    Pandy: That's exasperating!

We're ordering in tonight from Boston Pizza and I'm getting the Grilled Chicken Pecan Salad, from which I'll remove the pecans! And I'll probably use a different dressing. (I usually pack Walden Farms.) If we were eating there I'd get the steak and veggies. I've had that before with no problems.

Grilled chicken is usually safe, even oven roasted, like Swiss Chalet. Steak is good. And because you're not counting veggie calories you can have a garden salad, plus steamed veggies, plus your protein and not look like you're trying to starve yourself!

I'm still hanging in there. I plan to go for 40 days - from what I've been reading, the longer rounds are worth the time.

Week three weigh in. I'm up .2 pounds - for the whole week. Sounds like a 7 day stall to me.

The 2.0 protocol says its Ok to have a protein shake, but it looks like that has to go! I'm skipping it as of today. The scale has to move soon, downward that is - ha ha.

    Hi,

Thanks for asking about maintenance! So far, so good. Not perfect, but good. I'm staying within 2 pounds of LIW pretty easily, but only because I haven't allowed the sugars and starches back in yet. If I do that, experience tells me that I'll struggle, lose focus, and the scale will start creeping up.

Annja - can you give some examples of what take out dinners look like? This sounds very enticing to me Yay for getting into the summer clothes. They will fit perfect in no time! That is my goal as well. Getting comfortably into my summer clothing.

Cindy - how long of a round are you doing? It's encouraging to hear that the cravings, hunger, etc. aren't an issue with 2.0!

Toonsmom - how is maintenance going for you? Any issues stabilizing after 2.0?

    Confession time!

Yesterday I went to the Italian Shop, which has an amazing deli, bakery, etc. I went to pick up cakes for 2 of my kids' birthday celebrations tonight-pizza party-, and walked out with $250 worth of other groceries. Most of which are definitely not P2 friendly! So last night we enjoyed meatballs, fresh ravioli and red sauce...along with the requisite salad. I did weigh and measure everything in MFP and think I stayed around where I'm supposed to be (except for fat- I was over) but this morning I was down almost a pound and a half!

So this begs the question, if we keep our carbs below 30, and I'm usually waaay below, can we enjoy the occasional splurge meal, (okay, it was only 5 small raviolis!) or will I still pay for this?

Today I'm planning to drink like a sailor (but water!) and stick to protein. We'll see from where they order the pizza tonight. I might be able to handle one piece. I hate always telling people "I'm dieting" especially when they think I don't need to! (I do...)

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Round 6: 166.4 to 144. Now in P3.

Annja - I wonder about that too - if we are way low on carbs, can we have a splurge meal? To me, a splurge meal is a bigger serving of chicken or ground chuck.

And I know what you mean about not wanting to tell people you are on a diet "when you don't need to be on a diet". I figure no one is going to force feed me and what do they care if I skip out on eating some of the food being served - someone else is always happy to eat it.

So- yesterday I skipped the protein shake and lo and behold - I was down a pound this morning!
Next weigh in is next Wednesday.

    Glad you are doing well!

I will eat more protein, if I feel like I need it. Although I'm allowed almost 600 protein calories, which is A LOT! So, that doesn't happen very often. I haven't had great losses, or even stalled when I've enjoyed my protein shake as well. And enjoy them I do! I make it with almond/coconut milk and then drink it with a diet orange pop like a float. Heavenly! But somehow, either through a combination of factors or something, it hasn't resulted in great losses. However, once these few days of "splurge" are over, I'll eat super clean and then try again.

    Yay for the pound loss!

Aaaand after pizza and two kinds of cake, it's a protein only day for me! Hopefully it won't bring on a stall, but I couldn't NOT taste the cakes I'd brought. I do wish, however, that I'd resisted the extra slice of New York Cheesecake at the end! Up half a pound...guzzle, guzzle water!

I just had to share that I lost 27.6 pounds in Round 1 of HCG using a lot of the principles from HCG 2.0--more protein, protein shake breakfast, different vegetables, mixing vegetables etc. So it IS possible to have a big loss with 2.0!! In fact, the better I was at keeping the lean protein high, the more I lost. Now the trick will be maintenance in P3/P4 while I wait to do Round 2, but I'm feeling very hopeful!

So hubby surprised me with a night at a beautiful hotel on Sunday night. We went there right after church so I ate lunch, supper and breakfast out. I wasn't able to weigh myself until this morning, but thankfully I was down over 1/2 a pound! I love this protocol...

I've decided to finish my bottle of drops, which will probably take about a week. By then all the birthday cake should be gone.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

I never did get the BMR calculator thingy to work, so I just found another online. At my age next month and current weight (167), my BMR is 1429, so my protein calories (40%) would be 571. At goal weight (150), my BMR is 1364, and my protein calories would be 545. That's more than I've had yet.

I also didn't have any trouble keeping carbs below 30 g. Without any fruit and some careful choosing, no problem.

When I used the apps one said, "Your Daily Calorie Allowance on HCG 2.0: 638, with a maximum of 120 calories (30 grams) from carbs.

So basically 518 Calories from a Protein Source alone and then the remaining 120 calories in veggies that total a max of 30g Carbs.

As an easy example, I could have 3.5 (100g) servings of Salmon per day @ 146 calories each serving for a total of 511 cals and then my additional veggies up to 120 cals or 30g carbs? Am I doing this right?

I don't know about that app. I've never used one that gave a total calorie breakdown, including the carbs. In the book, he never talks about carb calories -- only protein calories and carb grams.
