    HCG Isolate

Howdy all, i hate making my first post in the boxing ring because i feel like i'm coming out swinging!

Anyway, here it is. I am on day 7 of following the HCG diet to include my 2 loading days in the beginning. I had great weight loss at the start and then stalled on day 6 and put on 4 lbs today. I'm not concerned with this to be honest, I am chocking it up to the scale being off tilt or insanely massive water retention since i was eating a lot of salt for 2 days. So i am very happy with the progress in the first week alone, and do not have hunger pains or any discomfort.

Here is my question/date topic: I am using hormone free HCG isolate drops bought over the counter at a local store. I have been following the HCG instructions even though the drops call out a slightly different approach (use 15 min before meal, higher dose, upto 3 times a day). I am wondering if anyone has experiance with the non real HCG, and if i should modify my behavior/diet or plan a different maintenance period after P2. I plan on ordering HCG online for next regimen if i decide to do a 2nd just so i clear up any gray areas and can rely stronger on the information that is out there. I have read several cases of the HCG diet without the hormone drops is essentially a starvation diet and extremely unhealthy, anyone know if that is any different with the amino acid drops? Thanks for all the help!

I'm sorry to have bad news for you, but hormone free HCG is a fake of the HCG protocol. "Hormone free" means they are proud to claim they contain no HCG whatsoever.

Unless the drops ingredient list starts with HCG and some dilution numbers (something like 3x 6x 12x 60x) or is real Rx HCG, you are just ingesting some amino acids, stimulants and possibly some appetite suppressant. You cannot expect the muscle sparing and metabolism resetting benefits of the HCG protocol without the actual HCG.

If you continue on them you will lose muscle mass and hurt your metabolism. My best advice is to stop now and get the real stuff.

so im essentially just on a starvation diet with the supplement making it tolerable. My main concern was since im not using hormone HCG that i wasnt losing stored fat, and essentially just burning through water weight and god knows what next. I will look into getting real HCG and stop the diet when i get some more research down. I know it isnt good like HCG diet but im my mind a 500 calorie diet cant immediately lose muscle or hurt metabolism can it? My drinking so much water throughout the day and not working out while on the diet i'm hoping it will minimize the damage of a low VLCD.

Just a little info, I'm 32, 5ft 6, and started the diet at my heaviest of 208 lbs, sitting at 200 now after my weight gain today. I have stayed at 200 for literally last 10 years with never dieting and not routinely exercising. The plan for HCG was to drop me to the 180s and then maintain after that, but i dont want to do that at the expense of my health on a fluff supplement. Thank you for your fast response Leez, I am going to research the ingredients in my drops more and wait for more input, but sounds like solid advice and exactly what i was fearing.

The problem with continuing on the hormone-free drops is that as you continue to lose, you will lose muscle along with the water weight, and your metabolism will slow down. Even with reduced eating in maintenance, that means you will quickly regain the weight and likely even more.

Its not that you'll get sick from continuing...its that you will be worse off metabolically and the struggle to not regain will become much harder than it was before you did this. You likely won't be able to stay at your 200 set weight as easily as you did before.
