Just my fyi: I have been on P2 for 29 days now and have used coconut oil only twice, different days. I had it with fish in the oven, only 1/2 tbsp and thankfully I did not gain anything, I actually lost over a pound the next day and I looked for 3 days after that and I still lost over 1lb. for those 3 days too. So, for me, I will use it occasionally. I know it's not recommended but hey, what can I say. LOL.

    Use at your own risk!

    Weight:
On Round 2, start date 6/9/12- start weight 324.6
    -----------------------------------------------
    Round 1, start 3/10/12, start weight 352.8, total loss for 31 days= 30.1 lbs.
    Wish me luck!

    RMDelete,

MCT Oil (such as Now Brand available at iherb.com) is made from coconut oil but it remains liquid in the fridge. You could try using it for all or part of the oil in your mayo recipe. I intend to make some mayo using MCT Oil and Macademia Nut Oil when I get to P3.

I am one of those who loses when I eat coconut oil on P2 but I always struggle with stablizing. I have used it to break a stall but then again, I might have had a visit from the Whoosh Fairy anyway after a 5 day stall without it.

LOL such a misleading name of the thread, about it being permitted during the injection phase, and then it is turns out to be a PSA on the merits of coconut oil.

Your slick marketing has lured in another, only to have me wander off muttering

p.s. No, it's not "allowed" on the protocol.

p.p.s. Sure you might lose with it. Some do, some don't, like any other deviation. Like any deviation you never have a way of testing it really, because you can say "ZOMFROGS I lost so much this day" and we're left wondering what you would have lost if you weren't sucking on a coconut.

What exact brand are you using?

    Hi
What exact coconut oil brand are you using?
I think it is important to know that not all coconut oil will help you lose weight. It has to be refined and mct medium chain triglycerides otherwise....extra virgin and unrefined you will gain weight. All products are not created equal. You could reverse the weight loss with the wrong product.
    What brand are you using?
    Refined or unrefined?
    Packaged in bottle or plastic?
    How high level of MCT?
    Some range from 40%_ 65%.
I am looking for highly refined organic expeller pressed MCT in glass jar. Highest range of MCT.
So if anyone says the are successful please give us the exact detais so we do it the right way too.
How many tablespoons a day for how long? We do not calculate the 500 calories?? What fats should no be present in a good quality coconut oil? Trans? Mono? Poly? What is the lowest level of the product we buy should be on the label?
Until I can get the correct oil I will not buy. I hope to get exact detailed feed back from everyone so I don't buy the wrong oil. Thank you very much!! In the mean time I am drinking apple cider organic vinegar like soda pop and I lost 10.5 lbs an it's my 6th day. GreAt fat burner great metabolize booster great health benefits and approved for the diet. It's very good for you. Put it on salads drink it with water and as soon as you get up in the morning and before bed at night. It's working. Read health benefits of apple cider organic vinegar. You will be blown away on how many things it helps with.
Are we allowed to drink mineral seltzer/sparkling water with stevia in it?
    Are seltzers approved?
What lip balm are you all using approved?
Soap and body wash I'm using nutrogena.
Hair dye! I have to get my hair colored before my business trip...how bad is this going to kill me???

Ps : I found a great web site I ordered salad dressings seasonings sauces and travel salads dressing too on hcg perfect portions all products made for hcg diet. I will let yo know when I get them I got BBQ southwest seasoning chilli sauce etc. keep you posted.
What MG of hcg is everyone using?
    And why brand?
    Thanks
Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride oil which your body treats completely COMPLETELY different from regular oils (like olive oil, peanut oil, canola etc)

in fact I don't want to get into much details but you can read an article about MCT oils here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium-chain_triglycerides

I did my first round of hCG with no oils at all whatsoever, it was hard but dooable..
When I found out about coconut oil I used it and NO AFFECTS whatsoever to my losses. I came here from another forum where most of the dieters there used coconut oil and ALL OF THEM were reporting losses.

Coconut oil calories DO NOT COUNT and I can repeat that DO NOT AFFECT OR COUNT AT ALL towards your daily limit of 500-800 cals (depending what protocol you are following)

I dare you to take some good quality coconut oil and eat a WHOTE TABLESPOON and tell me you gained weight the next day (but follow the protocol to the T aside from that part LOL ) I can promise you that your body will use it immediately.

I eat coconut oil every day... I have had a weight loss consistently right now of about 1lb x day (I am really fat right now too, it will slow down to .5 - .25 when I get closer to my goal) but seriously, what's with the fear of this very healthy oil???

WHY deprive yourself of such an awesome thing when the diet is already so hard as is? Try this! I fry my egg in it and have a fried egg every once in a while, I've made HCG friendly coconut oil MAYO before, I have friend my chilean seabass (skin on) in coconut oil, friend up some sea scallops and it is soooooo good

you guys are suffering way more than you should.

heheeh Mmm.... I am about to go look for some sea scallops because that sounds darned good right now...

c'mon guys and gals... stop suffering more than you should... join me in my MCT celebration and enjoy yourself some quality food and gain back some flavors..

btw fry up some shredded up turpip in coconut oil for some "hashbrowns" and you will DIE from how yummy they are ;-)

That is totally ridiculous to say the calories in coconut oil or MCT don't count. I tried a round with coconut oil and it was terrible. I lost nothing.

Some lose, some don't but it's NOT allowed on protocol. To say that something is "allowed" is to say that it was written in Pounds & Inches, which is not true about CO. I find that if I have CO one day, I can't have it the next without gaining. I tried cocoa crack once in P2 and lost a little but that doesn't mean it was from the CO.

Obviously, everyone should try it for themselves (in P3 and beyond) knowing that it might make you gain weight. Just because it's "refined, has MCT oil, etc." doesn't mean it'll help everyone lose weight if you're using it for that.

And the real issue isn't so much losing when on P2. The REAL issue is keeping it off.

People who are constantly making their own rules are the ones who are freaking out in P3, because they can't stabilize. Just because something doesn't seem to make you gain in P2, doesn't mean you are home free.

OK – I wanna chime in about using coconut oil on this protocol. I hope no one gets all pissed off about it, but here goes. I have not shared this before, but I think it is important I do so now.

I have talked to/or read on this Forum about women who have included a Tablespoon of CO in their coffee each day or cococrack at night during P2 and claimed that it helped them lose weight faster or that it helped them break a stall.

I find it highly unlikely that it was actually the CO that helped with the weight loss (or break the stall), since the original protocol calls for NO OIL of any kind whatsoever. Now . . . I’m not saying that it can’t be true . . . for some people . . . I mean, anything is possible, right? But oil of any kind is definitely a “no-no” on this eating protocol.

On my P2 in Spring 2012, I tried using the CO during a P2 round (I tried a small bite of cococrack each night). That was the one where I lost 12 pounds in 30 days (instead of the 20 & 22 pounds I lost on previous rounds). MORE importantly, I never stabilized in P3, and within 3 months, had gained back the entire 12 pounds, no matter how perfectly P3 I ate. I never could transition to P4 without overnight gains of 2 or 3 pounds, which would take me about a week to re-lose. Big understatement to say how frustrating that was!

Using CO might – emphasize might – help some people in some cases to lose more weight OR break a stall, but it also does damage to your recovery and stabilization once your P2 is over.

You'll have to decide for yourself if that is the right decision for you or not.

Just my .2cents. Thanks for letting me share what happened to me with P2 & coconut oil.
    Christy
It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.

    Hey.....
    where's the OP??

Seems like those who have done protocol strictly and stabilized are still around, while the others? lol. proof is in the puddin' people.

    Just sayin'

PS. Special thanks to the vets who have been there and are nice enough to share with us their experience.
