Mothers hold incredible power, don't they? It's interesting the journey we take to reclaim our power if we've given it away.

OMG, this is so true. I have horrid memories of being 12-13 and having my mother drag me out of bed every single morning to put me on the scale. My entire worth as a human being would be judged by whether the number was higher or lower. It's a miracle that I can face the scale daily on this plan. It speaks to the enormous amount of self-healing I had to do in order to be ready for this.
Started my HCG journey on March 16, 2011

Just for the record, no part of this journey is for the weak.

No way you were -- you may have been a close third because me and my sister were tied for first --

ok...I'm NOT trying to play "top this" but..when I was seven years old, my uncle (my parents were divorced, I lived with my mother and my father was not in the picture) made me write...500 times..."I will lose weight".

    Didn't work.

Wow, Susan... How heartbreaking. For you, and for your uncle, to be so ignorant.

I used to feel that way, but it no longer serves any purpose to harbor hurt feelings. I just try to be more understanding with my kids. Maybe it was prep for dealing with their challenges.

There is value and learning in all experience if we can be open to it.

Sometimes it takes alot of really expensive therapy, and sometimes you just get over it and move on.

And I wear a size 4.75 ring, so maybe it did work after all.

Agreed, what's past is past and great you've moved so far past that. I learned a lot about how to be a loving & supportive Mom by NOT doing what my own Mom did. But she was unhappy and doing the best she could.

Exactly. And some day our kids will probably say the same about us (hopefully not on "the couch"!).
