No one can predict that. Some think they do. Others that tried it both ways say there is no real difference. It likely has a lot to do with your particular metabolism.
I was one that didn't notice a difference. Whether I ate one fruit, two, or none, my losses were about the same.
My opinion is that the protocol works as is for the vast majority. Unless you know for sure you are "fruit sensitive" in some way, why make it more difficult than it has to be?
One thing I did notice is that on days I omitted fruit, I did not feel well. It may be that my blood sugars got too low without it.
