    Question Lost 4.4 lbs. on a CANDY DAY - WTH!!!

    Hello Everyone,

    I've been MIA for the past couple of weeks due to being busy for work, and "entertaining" a visiting family member all last weekend.

    During her visit, as well as my honey tagging along, I ate horribly for three days. I had tons of sensitive ingredients due to eating her favorite which is Mexican Food (cheese, tomatoes, corn products - all bad for me), also throw in ice cream - dairy is bad too, and a few margaritas. The next night, it was gelato, fried seafood - shrimp, alligator tail, french fries, and two rich shake-like drinks made from Bailey's. Of course, I avoided the scale until she left the next day, but I knew it would be bad. Sure enough, I was 5 lbs. over LIW. As you may remember, steak days don't work for me - since I usually go up .8 before dropping back down a bit the following day due to digestive issues. I wasn't really hungry that day (similar to the way we feel after loading) and it was also a busy day, so before I knew it the day was over and it was too late for me to eat, and all I'd had was a cup of tea in the morning. I did however, have a bag of Jolly Ranchers in my car. There were about 6 of them left, and by the time I got home, I had eaten all of them. I then had a bottle of water and went to bed.

    Lo and behold this morning (not knowing what to expect) I hopped on the scale, and was down 4.4 from yesterday. Just to make sure it wasn't a fluke or sleep in my eyes, I jumped back on it two more times, and sure enough it was true. ALL I COULD SAY WAS WOW!!!

    Anyone else ever have this kind of result with anything other than a steak, egg, greek yogurt, or other meats day?

    Here's my theory: I imagine you got that result because of your slow digestive issues. Your body was able to release the extra inflammation weight easily because pure sugar goes right to your blood stream and pretty much bypasses digestion. So you basically did a fasting day.

    The best loss I ever got was 5 pounds after a greek yogurt day. But that was after a 5 pound gain overnight from the massive inflammation that happened when I inadvertently ingested some corn starch in a restaurant meal, corn being one of the most reactive foods for me. ( I thought all tempura was made from rice starch---wrong!) So I'm not sure it is directly attributable to the greek yogurt day, or if I would have gotten that same result from any of the other correction day methods.

    Hi Leez,

    I was thinking along those same lines, since I also lose on a day that I have coffee sweetened with non-dairy creamers, I have no issues with sugar, which isn't that big of a deal to me since I'm not a really a sweets person . I'd give anything to be able to eat popcorn everyday instead, which is my favorite food. A greek yogurt day would never work for me, and would cause me to gain 5-7 lbs. overnight instead of losing. I am extremely sensitive to cultured dairy (yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream) products. I once gained 3 lbs. overnight from eating just a TBSP of Greek Yogurt.

    A greek yogurt day would never work for me, and would cause me to gain 5-7 lbs. overnight instead of losing.
    Doing an egg correction day was the thing that finally tipped me off to my egg sensitivity because of a big gain the next day. (NOT what I was going for!) But I suppose that was as useful as having the correction day actually work.

    I've tried the hard boiled egg whites day a couple of times and lost 1.6-2.0 lbs. but I'm not that big of an egg fan since I don't eat the yolks at all, unless they are mixed in scrambled when added to Chinese Fried Rice.
