    What is HCG 2.0?

HCG 2.0 has been a popular discussion topic on the forums for quite some time, and now its been given its own discussion area. Welcome, explorers!

HCG 2.0 is an updated version of the HCG protocol which claims you can achieve the same weight loss and benefits of the original protocol by adding protein calories and arranging the nutritional macros so that your body is put into a ketogenic state.

Overview points taken from this review:
http://martinetrinder.com/explain-hcg-2-0/ (check the link for food lists)

HCG 2.0 is a Ketogenic Protocol developed by Dr. Zach LaBoube, author of HCG 2.0
Dr. Zach's blog: What is HCG 2.0?

HCG 2.0 is not a 500 calorie per day program.
HCG 2.0 has a formula that you use to determine how many protein calories you can have each day.
The formula is: Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) x 0.4 = your calorie allowance per day.

HCG 2.0 uses a formula for you to determine what proteins are appropriate for this protocol.
The formula is: Protein / Fats + Carbs = SCORE
Proteins recommended have a score of 3 or more.
Use daily calories for your proteins (proteins must be very lean and weighed raw)
HCG 2.0 encourages 15 – 20 grams of lean protein for breakfast.

    Vegetables rules:
Your vegetable consumption must not exceed 30g.
You may have any variety of the vegetables (listed).
Make sure you keep your carbs at/or under 30g per day.
You may steam, boil, or grill your vegetable without any extra fats.
You may combine several vegetables at each meal.

    Fruit rule:
None allowed except for juice of 1 lemon per day

[If any of the above information mis-represents the HCG 2.0 program, please document and let me know so I can update this post with correct info.]

    DISCLAIMER:
Some have had success following this variation of the Simeons protocol. We love success! But be aware that everyone can respond differently according to their particular metabolism and challenges. We know the original protocol works. Trying any variation should be entered into with the full awareness that you are embarking on a personal experiment.

Those struggling with hormonal issues may wish to pass on this one, as long term low-carbing can exacerbate those conditions, especially in women.

The author's full name in Dr Zach LaBoube.

He has an app available that does the protein calculation, and gives you the first chapter of his book. The book is also available on Amazon for about $12.

DietDoc seems to follow HCG 2.0 protocol.

Thanks for that gz. Correction made.

I used DietDoc for my last HCG round and it also seemed to me that their program was very similar to the 2.0 plan. I don't know enough about HCG 2.0 to know if it is their program bible, but its interesting that you made that same observation.

Because oil isn't an issue, you could have a gentle massage. But deep tissue massage is still counter-indicated, or anything that includes pounding.

Thank you . I’ll have to cancel my deep tissue massage.
