Thread: Low Losses - Need Advice and Encouragement!

  1. #37
Ah that might work! Good Idea. My weight loss too has slowed a bit because I am back to weight I have been for a bit as well. If I see another 0.2 loss tommorrow and thursday then I might consider the apple day. I am worried about eating apples all day, don't like them that much. But I have heard they produce satisfactory results.

It ain't fun, I'll tell ya. I like them ok, but 6??? I'll be ready to skip em for a few days after that. I just reread p&i and the plateau I mentioned was if you're at that weight for a really long time--10 years it says! That is not the case with me.

However I am not giving up. These first 9 pounds feel great and I just have to ride it out.

10 years? Hmm...Ok then i don't think I have been at this weight for 10 years either more like 2 years then i gained. So i will probably lose a bit of weight then. Don't give up. You are doing great. I wish I was at your weight, Thats my goal 145. I am sure you don't have much to lose. what's your goal weight? You are not far right?

Didi - I am barely 5'2", so I would ideally like to be in the 120ish range. So I have a ways to go. I know one thing, I will continue this in 23 day rounds. The 43 days is too long.

Hey Ali, keep up the good work. So you're almost to P3 if you're going to do a short round? I survived the first day of P3 yesterday w/just a .2 gain from my lowest weight (I'm confused if it's the last weight with the drops or the lowest weight at all which happened on the 3rd day without drops?)

Yesterday I felt like oink oink oink and I really didn't eat that much! I ate cheese (OMG, that was amazing!) and 6oz of Fage (fat free). and then P2 stuff. But I also went to a neighbor's and ate a big huge 80/20 cheeseburger and I thought I blew it. I woke up at 4:30am and couldn't sleep because I was convinced that I gained back a ton of weight. I finally gave up and weighed myself. But like Didi said, anytime I have weighed after having less than 7 hours sleep, it's been a really small loss or even a gain.

So, only +.2, whew. I hope your apple day gets you back on track

Thanks, Vicki (had to hunt for your name!). I still have two weeks of P2. My next round I will only go 23 days. I am quitting P2 3 days early, so that I am not doing the VLCD on Father's Day. I want to be able to eat something a the big family meal, lol!

As for P3, as long as you stay away from starches and sugars you should be good, right? A big fat 80/20 burger has neither! Cheese is going to be one of my first things, too. Cheese and wings from Tony's Pizza Oh, I could go on and on. This apple day makes me dream of food, lol. VLCD does not do that.

    Good luck in P3!

    Hey Ali,

Thanks for the heads up on the signature, I figured out how to change it so I could get my name in there!

How did your apple day go? Are you back on track?! Good idea to end VLCD so you can be FREE on Father's day I did the same thing so I could do that for Memorial Day.

Yesterday (P3D2) I gained almost two lbs!!!! Peanut butter?? only 1 tablespoon - Whole Foods brand, so no sugar, hmmm. Oh well, I got up this morning knowing that I was going to run for the first time in months. So I weighed (ugh!) and then made myself get out there and ran 2 miles before it got super hot. I *hope* I will be back on track by tomorrow. So far I've just had Fage today and maybe I'll just do that all day - based on all the successes I've read about it. I know I should be doing a steak day, but I had my heart set on running and knew I couldn't go without eating all day waiting for a steak.

I hope you have a good day!

    Hi Ali,
Ok I see. But I am sure you will reach goal soon. You are doing great. How are your losses today? How is the apple day? 23 days is good. I know 43 days is long but for some reason I am one of those terrified of P3 people. I'd rather be on VLCD LOL. I am on day 40 today but continuing for a little longer. Let me know how your apple day went.

    Vicki,

I lost 3.75 pounds from the apple day...but i will not say the apple day was a success until tomorrow when I don't gain it back!

I have heard different things about peanut butter and p3. Maybe just takes a few days in p3 then try it. It has lots of starch, though, I think, which may be the problem. I also love sunflower seeds on my salad but they have a fair amount of starch as well.

  11. #47
Ali, 3.75 is GREAT! I'm looking forward to see what you report today about it sticking - hope so!

Thanks for the PB/starch comment - I had NO idea that there was starch in peanuts. I read online where a botanist talked about how the starch got into the peanuts during the growing process. Very interesting. guess I will wait til P4 to do PB again.

Didi, how much longer before you start P3? Come and join me?! Today is my 4th day. I learned the hard way about the PB. I am still 1lb over my low weight (not my lowest weight on drops, my lowest weight that I hit AFTER the drops, which one do we base it off of??). But I'm not going to do a steak day, I'll just see what happens today.

It was so exciting to wake up on P2 each day and get on the scale first thing and check for a loss. Now it's scary to wake up and step on the scale because it could be a disaster.

    have a great day, girls!

Gained 1.25 today. Not what I was hoping for but at least it wasn't all 3.75! I know that water was a lot of it; I can tell from how my rings are fitting. They were loose yesterday morningand tight yesterday evening so I can't say I am surprised at the gain. Like I said at least it wasnt the whole amount. If I gain tomorrow I will be so upset.

    I go on p3 on 6/18.
