based on my own experience with rounds...and most especially this last one...I purposely upped my protein..oh..I used the excuse that I don't weight and eyeballed the amount, but I knew I was upping the amount of protein even if I wouldn't say so outloud. I also used a bit of olive oil. that was about the only fat I would allow myself but stilled I did use it. I used it in my first round where I lost 34 pounds. ( but then I really could say I didn't know...because I am Italian and who needs to read instructions?! got it..no fat...500 cals! how easy!) ( snort) Anyway...I never felt better on a round. I was not exhausted, defeated feeling. To combat the boredom I did use a variety of veggies too.
aside from a dairy craving...which was because I was not using HWC in my coffee...my attitude was very good and over all felt it was my best round.

Now I went to the link Christy provided before and did the BMR and Janeen you helped clarify my mis understanding of it on protein calories in comparison to OP protein calories. But I will say I am still not 100% clear on how much 500 PROTEIN calories really. I am glad I am not doing a round right now..but it feels very unclear, but my vinnie is going to help me download the free version of the book so that might clear up a lot for me.

I've been reading some more. I think in 2.0, you get 2 things -- protein and veggies.

For protein, you count the calories, not the grams. So if you get 500 calories and you choose chicken and tuna, then you get 500 calories of chicken and tuna. Keep the fat minimal, but whatever is inherently there will be included in the calories.

Then there are the veggies. You don't have to count the calories and you don't have to subtract them from the 500, but you have to count the grams of carb. No more than 30.

Christy, can you confirm if this is correct, or enlighten me if it is not?

Ok, I can confirm it for myself, since I finally got that far. And I tried out the protocol today.

I never did get the BMR calculator thingy to work, so I just found another online. At my age next month and current weight (167), my BMR is 1429, so my protein calories (40%) would be 571. At goal weight (150), my BMR is 1364, and my protein calories would be 545. That's more than I've had yet.

I also didn't have any trouble keeping carbs below 30 g. Without any fruit and some careful choosing, no problem.

I'm still pissy about having to add in 5 lbs worth of load into the equation to get that average though. For some reason, it just doesn't make sense that others have these consistent losses and 1-2+ lb swooshes that I didn't experience. I'm still questioning what is going on in my body that is preventing me from seeing the kind of losses others are experiencing. Is it hormonal? Are there food sensitivities that arise during the round that I'm not catching? WHAT IS IT?

I do not know anything about this newer version HCG 2.0 protocol so I will interested in learning about more. At this point, I'm too much of a scaredy-cat to go over protocol, but I sure appreciate others taking the leap. And I still don't get the whole low carb thang while in P2...how much lower can one get? I believe yesterday my net carbs was 30. Is that all that high?

Thanks Janeen for starting up this thread.
30 carbs is the 2.0 limit. If you actually follow the original protocol with the grissini, 2 fruits, only 200 g meat, no fat, and enough veggies to get to 500 calories, it's more like 60 g carbs.

I had more consistent losses in my earlier rounds. Later ones have been more dramatic. This one is just ridiculous.

I will say, though, that if you are eating anything you are sensitive to, it will slow you down big time. Most common offenders in P2 protocol are wheat, eggs, and dairy, and also nightshades. I am sensitive to cabbage. Go figure.

I'm definitely low carb since I don't get close to 500 cal....no grissini, only 1 apple, 4-4.5 oz chix or fish, sometimes strawberries & generous servings of veggies.

I haven't had cabbage 4 a wk or so & having more consistent losses...could cabbage be a problem? Maybe.

Last question: Are u injecting same amt of hcg as original protocol?
    Round 3:
    SW (8/1/15): 134.8 lbs. (+5 lbs R2 LIW)
LIW (8/29/15): 123.2 lbs. TOTAL LOSS -11.6 lbs.; 17.75 inches

    Went from a tight size 12 (164 lbs) to size 6 (123).

Apr 2016 Update: In the midst of Round 4 with a goal of ~123 lbs AGAIN, but more importantly, I'm looking to lose inches. 4/10/16: 126.6; size 6s loose.

    About 160 IU
I'll also mention that when I don't eat enough, I stall.

This is really more like the protocol I have been following. I am always a little rogue, as I need more protein than the OP allows. My daily food intake looks like this:
B: handful of frzn strawberries, handful baby spinach, water, 1 scoop unsweetened whey protein powder, stevia to taste in blender.
L: Celery Soup (with cabbage & a little tomato) and appx. 4-5 oz chicken or beef
D: Salad with cucumber, tomato, celery and 4-5 oz. grilled chicken breast (half of on large breast,) sliced on top with a squeeze of lemon.

No other snacks, I drink tons of hot tea, and lots of water. (appx. 80-100 oz per day.)

So I think my carbs are probably under 30. Does this sound like the 2.0 protocol?

    STARTING WEIGHT: 157.4 (LIW 150)
    HEIGHT: 5'-9"
    GOAL WEIGHT: 145

So, I tried 2.0 yesterday. I was MUCH more satisfied. Almost felt like I'd been cheating, and I was really worried about a gain. Nope, stuck at 167.2, right where I was yesterday.

I'm going to play with 2.0 for a few more days to see how it works for me. If the scale starts moving, I'll stick it out. If not, I'm going to end this round.

Agree with the feel more satisfied/almost felt like cheating - that's how I feel on 2.0 as well, which is why it has been significantly easier to stay on. I started tracking my Protein/Fat/Carbs % (along with all the other stuff I'm keeping up with!); saw one 1.2 loss after eating a combo of 71% protein, 19% fat, 10% carbs - was it a fluke and my body was ready to shed a pound anyway, or did it have anything to do with it?

    I did 66% protein, 25% fat, 9% carbs yesterday, got a 1/2 pound loss today. Hmmmmm . . . . .

Janeen - think you might be able to give 2.0 at least 5 or 6 days? I'm afraid you'll not see measurable change in a day or 2 - BUT you do what you need to do!

I've been between 166 and 168 since day 12. I'm on day 26. Wed - Sat is 4 days. If I don't start getting losses by then, I am done with this round.

Oh, wow, yes, that is 30 days, be done with it!

I'm still 9 days away. I need to stop stressing over "do I take it another week?" and WAIT ANOTHER WEEK. Geeze, I so frustrate myself. I've just never been this close.

    Hey!

I've found my way over here too. I am intrigued by 2.0. as it turns out, its a little more than what I've been doing in these last two rounds. I started my previous round on October 4 went six weeks. I lost from 217 - 181. I started this round on Jan 1, and have lost from 181 - 168.

But most importantly, I had the BEST p3 of my life between these two rounds. No matter what I ate (especially around Christmas time), I was 182.4... over and over again. I was actually surprised on the day I started by injections again that I woke up to 181, because that was an odd, new, low for me.

I stabilized great.... and that's what I'm hoping for this round. I did not go crazy with food, but I wasn't afraid of it anymore -- which is GIANT. I don't want to go through life fearing food, carbs, and calories. Thanks for starting this... will be reading!
