Hmm, it might be that you've lost all your abnormal weigh then, Olivia. That would account for the hunger and exhaustion.

I might have although I am not yet back to my pre-illness weight (which started all this gain)
Also my skin has got very dry, which did not happen in R1.

Today I finished with the injections and yesterday had some salt and am now up almost 3lb in 24 hours. Do you think that this round had put my body into starvation mode and I will now gain it all back plus more?

I am quite depressed - suffered a lot this round and maybe it will have the opposite effect?
I will lay off the salt today and continue doggedly with the vlcd for the 72 hours and pray.

Any advice is very very welcome. I am quite at a loss.

I am so grateful I can bounce this off you!

This round might not have been the best thing for you. It sounds like you might have been dehydrated. You can't go by weight either, going back to what you were once. Our bodies change and the fat layers change. Praying for you today!

    Thank you, dear Colleen.

I kept up a lot of fluids, so I hope the dehydration is not a problem (maybe my body needs some fats, like omega 3, but I will wait until P3).

I read through lbs and inches again this morning and from what he says about people who more or less reach their normal weight, it looks like it was right to continue for the 23 injections and then do the 72 hr. vldc, which means 2 more days.

If I feel really week and cold (which has happened so much this time), perhaps I should slightly increase the protein - do you think this makes sense? I just really hope I did not get my body to go on starvation and will gain everything back, because there really was some extra there in the wrong places (I couldn't fit into anything in my wardrobe before P1) and those are now ok.

Thank you and thank you again.

Olivia - You say that you added salt yesterday. Have you been going without salt? Salt is something your body needs so you really don't want to deprive it of salt. If you are up 3 lbs as hard as this is, I would still go with today's weight as my LIW instead of struggling to get it down with endless steak days, your body is trying to tell you something and it would be best to listen to it. You have probably lost all of your abnormal fat and that may be why you have been suffering.

I don't think you will gain it all back plus some. If it was me I'd get some good proteins, fats and oils, and veggies in, make sure you continue to drink lots of water and don't add any questionable foods until you get stabilized. Remember in P3 you still lose inches so you may end up with a higher amount on the scale but your clothes will fit like you want them to.

Congrats about being within your average weight range.

    Hi Linda Lou,
Thanks for coming in to support me!

I just ended the injections yesterday and am on my 2nd day of vlcd until Tuesday, so I am trying to stay with the 500 calories. I only lost 8 lbs this whole round and it has been up and down all along (I did not 'cheat' at all, btw).

I decided to have some meat earlier today and it really did help me a lot. I hope that once I am on P3 all will stabilize, since I am not hungry as soon as I have proteins. I hope I am doing the right thing.

I will let you all know, because if someone else gets into the situation I had, it really is very hard - you spend all these days weak and cold.
I don't feel like I got to my ideal weight, but maybe this will have to do for now. I can try for the last 5 lbs after a good break and recovery.

I will work hard to stabilize and look forward to having more energy in a few days.

Your support is really invaluable, since I live alone in a new city !

    Thanks!
