Hi AlpacaMom. I can share my experience. I have done 2 rounds and noticed some hunger that first week or two and I attributed it to missing the way I ate when I loaded (P1). Most would say severe hunger is likely due to not taking the right amount of HCG, likely too much HCG, but yours does not sound severe. Typically, I did not eat my fruit with my meal. I had a fruit mid morning, several hours after getting up and then one an hour or so after eating dinner. I tried to make it so that my evening fruit was an apple as it was almost always most filling. I never calorie counted, but I did weigh my protein and looked up appropriate sizes of veggies and strawberries. I don't think you can error too much by eating the larger apples/oranges/grapefruits. Looking up the calorie difference on myfitnesspal.com of a medium apple to a large apple only differed by 20-40 calories, so I always bought the larger apples. Drinking water can also decrease hunger issues. As far as foods that might fill you up more, I don't know much. Celery is typically thought of as calorie free and I often liked to make my own "stir fry" with chicken, celery and Bragg's aminos. (1 cup cooked celery is only 20-30 calories!).

I'm set to begin Rx sublingual troches for my third and last round of Hcg. In the past I've used pre- mixed sublingual Rx drops. I've read that, absorption-wise, the troches may br better. The doctor says my dose will be 500IU. I suspected ( and Grammy confirmed) that it is a very high dose. I also am supposed to skip one day per week even though I'm doing a short roung (which I've never heard of). I am going to cut the troches in half (250IU) and take once per day and NOT skip a day. Is this what you all would reccommed? Also, is quartering the troche an option if I experience dose-related issues ( quartering would put me at 125IU). I wish I'd talked my husband into 'letting' me do injections but, I've already spent the money now! I greatly appreciate and anticipate your answers. Thank you!!!!
we've only run into a few people who have used the troches. 500iu a day is not necessarily a high dose when it comes to sublingual. Sublingual drops dosing runs from 166iu to 250iu twice a day. I'd probably be apt to start with 250iu twice a day and see how you are after a few days. It's easier to lower a dose that is too high by skipping than it is to increase a dose that is too low.

This is the first time I have ever been on a forum of any kind. I am getting ready to start the hcg diet.
[I did a very short round for about 2 weeks and lost about 12 lbs then stopped when "aunt flo" started to visit. Which I heard you should stop taking the hcg injections during that time but continue VLCD. Is that true? I never got back on track.]

Anyway, I have a question about energy boosters and appetite suppressants. Is there a preference? In that last round I was on Adipex-P but I am interested in finding a substitute if possible - that doesn't require a prescription or is addictive. (I did not get addicted to it but heard it can happen.) I have a high tolerance for medication in general, very high tolerance. I was wondering about EBoost & Slim Quick.

Also, what vitamin supplements should I be taking when on the hcg diet? I know about the B12 shot, but what else? I have problems with my iron always being low, along with calcium and potassium.

Also, I heard you aren't necessarily supposed to do exercise when on the VLCD phase. I just started doing Slim in 6 (aerobic 25 mins workout) & LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, I started jogging 2 miles a day @ 6 mph (takes 20 mins) & walking another mile mid-pace (20 mins) to my office & back. Would that be too much during the VLCD phase? If I do all these exercises will increasing my calorie intake to 700 instead of 500 work?

I want to achieve the best results as possible.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm tired of being the way I am. I am so tired all the time, worn out, exhausted, fatigued, & I can barely keep up with my children (mother of 5 - ages 1yr -15yrs). I can't fit any of my clothes - I have like 5 outfits at minimum. I had a miscarriage last December on my birthday & suffered severe depression that was comforted by eating. I gained 30 lbs!!!!!!!!!

    So long story short:
    1. Do you have to stop taking hcg injections when "aunt flo" visits? If yes, how long? Why?
    2. Energy boosters - best one?
    3. Appetite suppressant - best one?
    4. Which Vitamin supplements?
    5. Can you do exercise regimen while doing hcg in the VLCD phase?

    THANKS!
You do not need to stop injections during your TOM.

I often drink green tea or yerba mate tea to help with energy.,

I would not take any appetite suppressants on P2. You don't want anything that would mask hunger.

The only thing you need is a good multivitamin.

As far as exercise, if it's something you are used to doing before starting the VLCD then you can continue it. I would not start any new exercise program while in P2.

I am hungry usually late at night or odd times in the morning. I find myself out of calories too early in the day. Having come from a late night snacking habit, this is really challenging for me.

Any suggestions on the foods that fill but don't take alot of calories?

    Thanks!
you can find the abbreviations here Acronyms and Abbreviations

What hcg are you taking? Have you tried changing our dose?

Calorie wise if I'm snacky I reach for celery or cucumber,.

I'd have to know how it was mixed to know exactly how much in IU you are taking.

You might consider skipping your next injection and seeing if your hunger changes at all. You might need a bit less.

Thanks for getting back to me Beth. My order arrived today (it was a MESS by the way. Not packed properly, top of the pill container was cracked, etc. but, I digress!) the pills are so tiny and I experimented with trying to split 1- it immediately began to crumble : (
So, it looks like I am stuck with the 500IU for now. I'm guessing I'll just experiment with taking it once per day as they instructed. I can always call and have my dose adjusted but, who knows how long everything will take to arrive. Do you think 500IU once per day and skipping one day per week sounds doable ( per their recommendation)?

All you can do is try it.

If you are wanting less than a 500iu dose, don't hold them in your mouth until they are completely gone. It won't be completely accurate, but would be one way of lowering it.

I say try the recommended dosing to start off with and go from there.

Thanks! I'll ask my Doctor on Tuesday. Just finished a bottle of water and 1/2 of a peeled sliced cucumber. I'm feeling much better.
