    Question Wound Wash?

The only wound wash I've seen comes in spray cans. So to use it I just spray some in a clean jar and draw the liquid out with a mixing syringe (sublingual)? Or do you know of a brand/place where it doesn't come in a spray can?

Also I've heard that the wound wash tastes okay and the bacteriostatic water tastes icky. Any experience with that?

    Thanks,
    Teresa

Yes just spray some out and draw it up. I don't really notice that much of a taste difference. They both taste just a little bit salty but really the amount is not much so there is not to much of a taste to me.

the wound wash is powdered- then you mix it yourself. bact water tastes fine, from what i've heard. and this actually begs the question as to whether or not distilled water would be just as good. the wound wash does not have a preservative in it, so perhaps that's really not all that necessary for SL.

Now I'm confused because I thought it was a must to have the preservative in it. I thought I read that wound wash does have the sodium chloride in it. And I can't see how it's powdered if you are supposed to spray it on a wound?

Also read that distilled water is NOT okay.

tia- ellie buys bags of it and mixes it herself. wound wash is sodium chloride, but it does not have a preservative in it. in order to have that you have to order sterile sodium chloride meant for injections.

    Margie,
    This time I went to
    http://www.mountainside-medical.com/...atic-30ml.html

Mountainside medical and bought 25 bottles of sodium chloride for injection, and use it work sublingual.
    it's only 29.00 for 25 bottles of 30 ml.
    Great price.

Oh, I thought that sodium chloride was a preservative. Well I bought some of that wound wash from Simple Saline. And I read it was okay to use just that. Let me know if it isn't.
