There is a specific sequence for mxing that involves several steps. You have it somewhat backward. You start by adding a small amount (1-2ml) of your allotted bac water into the HCG vial, roll it gently around in your hand to dissolve the powder before transferring to the mixing vial.

This is assuming the HCG is lyphillized (freeze dried powder). If its liquid already, then you just have to account for the amount in your total ml's of bacteriostatic water.

    The steps are outlined here.
    Subcutaneous Injection Mixing Instructions

What you need to be careful about is to equalize the pressure each time you withdraw or insert into a pressurized vials. Both the HCG vial and the sterile vial are pressurized. If you don't equalize the pressure, you will either get liquid squirting out at you when you insert the needle through the rubber stopper, or you will have great difficulty getting anything out.

So if are are going to add X-ml of liquid to a vial, you should first draw out that same amount of air.

What helped me get the sequence in my head is to find a youtube video that shows the process step by step.

If DietDoc didn't provide any alcohol swabs or a mixing needle, you'll need those.

Leez~ Thank you for all of your help! I have watched a few videos, but have only found ones that take the bac water and mix it with the hcg and then you have your bottle. I guess it was just confusing me because I am using a seperate mixing vial. I believe I have it figured out now...at least I think I do. Thanks for the link also, that is very helpful!

    Thank you so much!

Yes, you have an extra step using the mixing vial, because you have to transfer the HCG to it. But for me, the main value of the videos was getting the pressurizing techniques right, and how to position the vials and needle in the transfers.

Make sure you have all your supplies assembled and a list of your mixing steps. And a time to do it where you have no distractions and won't be rushed. It helped me to mentally go through the sequence a couple times before I actually did it with the real stuff.

Hi Leez ~ Question for you. I was just looking back at some notes from when I did injections (Nu Image) back in 2010 and I lost an entire week of loses due to my dose being too high. They started me at 200iu, then Grammy helped me go down to 150iu which was still too high and I settled at 125iu which was perfect. This time around, do you think I should start at 125iu? Since it has been so long I just don't know. Where would you start if you were me? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Also, when adding bac water to my powder hcg, I need to first take out the same amount of air in the powder bottle before adding that amount of bac water, correct? And same goes for the empty sterile vial....before adding any amount of liquid, first take out air from that vial and add the sane amount of liquid as air I removed, right? Gets confusing.

I ordered the bac water and extra mixing bottle on Sunday, they shipped on Monday (Paid for 3 day priority shipping) and apparently it won't be here until Friday by 9 pm! My plan is to start Saturday so I really hope it gets here on time! Makes me mad when you pay extra for shipping and it still arrives later then expected!! Ugh!

    Happy Days ahead!

    Thanks!

They should refund you for the extra shipping. If it was in the US, you should have got it in 3-4 days without paying extra shipping. At least you are getting it on Friday and not Saturday.

Yes, even though its been a while, you should start your next round at the dose you finished with in your previous round. 125iu is a great starting dose. And its likely you won't need much adjustment this time.

yes, you have to make room for the liquid you are going to add. So withdraw the same amount of air from the vial that you plan to put in. Otherwise, when you add liquid, the extra pressure will squirt it back out of the hole in the rubber stopper.

When you are removing liquid, first add the amount of air equal to the amount you plan to remove. Otherwise, it is very difficult to withdraw the liquid. It will feel like there is a lot of suction and the liquid will keep wanting to withdraw back into the bottle. If you have remembered to add the air, the syringe will almost fill itself when you take some out.

Do this with all three bottles: HCG vial, sterile vial, bac water vial.

    Is that more clear?

    @Rachel Welcome to the forums!

You have 6000iu to work with.

So divide 6000 by your intended dose

    150iu will yield 40 doses
    125iu will yield 48 doses

@PhoebeS: This video shows how to equalize the air pressures when you are using a sterile mixing vial
