Today is my 32nd shot (including skipped days) and I've been keeping my mixture in the fridge. It is medical grade and mixed to 150 i.u. per shot. I woke up at 5, and was starving by 5:30. I was also hungry yesterday morning as well. Any feedback on how long the mixture will last in the fridge? I know I will have to mix more to finish out this round anyway.

I took another shot today and if the hunger doesn't abate I will mix up a new batch and take another shot. Does anyone have any better ideas?

Its best to remix after 3 weeks if you can. Generally, 30 days is about the outer limit, although sometimes it can last a bit longer. I'd start a new batch and not fool around with wondering.

If the new batch fixes the hunger problems, you will know for sure the old had lost potency.

Done and done. 4 weeks it is. Man, I thought about just ending the round there, (so that I could enjoy some holiday foods...), and caught myself. New batch mixed and I'm going at least 47 days total using the skipped shots. What's left over won't last until my next round so I may see if I can stretch another few days out of it. This is about breaking bad eating habits and building new ones. Thank you! This isn't about the money, not wasting it by mixing another batch. This is about getting healthy. I can get more hCG. I can get more needles.

Now to see if I can get below 190 for the new year! The other reason for remixing is that my weight started moving back up. I figured that was a bad sign, as well as a headache that started this morning. I may invest in some pregnancy tests just to test and see when the efficacy dwindles. At my age, that isn't something I tend to keep in the house!

Thank you for your help Leez!

The hunger went away, so I'm thrilled. I've been on a plateau for about 10 days so my measurements this round should be great. Food boredom is probably my biggest enemy at this point. I measure again on the 29th. I crave canned green beans and cherry tomatoes. It's funny stuff. I'm going to dig out some of my old recipes. I have a taco spice mix recipe that could make a big difference once I find it. 2.5 weeks to go! I'm beginning to think that the 47 day rule is less about immunity and more about boredom.

Glad mixing a new batch got you back on track. That was an easy fix.

Spice can really make a difference. In my P2s, I made a cajun spice recipe that I put on everything I grilled. I never got tired of it. In fact I still use it in maintenance mode.

End of week 5. I'm down 16.2 lbs. and 23 inches. That's still 3.25 lbs a week! I've gone from a size 20/22 to a 16. Weight today was 190.2 and my goal was to be in the 180s by the first of the year. I'm pretty close!

I think what broke one of my stalls was the reminder to drink more.

I messed up my rotator cuff on my right shoulder, no idea how I did it, so considering the pain I'm in whenever I use it accidentally (try to lift the elbow at all front, back, or straight out) I'm guessing there's some inflammation going on there.

I have 2 more weeks to go in this round. This is the longest round I've ever done. In the past it's been speed rounds, cycling through them as fast as possible. Since I ended up right back where I started, I'd say that didn't work so well. This time, I'm focusing on building good eating habits as I go along. What I'm eating now is close to what I'll be eating when I'm done if you up the volume and add some fat. Am I sticking to strict 2.0 protocol? No. I drink crystal light iced tea instead of water and I'm not counting the carbs in that. I also eat a lot of cauliflower in general. It has never given me an issue during a round, cabbage either.

I have to stress this again. This IS a lifestyle change. If you want to keep the weight off, it has to be. I KNOW I cannot go back to my previous way of eating, or I will go back to the weight I was before. Period. I used to think if I was just more active, I could do that. However, I never became active enough, and frankly, that was just an excuse to eat. I'm a middle-aged woman with a sluggish thyroid. Whether I like it or not, that is the truth. That I'm losing weight on ANYTHING is a miracle. Even Keto didn't work for me. If I eat carbs consistently, I'll be right back where I started very quickly.

    Hi Megan,

Sounds like you are having a great round. Your comments about lifestyle change of your WOE are spot-on.

I am curious: you said you avoid carbs, I inferred you meant because they caused you to gain; and why do you say keto didn't work for you?

I ask because I have been eating keto to control / reverse my T2D. At first, I lost weight with keto; but now it's just my maintenance WOE. I do track what I eat and limit quantities and calories, because I don't seem to have a good satiety signal.

I hit my end of year goal, to be below 190!

Carbs do cause me to gain, up to 3 lbs. a day. I was keto before I went back on hCG, trying to get my fasting blood sugars back down and it wasn't working. I have to factor in the fact (hindsight) that I was eating protein bars that only had 5 net carbs but actually had 22. All my keto attempts were based on NET carbs which I think now was a huge mistake. The other answer is, I just wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to take the actions I needed to to bring about the change I wanted. My blood sugar readings didn't drop and I wasn't losing any weight. It seemed like a lot of effort for treading water, and I was practicing the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

    Hi Megan,

Congrats on hitting your goal! That is hugely satisfying!

Keto works best for T2D reversal when done much like the hcg diet - emphasize whole, unprocessed foods. At first, you should count total carbs. Later on, you can test different carb foods and increasing carb quantities. Also, I may have mentioned this already: Make sure you get enough salt; don't eat protein to excess; and substitute breads/pastas/etc. are rarely worth eating, IMO.

    Happy New Year,

    Lynne
