Thank you both for your help. I think I failed my "first day at Hcg School."
I have to say that I think I probably messed this up, though I followed the instructions as posted on
the informational website of the company. The biggest problem was that it was not made clear about
the vacuum in the bottles...! That is what I was trying to say about things being "vague" and that there
were a bit more involved steps in between, small problems that could crop up.
These are the problems I encountered...
Mixing:
They told me to hold the needle when drawing the water, or the water would get pulled back into the
vial. That was not a problem. Sorted.
When I went to put the water "carefully so as not to disturb the powder" (this was the only instruction
in the video) ...as soon as I put the tip, the teeny tip into the rubber stopper, before I could even angle it to avoid the powder...the water went WOOSH into the powder! Oh, dear. The vacuum had drawn the water in completely into the center of the powder. I am now thinking that the solution is ruined. Is it? ( I still went ahead and used it.)
Injection:
I drew the solution as described. There was a huge air bubble that was not apparent till I took it out. I was supposed to draw the solution to the 17 mark, I had the needle in the bottle and when I took it out...there was the huge bubble. I got rid of the bubble by first, tapping the injection tube gently, nothing. It was not really a bubble, it was more of an air gap near the top of where the needle goes in. So I pushed on the
plunger, got rid of the air bubble and ended up with 14 of solution instead of 17. At that point, I was out of the vial (as I said) and did not want to put the needle back into the vial because of possible contamination.
(I am guessing here.)
I got to the actual injection of the solution...that was so easy and painless. Totally
painless...for anyone wondering about the injection. That was the easiest part of the whole process
and I thought it would be the most difficult.
Questions
(There are no instructions on the video to warn about how strong the vacuum is in the HCG powder bottle. Please be careful. Hold on to the plunger, tightly,as you insert that needle in or it will spray that water like a hose at a five alarm fire!)
1. Is my solution ruined?
2. Do you get rid of air bubbles while you still have the needle in the vial? Does that mean you can pull
the plunger in to get rid of air, tilt it and reload the little extra to fill the air pocket? This, again, was not
made clear.
I hope one of you can answer these questions.
I thank you from the bottom of my bacteriostatic water bottled heart.
