Another plea for help with dose!

I've posted on a couple of threads already, but am starting a new thread in hopes of getting some help from the veterans on these boards.

I am on R1P2D10, which makes 12 days total, including my 2 loading days. My dosing schedule has been (injections, DietDoc):

    Days 1-2 (Loading): 150 IU
VLCD 1-2: 150 IU - hungry all day, including after meals
VLCD 3: 100 IU - Dropped dose. Still very hungry until evening (8pm)
VLCD 4-5: 125 IU - hungry, better in evening (8-ish)
VLCD 6-7: 2 skip days - not much hunger
    VLCD 8: 110 IU - still OK
    VLCD 9: 110 IU - hungry in afternoon/evening
VLCD 10: 110 IU - strong hunger in a.m. and after eating lunch (right now)

I'm confused how to interpret this. So far, my best days in terms of hunger have been my 2 skip days. I'm wondering if the HCG is doing anything at all.

Do I go lower still, to 100 IU?

Weight loss has been fair. One good day @ -2.2 lbs, otherwise varies from -0.2 to -1. From load weight I've lost 6.6 lbs.

So far I'm OP, but this has been pretty uncomfortable. Would appreciate any help.

The problem is the way you've adjusted has muddied the waters. You shouldn't adjust a dose without skipping and you shouldn't do 2 skip days in a row unless you were only an insanely high dose like 300 iu or something. You might try 125 iu tomorrow. Your hunger today could be because you've had 2 skip days and a low dose for 2 days so far. It's hard to know though with the way you adjusted. Good luck!

For future reference: You have to do a proper skip day (which means no dose at all) after 4 days on the same dose to get a clear diagnostic.

I was working off of suggestion from this page that recommends dropping from 150 to 100 IU if experiencing hunger after loading (I had been on 150 IU for 4 days at this point, but had experienced hunger from first day of VLC): “So on day 3 before you start the diet, lower your dose by 50 iu. So if you’re taking 150, lower to 100 iu FOR THAT DAY ONLY. The next day increase to 125 iu.”

    https://hcgdietinfo.com/adjusting-hcg-dosage/

I obviously didn’t pay attention to the fact that I then needed to stay at 125 IU for 4 days before doing a skip day. (The first one was intended, not the second, which was inadvertent. Long story.)

Anyway, I stand corrected and will do as you suggest. Back to 125 IU tomorrow!

Thank you both for quick responses.

My update: I'm still trying to get my dose right. After 5 days at 125 IU and fighting strong hunger, I took a skip day (this was a regular skip day as I've planned a 40 dose round). Hungry all day, not really better in evening, so I went up to 135 IU. Initially this seemed better--I even made a note that I thought I'd at last found my dose--but then hunger set in again after 2 days. Stayed at 135 for 6 days total and then another regular skip day. Again, hungry all day but I thought hunger seemed stronger in p.m., so I went up again to 150 IU where I've been last 2 days. Very hungry today but trying to hang in.

The irony, of course, is that 150 IU is where I started this journey and only moved from there after 4 days. Well maybe not ironic because I'm definitely hungry.

Anyway, as I understand instructions I will need to tough it out for a couple more days before taking yet another skip day to decide whether to change dose again. I have to say the hunger signals seem pretty constant throughout the day without a clear reading that it's better/worse after 4 pm.

This is now P2 day 25, which means I'm a little more than half-way through my first round. I worry that if this keeps up I'm not losing the "abnormal" fat (whatever that is) and I'll have problems with stabilizing. And that it will make embarking on a second round pretty impractical since I don't think I could go through this twice.

I've read plenty of posts where others have had problems finding the right dose, but then everything seems to resolve within a few days. If anyone has had a similar experience after weeks of struggling with dose and come out the other side, I'd like to hear about it. I have to say I'm losing hope ...

    TIA

Ugh. Hunger is the worst! If you seemed better at 135 IU for a few days, then started feeling hunger again, I'd suspect 135 was too high. I always have to reduce my dose a few times throughout the round.

Generally, to make a difference, you need to either up or decrease your dose by 25iu. Using smaller increments generally just causes confusion.

However, since you've been unsuccessful at getting it right yet, you might consider switching to IM injections at 125iu. That dose seems to work for everyone, and the IM delivery usually fixes the dose problem. You do want to get it right as soon as possible, because you could be losing the wrong kind of fat, which will hamper your efforts to stabilize afterward.

Not sure I'm ready to go the IM route ... don't have the right gear (needles) for one thing. Injection site would be another issue--probably thigh but I need to look into this more. So, since I'm on P2 Day 25, looks like choices are:
    1) Transition off P2, go through 6 wks P3/P4 and rethink if/how/when I want to do another round. (I do have one 5000 IU vial not yet used);
    2) Transition off P2 but treat as an interruption? (Only if I think I will restart IM within a few days)
    3) Would it work to continue subQ but increase my calories (a la HCG 2.0) until I find a good dose? Or am I still risking bad results?

I've been trying so hard to stay OP despite these setbacks, so am disappointed to think I need to abandon the round. But would appreciate feedback just the same. Thanks again.

You inject in to the upper hip (reach around to do it yourself)

You could try one more skip day and try to figure out your dose. It seems like you should be about ready to try one. Remember that the only time your hunger level is relevant on a skip day is late afternoon to early evening.

An interruption is only going be beneficial if your dose is right when you start up again. (Unless the interruption is to change to IM. Interruptions (after the 72 hour transition) can be no less than 4 days, and no more than 14 days.)

I don't think 2.0 is going to change your hunger. Wrong dose hunger is not about calories.

Whatever you decide, using IM for your next round might prevent these issues next time.
