    RE: Ketosis - I find this to be a mystery (for me). I have been using Ketostyx for over a year, now & then. Mostly whenever I have "nothing-but-protein" days, or fasting days, OR I have to use a Steak Correction Day (in P3).

    So far, I only get in Ketosis on Fasting Days or Steak Correction Days. And then it only shows a tiny little bit of pink. I've never been able to get to dark pink, much less purple!!

    I'm glad you brought it up! Now I feel I need to try tomorrow morning, while I'm in P2. I ALWAYS lose in P2, so I never think about it. Will be interesting to see tomorrow if I get any color at all.

    superdigestaway.jpg I also take Magnesium and Potassium every day and never have a problem. Gentle and works for me. Not pushing the brand, just chiming in on another option.

    When I did Atkins about 10 years ago, I was in high ketosis everyday for 30 days and lost 33 lbs so I know being in ketosis will cause weight loss and that's why I decided to do hcg 2.0 protocol this round but 10 years ago my body was very young with no hypothyroid or post menopause which has been my biggest problem with the weight gain, its not always about the food we eat but the hormones or lack of, so I'll just keep tracking ketosis and see what happens. I know lots of people doesn't get into ketosis, my daughter never do when she lost 80 lbs on herbalife, so I think its a individual thing and depends on what your body wants to do, so Im not going to stress about it

    Pamla: thank you for the suggestion, I will see if I can find it here in town, would be nice for a change to be regular

    Poobear: hun I switch from OP to hcg 2.0 I feel I need more protein and I never ate the fruit or melba toast anyways and I feel much better in the evenings when I tend to want to eat while watching my tv shows, lol, Im a late night snacker and need to break that habit, asap

    You can toss some high dose Vit C in with your magnesium to stay regular. Your body will use what it needs of the Vit C and the rest will pass on through. Just don't up your dose of Vit C too fast or it will pass through with force LOL It can safely be used daily without any side effects.

    good morning, I had a whoosh today of 1.4 loss, woo hoo, I did a few things that might contribute to the loss, I upped my water 24oz., did a detox bath and upped my protein, I switch to Hcg 2.0 seems to keep me satisfied and not wanting to lurk in my kitchen when watching my tv shows, lol, so no cravings or just that empty feeling you get from OP. I did check my ketones and Im now starting ketosis, it went from beige to light pink, so something is starting to happen. I was very surprised since I had a gain yesterday, but I tend to lose in chunks and not everyday
    So how is everyone doing today? very quite on this thread

    Poobears: thank you for the advice on the vit C, I take so many supplements for my thyroid and menopause, I'll have to check to see if any of those has the vitamin C, I do take Vitamin D for my hypo and Ive heard magnesium is very good too, so I will be trying to get more magnesium too

    Kansas: I was doing some research on ketosis, it can take from 1 to 7 days and some never get into ketosis, I guess if your following the keto diet, its very important to check your ketones through out the day. I also read if you get into the dark purple most likely your dehydrated so that's not a good thing, so I don't think we should stress about trying to get in to ketosis, for some it just wont happen

    About the keto-strips: if you're drinking a ton of water, the strips may not turn color even if you're in ketosis, because all that water dilutes the concentration of ketones in your urine.

    I've switched from OP to 2.0 and like it much better.

    Hcg 2.0 411

    I'm gearing up for another round. The first time I tried 2.0, I switched in the middle of the round and continued losing well. The second time, I started out with 2.0, but didn't lose as well that first week. I love those first week losses! So now I'm debating... Start with 2.0, or start with OP and switch after first week? And then I remembered that I came up with my own version that was somewhere in between. Hmmmmmm. I'm going to go see if I can find that!

    ETA: I found out my own version didn't work as well. And while I remembered slower first week losses, they weren't much lower, LOL.

    Starting 2.0....today first load day. The plan is to have very high fat today and tomorrow with only carbs in wine. This is my first time on 2.0 ...soooo we'll see. I like the idea of more protein and mixing veggies but I REALLY don't like tuna.....so I'll be checking out the other proteins! I want to lose 12.4 lbs! that's cause 155 is the goal and this a.m. I'm 167.4.

    Hi Janeen - so which protocol are you going with? Do you have the oil allowed on 2.0?

    Quiltart - I've had the same can of tuna in my pantry for 2 rounds now; can't bring myself to eat it. One thing I love about 2.0 is that there's so much more food variety, I don't have to eat foods I don't like. It's restrictive enough as it is without that! Don't sweat the tuna!

    He everyone! Just thought I would pop in and say hi. I think 2.0 is a great updated version. Lol I always mix my veggies and have never had any problems. I also like that you can eat more protein. How are you doing?

    About ketosis....depending on what fruits and veggies you eat on protocol, you may or may not go into ketosis. And with all the water, as someone mentioned, your urine will be more dilute too, even if some ketones are present. I wouldn't worry about it.
