that's still up for debate. primarily, the weight loss is from the vlcd. most of the research shows that the hcg does not help the amount of weight loss; a few studies shows that it does. that's why the fda will not approve it for weight loss. but those studies don't take into account losing abnormal vs normal fat, or stabilization.

    Tender Breasts? Ouch!

I wish I was talking about chicken breasts but unfortunately they are mine...what is up with this? I have finished TOM so it's not that. It is so uncomfortable. Please advise. Anyone else? Does it pass? I'm on VLCD6 doing 175iu subQ Hucog.

Ruby... even though TOM is over I'm guessing it's still hormonal related. Things should settle down soon....

Hi again, Just a quick question I have 11 days of hcg left and 14 days of vcld - I need to lose 12lbs to get to 135 - If I do not make it to 135 will I still lose weight in P3? If not Should I do a apple day towards the end to help if I am not quite there at my goal? I have not cheated at all, and have stuck to protocol entire time, for the days I have been on it VLCD 20 days so far and have lost 15 1/2 lbs. Is this a good amount or is my loss a little low. Thanks for your advice in advance.

hi there... have absolutely no idea if I am asking this question in the proper place?? new to this kind of thing.. Considering starting this diet and wondered how a no carb/calorie hard alcohol drink every now and then (for example bacardi silver/diet coke) would affect it?

Your loss rate is great! Most women lose between .5 and .75 a day on average over the course of the round. You're just above that. An apple day isn't the answer to increasing losses...and actually they are mostly psychological as you loss some water but then tend to gain it back. Additionally they are only for when you have a stall of 4 days or more. (I wouldn't do one then either, but that's just me.) If you're on hhcg (homeopathic) you could go a little longer than 40 days to get to that goal. As for losing in P3 you don't want to try to lose weight. Some do stabilize under by a few pounds but the goal is to stabilize.

It's not protocol as you probably know. The other aspect is that the sodium and sugar alcohols from the diet coke could be problematic as well as the sugar alcohol effect from the bacardi. It's one of those things that you'd have to decide for yourself. If you're willing to have lower or slower losses and or risk stabilizing after hcg then go for it.

I'm 2 weeks now on hhcg and i am 4 days late with my TOM. I'm like clockwork with that, and now a little concerned that i am off my normal cycle. I did 4pg tests now, so i know that's not the issue.

Is this normal on hhcg for menstrual cycles to be off?

Hi there - I haven't been on for a while this is P3VLCD18. this is my last weekend with drops and I am starving. I haven't had this issue before. Can I quit my drops today and still be okay or do I need to finish my 21 days?
    Take care,

I started a 40 day round on the 1st of March. I see things here about skipping a day. Could someone explain that and is it necessary to skip a day when doing 40 days? I am doing 30 ml (?) injections of RX hcg sub Q. ( I think thats right...lol)

This is Round one VLCD #1 I loaded for 3 days. (day 4 of injections) I have not had any issues so far.. (fingers crossed)...

I have read as much as I can find and it is all very confusing. I have the foods down and the protocols but I need clarification on the skip day.

    Please and Thank you !!

rogue- yes, skip one injection per week.

sandy- are you at goal weight? if so, increase your calories but stay on your drops. otherwise it is a dose problem. you need 23 days on the hcg, at minimum. are you on hhcg? if so, skip a couple of doses of your drops and see what your hunger does. if it gets better, your dose needs to come down. if it gets a lot worse, you need to increase. how many drops are you taking?
