Where's Grammy? Not Hungry? How much to eat? Where to post Questions?

    HI!

I always try to stay POP.

Today is P2D2. I am not Hungry. So my 1st question is How much do I need to eat? I read in Pounds and Inches that you could eliminate anything you wanted, but I have never face this before and yesterday just made myself have a cucumber, boneless skinless chicken breast (100 gm) and some strawberries. How much do I need to eat? I am drinking water and black coffee (2 cups).

Also, is Grammy back? I love her and was just wondering.....

Also, where is the best place to post questions?

Finally, I have been exercising for the past 5 months 6 days a week to get stronger and for a healthy heart. I do cardio and weights in classes at my local gym. I really enjoy this (words I never thought I would say LOL). Is it ok to continue?

    Thank you for your reply!

hi rkthin, I remember your name. Yay for POP! Its the way to go for me too.

grammy is not officially moderating, but she still pops in here and there and answers questions.

P2 forum is the best place for P2 questions, but all new posts show up on the new posts feed, so we'll see your post no matter where it lands.

You can continue any activity you are used to doing in P2. If you are doing really strenuous workouts, you may need to dial back a bit. You'll find you won't have the endurance to really push or start anything new.

The protocol says you can eliminate things from a meal if you are too full to eat them. I don't think its a problem to be somewhere between 350-500 calories, but if you are consistently lower than than that, it could cause you some blood sugar problems and might interfere with your progress.

I'm here, my friend! I don't think it's wise to constantly fall WAY below your calorie count. I've seen lower losses among those who do so I'd try to at least get in your protein and at least 1 fruit a day. What are you doing differently to have so little hunger? Maybe we need to bottle it.

Hi Grammy! Glad you are still here! I am doing a few things differently that I think contribute to not have any hunger.

First off! I'm always grateful to you because I think you got me on the correct dose of hHCG so That keeps the hungry away--so far!

Also, This is kind of weird but easy. When I wake up I have a big glass of water. I started working out a lot 7 months before this round. I was starving all the time. I was never Thirsty. But my doctor said a lot of people get confused signals in their brain between thirst and hunger, and feel hungry when they really are thirsty and insisted that I drink water. That really curbed my extreme hunger after exercising. So now I drink water when I first wake up and make sure I drink throughout the day.

I started exercising Grammy because I have had so many issues with my thyroid resulting in the latest weight gain. I thought exercising would help me get healthier and keep the weight off between rounds. So maybe the exercise contributes to less hunger? I'm not sure but it's a big change from previous rounds. I have cut out gluten, other things that might affect my Hashimoto's but still have a thyroid that produces and quits. If you have any other ideas about this, let me know. I take Armour Thyroid.

The other change is I take these B vitamins that have the active form of Bs. I take Jarrow "B right" B complex (Amazon) and the Kirkland (Costco) B-12. These really increase my energy on a daily basis! It's huge!!!! I also take vitamin D.

I think moving forward when I see a 5 to 7 pound weight gain with no real reason I have to remember it's probably my thyroid--but the problem is even if they adjust my does it takes a few weeks and by then I can be up 15 pounds. So I'm not sure how to handle this. Please let me know what you think.

Have a great weekend and I am happy and grateful that you are still around. Love your books!

Those are all terrific changes! I know what you mean about the thyroid. I have the same issues. My thyroid got all out of whack when the doctor wanted me to try a blend of Synthroid and Cytomel instead of compounded thyroid and I did NOT do well on it. I didn't feel well and gained about 10 pounds. It's so aggravating! Fast Metabolism Diet is my usual go-to when that happens.

Hi Grammy! You helped me so much last year after seeing all of your posts. I tried the hcg 2.0 protocol this year and it's hit or miss, so I'm returning to the original protocol.

I have to get blood drawn soon at my doctor's office. Should I be concerned about a setback from the iodine used on my skin? If so, what's a good alternative?

    HI Grammy!

Thank you for that tip! Next time I will try the Fast Metabolism diet. How long does it usually take to lose 10 pounds on that so I have reasonable expectations?

Also, no excuses, but I got so so frustrated I really sank eating wise. That's when I joined a new gym--very low key (Reasonable, called Crunch, no YMCA around here) with really great classes--cause I would never push myself on my own. Giggle. I'm glad to know I am not the only one who has the "thyroid sputter pack on the pounds".

Grammy have you tried NP Thyroid? I seem to do well on that one. WOW they all love that darn Synthroid right? Sorry to hear that their "cocktail of Synthroid" messed you up weight wise. I hope all is back to normal now!

    Take Care!

Usually 10 will come off during the 28 day length of the FMD round. Not as fast as hcg but you get to eat lots of yummy food1

I went to Naturthroid but started having trouble with that darned phantom smoke smell again so I went back to the compounded thyroid. It vanished again so I decided to try putting my pills out and taking them around 4-5 am when I get up to go to the bathroom. That seems to be working right now so I'm hopeful. My insurance pays for Naturthroid (at least most of it. I have a $60 copay for 3 months worth) and doesn't for the compounded ($250 for 3 mos) so I'd like it work. LOL

Colleen, Do you know what it is that is causing the smoke smell? Maybe its one of the fillers?

I've been happy with WP Thyroid and don't react to it. It is porcine, but has minimal ingredients: Inulin, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Lactose Monohydrate. It used to be called Westhroid.

I wonder if that would work better for you than the Nature Thyroid. My insurance covers it. I have a $10 a month co-pay for my 97mg dose. I usually have to wait an extra day for my pharmacy to fill my prescriptions. Apparently, I'm the only customer they have that uses it, so they don't stock it.

    Hi Leez and Grammy,

WP thyroid may be a good solution! I had phantom smoke smell on synthroid. My Dr insisted it was due to a sinus infection, after running many tests, and Saline spray seemed to help.

    Take care,

Walgreen's couldn't seem to get WP Thyroid. Where do you get yours, girls? The smoke smell thing happens when I'm not fully optimal. It even happens with the compound if I happen to miss a day or take it too close to food. It happens to Hashi's patients for some reason. So weird!
