But he did specify. There is a very specific list and that is all that is allowed. It's totally fine if you want to experiment of course. It's your body. But please don't encourage other people to ruin a round by eating off protocol because that is what usually happens. I see it every day. It's a lot of money and time wasted when people start down that road. The lady who started the rogue saloon regained all her weight. Following protocol helps break food addictions because it is so boring. Boring is good when you're trying to lose weight and keep it off forever.

If I had a dollar for every wailing dieter who is crying because someone told her to eat coconut oil or some other crazy thing to break a stall and she gained two pounds instead, I'd be rich. LOL

You're new so perhaps you don't realize that we stress protocol on this forum. Some people of course choose to do something else but it's never with any encouragement from the moderators because we've seen too many problems long term.

Boring is bad when it turns people off of an otherwise helpful diet. I've been forced to get creative more than once so I can stay on HCG, and I do understand how important it is to emphasize the tried and true.

But it's very off-putting to see somebody disapproving of somebody else getting protein from a Jay Robb Shake or Boca crumbles or not wanting to eat baked chicken AGAIN. I'm not so new that I haven't seen some sanctimonious posts diving in on somebody who had a different food choice, dosing method, or whatever. Especially when they come back and say that they gained and didn't react well to whatever P2/3 experiment they tried. If somebody is happy with their choice and tells others about it, why not let them be happy?

As I said, you can of course do what you want, yallayalla. But we are a forum that encourages protocol.

Grammie, so glad you float around here on our blog, I absolutely trust everything you say cause everytime I do or DON'T do the things you suggest here, I lose...always. Too many times on this diet your wise words have rung true. So thanks for being our voice of reason. I almost caved on the coconut oil.

Saw this old thread and so glad coconut oil has been added to protocol in hcg 2.0 and nuts and cream in your coffee. Dr Zach says its not meant to be torture. If you are like me reading these old threads make sure you research the new and improved protocol; calories are calculated using your weight, 2 T coconut oil per day, no fruits or melba toast but veggies don't count toward your allowed protein calories.

But that protocol doesn't work for many. It doesn't for me. Only the original works for those of us with a broken metabolism, the kind of people the protocol was written for.

Everyone's body is different there were plenty of times even when I first tried HCG that I used the dreaded "no no" foods with no effect on weight loss. If you lose with "no no" foods go for it. If you don't then you know to stay away. Experiment at your own risk.

Im glad I found this site, always love seeing new information and different recipes. Im on R2P2D23 and use up to 2tbsp of MCT and CO everyday. I use cold-pressed unrefined CO and never have had issues stabilizing in P3. On this round my daughter decided to do the diet with me who has PCOS and wasn't seeing a tremendous amount of losses sticking to the original protocol. We just decided to do another week before going into P3 and are going to finish up using Dr. Zach's 2.0 version. So far Im happy with it, she was on a week stall with only 8lbs lost and an apple day didn't really help much.

I know this site is about original protocol which Ive always followed with a list of approved "freebies" from a FB group I joined and they are really strict about not posting anything not on protocol. I think we are going to continue with the 2.0 version, she's out of her stall and lost another 2lbs since Saturday.

Hi all! It's been years upon years upon years and I'm finally back on the bandwagon. Funny that I stumbled across this thread now almost 5 years later. Let me give you all a little more info about myself that I've learned since I posted this when I was young of mind.

Young me was right, mct oil works, however what DIDN'T work was my willpower to stick strictly to people and p4, I always blew it those times because my p3 or p4 would ALWAYS seem to start around some holiday or vacation where I was removed from a scale and choice to eat what I should have.

This time around I'm nearly 10 days into protocol having lost 14 lbs already. I randomly decided to Google mct oil & hCG and found this thread, how funny and ironic.... I saw how someone was like "where is OP?? Oh since OP isn't posting we have slain the dragon!! Hoorah we win!!!" Well, no actually I just had better things to do with my life at that time and frankly forgot completely about this website😂 only reason I'm posting now is because I felt I owed it to Future readers such as myself.

I promise you guys this time I'll follow protocol p3 & p4 but I'm going to continue my use of mct oil (coconut) what I've found done getting genetically tested is that my body is designed to be functional better with low fats anyway but mct is ok, also carbs aren't my friend so for my p3-p4 I'm going ketogenic as I know from experience I can manage that lifestyle just fine.

It's funny reading all these pages how people in the early protocol/internet years can be so outdated 😅 I might have been waaaaaaaay ahead of my times 😜 I'm older now... Fat again but I know I'm fat due to my own design flaws, however you can't "maintain" weights when you really never really had a proper chance to do it, this time around I decided to start my hCG round during the holiday season so I can ensure I get those pesky holiday meal days out of the way and about family pressuring me into eating their carb laden meals via guilt (unlike previous years when my p3 started around this time of year lol) I figure if I gain a little during the holiday it will eventually come off, it's much easier to follow protocol without a bunch of people who aren't dieting surrounding you and shoving their "signature dishes" in your face 😒.

Anyway thanks for the entertainment!!! I'll surely post you guys an update when I enter into p4, but at this point it might be 2-3 rounds of p2 I'm doing 😏

Glad it worked for you! However many of us who end up on hcg are there because we are metabolically broken. Other diets don't work at all and strict protocol is all that works for us. MCT oil stops our losing. I tried it myself several different times but I'm a metabolically broken person. Everyone is free to experiment of course. This site still recommends protocol though, both for losing and for making sure the hypothalamus is resting properly.

Honestly, you're coming from the experience of trying it yourself and having it work. We moderators are coming from the experience of seeing thousands and thousands of people move through this forum over the years. I wish it did work for everyone. I personally love MCT oil in coffee!
