't be scared of putting spinach in it, you cannot taste it at all.

I also mixed it with water for a few days when I was traveling, and still had losses. Worked for me! Good luck.

    [B][Thanks almcneil!/B]

I have used spinach in a smoothie I used to make, I always knew it was there, not bad taste- Just grainy. Do you use fresh spinach leaves?

I want to try to blend up some strawberries with it but I don't eat fruit in P2... right now at least.

I'm glad to hear you got good losses with the mix and water! I plan on only using water for now... But I did just mix a little bit of coffee for some added caffeine before the gym.

Did you use it as an addition to your 2 meals or as a meal?

It's been about 3 years since a last update to this forum.

Do people in P2 still use JR shakes? Is it working well for you? I'm thinking about using it because I can't really stand the sight of meat anymore.

I'm no longer on the protocol, but I used the JR shakes with really good results. That doesn't mean it'll work for you so just beware they could cause you to stall!
    Owl righty then!
