I'm gonna try it with asparagus. Yummmmm.
Chicken, asparagus and Ginger soup. I made Chicken and asparagus soup with Ginger from an hcg book yesterday. I already grilled the asparagus so I just threw in 2 Tsp of Ginger into my homemade chicken broth, some seasonings based on what I was in the mood for and then chicken that I had cooked to make the broth with. It was oddly satisfying. I am finding that the soups help me get my water intake in and visually, I feel like I am eating a lot! BEEF TACO SALAD My other favorite recipe is throwing 2 cups of romaine in a bowl. My grilled ground beef, mashed up with Tabasco, chili powder and garlic salt. Add to romaine. Top off with vinaigrette dressing (1/4 vinegar, 1/2 cup water, 3 stevia packets, 20 drops clear stevia, celery salt and onion powder).
Technically a P3 recipe because of cauliflower. Sounds great!
I have seen different things about cauliflower. Some sites say it's P2 and other say P3. I guess when in doubt, check Pounds and Inches. Sounds yummy though!
Misti-I've made something similar with cabbage and it was yummy. But I've never pureed it...will have to try it. Here's an Excerpt from Simeon's origninal "Pounds and Inches" verbatim 1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed raw from the bird. 2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. 3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast. 4. An apple or an orange or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit. Every item in the list is gone over carefully, continually stressing the point that no variations other than those listed may be introduced. All things not listed are forbidden, and the patient is assured that nothing permissible has been left out. Clothershorse-ooooh asparagus and ginger sound like a great combo. On 1st round I used fresh ginger quite a bit with orange and seafood combos and found it very satisfying. I'm with you on the soups too. This time I made the HCG chicken broth ahead of time and pressure canned it so it's ready to go when I am. Soup is such comfort food and simmering helps mingle all the herbs and spices. The Beef Taco salad is one of my favorites too! The only difference is I use fresh lemon juice for dressing, not a big fan of stevia. It's funny how much the flavor comes through on this plan. Love all the recipe ideas. Hope you all post some pics with recipes to the photo album. ttfn
How funny, I made a version of this today. I had made some chicken broth, so I had it handy. I had grilled chicken (with a boat load of spices on it). I also had some leftover roasted cauliflower. So, I threw the cauliflower and chicken broth in my vita mix and blended it until it was smooth. The cauliflower thickens the broth a bit. I added the diced chicken and a la, protein and vegetable in a satisfying soup. I can see where this could be made in batches and frozen for those days you just don't want to cook. I thought it was delicious
