Thanks. I've been reading Siesta Beach, too. For those who are curious, Siesta Beach is textbook Atkins induction (only for 4 weeks, not 2) plus Hcg.

My review so far: I like very much of what he has to say about how things work and how they affect weight loss. But -- I am not impressed with his losses. This is a big guy who is very active, and he lost 13 lbs in 28 days. Now, those are good losses, but they are typical of someone on Atkins, not someone on hcg. Big guys on hcg can lose closer to 30 lbs in that amount of time. Even tiny, older women can usually lose around 13 lbs in 28 days on hcg.

So, I think what he is really doing is Atkins, not hcg. The hcg seems to make him feel better, which is good, but I don't think he's harnessing hcg' potential. I would wager he would have lost that much on that diet without hcg.

But there's another caveat. Most people will lose well on Atkins, including me. BUT -- after about 5 days, it usually stops working for me. Maybe adding hcg would keep it working?

I'm not dismissing this approach. It would certainly be easier to stick to this diet than to any form of hcg protocol, either original or 2.0. Maybe I would try it to tweak things back down after I am at goal and have a little creep.

Yeah it's all very interesting. I mean let's face it, we are all different and different things work for different people. I've had 40-78 g of fat the last three days and have had losses. -3.1, -0.8, -1.6. Now I don't know what the next few days will bring if I keep that up, and the net carbs have been 30-40. I also burned 480 cals during exercise yesterday so I ended up eating 1300 cals total. And still showed a loss. I wish I could do a real research study on myself, haha.

Hi everyone- glad to see there is a 2.0 thread now! I did this last summer and did well - lost about 12-14 lbs and kept it off for 4 months very easily, then gained about 8-10 back during the holidays (which I swore would not happen!!) It was due to the sugar which I completely stayed away from for months. So lesson learned! Anyway I use the patch and started VLCD again on 4/6. This time is a little frustrating because I am not seeing the drops I used to. I started at 142.2 and on Sunday was 137.2, so 5 lbs in a week but then today it was up 2 lbs but I really felt lighter and my clothes fit better. 2.0 tells you NOT to weigh yourself everyday, but it's so tempting to. I am planning on 30 days so I'm sure it will work out, but the scale can be a real *****! 2.0 fits into my daily life so much better than the traditional program. I really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything- BTW I'm a vegetarian and eating egg whites mostly due to their high P/FC rating. Also fat free cottage cheese is good too. There are plenty more options for meat eaters (as usual) Good luck to everyone and I look forward to hearing your success stories!

Also I have not been meeting my 500 calories a day of protein, especially if I exercise. i saw on her that some may think that will cause a stall.

Moon, we are opposite! I can't have dairy or eggs!

Queen, my protein calories are 545, so I just have 3 servings of 180 calories each:
    Can of tuna
    Can of salmon
    6 oz chicken breast
    9 oz cod
    6 oz turkey breast

Sometimes, I'll have less of one of those and add some langoustine lobster.

So I have one of those proteins and black coffee for breakfast. For lunch, I'll have another protein and a salad. For dinner, a third protein and some cooked veggies. Pretty simple.

Good Afternoon! Today is my 1st day on P2 of the HCG 2.0. I am very overwhelmed....feel like I don't know what I should eat...which is silly bc if anything, I have more choices than ever when I did the HCG 3+ years ago! I thought I "knew" the original diet and would do well with this modified one. But, I don't feel like I know what I should do, so I just kinda resorted to the old way, lol! So, for lunch I ate a can of white albacore tuna in water, drained...I did not add anything.

I wonder if we are "allowed" any almond milk or other milk on the HCG 2.0? I can't seem to get an answer on anything from the 'customer service' number I got with my kit and book. I am so glad to find this group and hope I can gleen lot's of great advice and be able to offer some as well! Looking forward to chatting with others doing the 2.0!

I considered almond milk and finally decided against it. It is mostly fat.
