    Hey Carry,

I think my kidneys are okay...I hope. The tuna were the 5 oz.cans. Today was the first day back on OP and I feel better already. I was eating 5-6 meals a day with a little protein and of course, veggies, but I still felt so gross. Maybe it just isn't for me but it works for others. I may try it again in the future but for now I'll just do OP. What sucks is that my 0 carb jerky arrived yesterday and now I can't have it until P3. LOL!

But it will be there before you know it!

My friend was telling me about a tea she likes, African Red Bush but surprised to see when I looked online, it's the same Rooibos that I like. I still have some of the tea wrapped and stored, so I bet it's still good!

Found this about Rooibos: "Over the past few years, rooibos tea has been proven to reduce insomnia in its drinkers, which makes it even more promising to enjoy rooibos tea for relaxation."

Anyone has tried exogenous ketones along with the HCG? Wondering if it would help with increasing weight loss and ketosis while on P2?

I haven't ever tried it. I just use straight MCT oil.

I personally don't think there is any need for any but HCG itself while on this diet. As it works so well. But that is my opinion

    2.0 Protocol Help Needed.

This is my 6 hcg round 2nd time using drops and 2.0 Protocol. I purchase the book 2 years ago and did well on the plan. My husband died in Sept. and I have been "carbing out" pasta breads etc. all comfort foods. He battled with cancer for 6 years. The last 2 were the worse and so what I lost came back with a vengence. Now I am ready to get serious because I am starting to feel physically crappy. My a1c is the highest it's ever been 6.7. Before starting this round I weighed at Dr.'s office 204. She wrote me a script for the drops, which I purchase locally for $150 this included 40 syringes. Started the drops and loading Jan. 10. I am down 11 lbs doing the protocol from memory and reading posts. My BMR calculation today at 193 says 714 TOTAL calories of which (including) 120 (equivalent of 30 grams carbohydrate) can come from carbs. When I read different post it sounds like some people are using their total calories on protein then adding 30 grams in vegetables. Others are using their total calories in protein plus mtc oil, then adding 30 grams in vegetables. This is confusing. I wish I had the book to clarify. This is how I am understanding the protocol. My TOTAL calories of everything is 714. From that I can have a maximum 120 calories equaling 30 grams carbohydrate. The MTC oil calories are deducted from the 714. So 1 tsp in coffee deduct 33 cal. Am I correct? Can someone please post the overall Protocol. Thanks

    Just so you're aware:

"The healing diet which is a gluten and dairy free ketogenic diet with moderate intake of protein and plenty of animal fats does not work as it should be as long as there is excess iron in the body."

This might explain why some people don't do well on a gluten-free & dairy-free, ketogenic diet.

So sorry for the tremendous loss, Harvester. You are going through a lot. Bless you.

Getting your health in order definitely is a priority. As far as 2.0, I certainly believe the same 500 calories is not appropriate for every single body. We are all different sizes, heights, activity levels... and I AGREE, it was not clear to me about the calories--even with the book! Even the FB group had various answers. I think because we're all different in how MCT oil behaves, an adjustment might be needed. Experiment and see.

If MCT oil is new to you, start off with 1/4 tsp... do that for a few days to see how it affects you.

For me, I took the allowable protein calories, chose as high as possible P/FC protein foods, utilizing those calories to meet the total protein calories according to BMR, and made sure the veggie carb count is no more than 30 gr.

    Keep us posted.

Hi, Harvester. I've been out while sick with the flu. Lucky me.
But I see you have disappeared, too. Ending my round this Friday, so not sure if we'll cross paths again.

Best wishes to you on your round.

Are You wanting to use it as cream for coffee. Otherwise it's not on the protocol as far as I know. I guess you would have to try and see if it's okay for you too use.
