Been taking the Potassium Citrate for a couple weeks now, and I do feel it has helped with my leg aches at night while I sleep.

    Thanks for mentioning it..

So, what are your overall feelings about 2.0? Yay or Nay?

I personally think Nay, but also think a modified version like I did isn't too bad if you don't have much weight too lose.

I know the Original Protocol does work, it's just limited in choices of foods to eat.

For me, either way it's the stabilization I have trouble with, and seem to end up doing a round again. I just need to be more committed I guess and really watch what I eat more closely in Phase 4

    Hi Jayk and spshell,

I eat keto diet, so I do "3.0" which allows up to 30 g fat per day, 20 g carbs, the rest protein for 650 to 750 cals per day. This round I lost 8 lbs which is typical for me, whether I do 2.0 or 3.0.

I take Slo Mag (magnesium citrate) for restless legs.

Your macros sound a lot like what I've heard used during a "reshaping" round. You weight loss will be less, but stuff redistributes itself better.

I'm on VLC Day 3 now, and once again I wish I hadn't loaded with sugar. I'm back just below my beginning weight (202.4). This feels like so much more food than I need, and I know it will be huge from an energy standpoint as I move further into the round. My blood sugar was at 92 this morning. I have to decide when I'm going to stop taking the Metformin. (No, I'm not asking for medical advice, this is my own decision...)

    Hi Megan,

I had forgotten about "reshaping" rounds, but I did lose a lot more off my waist than I expected.

I hear you about sugar - I had too much at the start of my 2nd round and it took me 2 weeks to lose my load gain! Since my regular diet is now low carb / high fat, I don't really load anymore.

I started my HCG journey when my A1c labs came in high, in the summer of 2017. My numbers were normal by December, and I never had to start metformin. I have been eating keto and maintaining well, but have still had to use HCG to drop weight. I am just 3 lb over my goal weight after my 5th round - grrr!

I hope you have great results and can reduce or eliminate your meds.

Speaking of Metformin... I just started taking this. I was just trying to search the threads for info on people taking it while on Hcg. I just placed my Hcg order.... wondering if I should continue taking Metformin or not.

    Hello spshell,

I am not a doctor, but I suggest you do not stop taking it. Even with doctor supervised weight loss programs, they don't have you stop or reduce the T2D meds until your blood lab results show your A1c levels are reduced. Definitely schedule labs in 2 to 3 months, to see if you still need the metformin.

Hello all. Starting a round tomorrow and *considering* switching from OP to 2.0. Before I do, I know on OP average loss by a woman is .5lbs/day. What is it on 2.0? I've got enough for a long round but wanted to break it into two smaller rounds of 30 days. I have to lose 40-50lbs before June and was hoping 40 (20+ per round) would be the diet. Are you finding with a 30 day round, your average loss is .5 or better? Is OP better at that final loss #. I can deal with the limits of OP for 30 days if that gets me a better loss vs 2.0 if the 2.0 is really just allowing you to go longer and not get tired of the diet. I've attempted to find this answer out but can't and don;t have the 2.0 book yet. For insight, I'm 5'1, am at 190 and really want to get around 150 before the beach this year.

VLCD Week 2 Down 3, 2 days left in the week
9.6 lbs gone in 12 days. Average of .8/day

    Hi Kristy

I think you get better losses with OP, and if the limitation aren't a problem for you, that's the way to go

I think 2.0 is more for people who find it hard to stick with the limitation of OP. Others will have a different opinion than me

I did a modified version of 2.0 one time when I didn't have much to lose, and wasn't sure I was ready to do OP

I did okay, but there is no guarantee for sure on what one will lose.

Good Luck , whichever one you choose.

Smile Quick question for you! About your calorie counter!

    Question for you!

Hi, Janeen! Where did you get the nifty calorie counter. I'm mentally preparing myself to go on the HCG 2.0. Your counter seems like an easy tool to use! Thanks! Suzeebongogirl
