Of course I realize that eating in excess & eating too many carbohydrates is what put the weight back on, and it will always do that to me. Just wanted to know if the body becomes resistant to this protocol if it is attempted after regaining. Atkins folks who lose a tremendous amount of weight their first go round often find that the weight won't budge if they try to do Atkins a second time.

I'm almost done with my third round, and found that my loses were comparable each time. If you're sticking to the protocol, you shouldn't see much difference round to round, but people tend to "modify" a bit more with each round. I crept back up about 12 pounds after round 2 and was doing a third round to get back to where I was. As of this morning, I've dropped below my lowest weight and plan to keep going for another week.

I thank all you returning members so much for posting here, I think it's really invaluable. So many people regain weight or go off the diet never to be heard from again. But people who fell of the wagon and share their lessons really contribute to this forum because the rest of us can learn from your insights and/or mistakes.

While everyone agrees HCG makes losing wt relatively easy, people are mixed about the maintenance part. In my opinion, the ease of maintenance trumps in importance, and if it's so hard to maintain after hcg, then this diet really isn't better than any other diet out there..

I'll be entering p3 in a few weeks and would be interested in what regainers have to say about mistakes they have made in P1-P4 and what they think contributed to their personal difficulty in maintaining...

I got my HCG in the mail yesterday and now I am just waiting for mu vials & needles so that I can start. I am hoping they come in the mail tomorrow since I want to start my diet on Sunday! I think I will only do one day of loading & eat relatively P2 on day 2. I have a lot of weight to loose so I don't want to have to worry about a ton of loading weight to come off!

I will also be doing this round the 1st few weeks without a scale since it's in storage in Austin. I won't be able to return to Austin for at least another week... so I am kind of happy I won't have the scale to worry about each day & getting discouraged. I will just have to go with how the clothes feel! I know with how I am feeling now... completely disappointed in myself for going on this binge eating lately and put on so much weight... I KNOW I won't be straying from protocol!

    Thanks for everyone's comments!

I am completing my first week of R3 P2. Something to keep in mind when considering regaining the weight lost is HOW the weight is gained. For me, I became horribly ill with pneumonia and bronchitis the first week of R2P3, following by injections in knees for arthritis, all while moving into my house. No way to follow proper diet that's for sure. I think the timing of it all just flat out killed the possibility of actually stabilizing.

R2P3 and P4 I was doing correction days like every third or fourth day for gosh sakes, still keeping an extra couple of pounds on. This round the absolute focus is on stabilizing after P2, I'm intending on doing the Leptin Reset in P3. While the correction days help, it's not how I want to live the rest of my life. I was able to stabilize like a rock after R1, having basically whatever I wanted, which makes it all the more frustrating!!!

Bluetechseeker = I was basically like you after R1... I could eat whatever I wanted without moving at all on the scale! I didn't creep up a bit in P3 or P4 even if I ate starch or sugar. I made the mistake of doing a short round =( I couldn't stabilize... was working 12 to 24 hour days at a restaurant where I had been recently hired and here I am about 3 months after my short round having gained ALL of the weight back from the short round AND R1 =(

Definitely NO more short rounds EVER! I think I am actually heavier now than I was when I started R1 and I am super sensitive to eggs which I never was before. I can't even eat them without getting sick =( and I LOVE eggs... they are so simple & quick! I will have to try the sensitive thing that's listed on here to get over it once I am well into P4 after R2.

I managed to gain yet another 15 on top of the 15 I lost and gained and knew that something had to give. I spent a long time (maybe a month) really getting my head around another round. I'll be honest, this one has been very difficult and I've had 3 days that I just went around my kitchen like a hoover vacuum eating all the things I was NOT supposed to. I suffered some setbacks every time but never stopped the diet. I'm not on day 24 and have lost 15 lbs. I'm glad I stuck it out and plan to continue with the P3 and P4 as protocol suggests. I will then do another round to take off the last 15 lbs.

My advice to you is to make sure you're mentally in it and refer back to your previous round (that you were successful on) many times throughout this one. It helped me to know I've done it before so I was able to push through the tough times. This diet certainly isn't easy but it really works!!!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Btw, I do sq injections. I'm thinking about doing prescription subling on my next round tho.
This is so me! I am on day 8 and I do great during the week then the weekend comes and I also hoover the fridge!!! UGH! I am trying so hard to get my mind into this because my only other option is weightloss surgery - but it's just so hard! I'm not physically hungry but I am mentally!! If anyone can relate - how do I stop this mental block?

Stellabella - Both rounds I used injections. I at 1st went through the clinic for the hCG diet was given awful info spend hundreds on shakes, protein bars, vitamins only to gain weight in my 1st 2 weeks. I then found this forum & lost 18 pounds. Had I known about this forum I'd have probably had some amazing results and never needed a short round.

My short round was also injections and the 23 days plus the 2 loading, 3 VLCD following the diet but I couldn't stabilize and gave into some bad decisions. I ended my R1 in early March and LWD was 135... I stabilized at about 138 & started short R2 in May. So about 7 to 8 weeks between R1 & R2. I am starting R3 now with VLCD1 being tomorrow. I hope to loose at least 30 in this long round which will put me back at 130ish then continue Paleo diet from there to loose how ever much more wants to come off.

My ticker says 150 but my scale is in storage & I imagine that I am at 160ish... personally I don't want to know how much I weight right now I am so disappointed. I was fitting into my size 2 jeans and yesterday I had to go buy a size 10 just so I have a pair of jeans to wear till I start loosing some weight =( I am VERY hippy... so all.... literally ALL my weight is in my waist =( I have tiny waist, musclular legs but BIG BOOTY! My arms also have quite a bit of fat on them but I imagine maybe my *** ran out of space HEHE!

Anyway, definitely a learning experience which will keep me on track! I will weigh myself in a few weeks and see where I am. For now I wil just pay attention to inches. I am hoping since I just put on this weight within the last few months it hasn't really had time to settle & it will come off FAST!!!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Whenever I feel heavier than normal I cannot bring myself to step on the scale...

Anyway, your answer scares me because I thought that by "short round" you meant "incomplete round" (less than 23 days). I was intending to do a 23 day round but after your experience I am guessing you would recommend that I extend it to 30 days??

30 days might work better than 23. I know now that a lot of people stray from a short round because of that reason of not being able to stabilize. 30 days is almost there so that would probably be a safer bet I'm sure. Just make sure you stay to protocol on the less than 40 day round cause that only causes problems as well when you cheat.

I hope it goes well for you! In 2 weeks I will see where I am at as far as the scale goes & start paying attention to my looses. Today is VLCD1 for me!

Yourhcgdiet? They don't sell RX anymore. When there is hunger, something is off and it's really easy to regain that weight. But the good news is that you can do another round and get it off. What dose did you do?
