Thanks for taking the time to write! Obviously you are incorporating non-protocol ideas, but it works for you, that's the important part. More important that we follow a plan than not, imho. My diet is incredibly boring (yes, I literally eat just the 3 egg whites+egg for lunch and the cott cheese for dinner as Dr. S. talks about in Pounds and Inches) but its almost like a 6 week break from thinking about food. Everything else you name: shakes (spirituein in my case), naked chik from quorn, and greek yogurt (either 0% or 2%) I eat in P3.
Best of luck! It was the encouragement of this board that encouraged me that this diet could be done as a vegetarian. (Which I have to--its not really an option for me to go back to meat-eating for kidney stone prevention. Ecology and animal rights are benefits too.)

Its good. Getting tired of the same things to eat, but I think I can survive another week and a half of VLCD.

I'm yoyo-ing a bit, though not so hungry, staying with no starch no sugar, but my weight is really fluctuating. Of course I didn't start P3 quite as I had planned (gradually, one thing at a time), a little early with a big cheese omelet (was out with a friend who wanted to go get something to eat, sigh...). Went to a party where I only ate the pork rid and sour cream dip I brought, and my low-carb beer (yuck but hey its still beer, lol). So I'm at 154 today, gonna try a FFF day, see if I can't get my butt back down to that 151.5 I was at my lowest P2 weight......

Finally I'm back where I was, though I'd probably be much lower otherwise........well, 8 more days, or thereabouts, before P3, I was considering maybe extending, but this is becoming kind of exhausting, though hopefully it gets easier in later rounds, since we'll know what to expect.......

Hi! Sorry - I didn't realize I'd had messages! This weekend was a zoo... I'll message you my cell. I can meet up tomorrow if you want, but I'm heading to bed now, so text me and let me know if that works for you. I'll plan to bring the supplies with me if you can meet.

Here's the spaghetti recipe...I used the food processor, but you could put the tomatoes in a blender too. If it needs sweeting, add a tiny bit of stevia until it's not bitter.

    Spaghetti Sauce P2 friendly
    2-3 ripe tomatoes
    2 cloves garlic
    2 slices onion chopped
Basil, oregano, onion pwdr, garlic pwdr, Italian seasoning, bay leaf
    Super lean ground beef
    2 TBL tomato paste

Puree tomatoes in food processor or blender
Brown ground beef with onions and garlic.
Add tomatoes, spices, and tomato paste
    Simmer until thickened

Pour over miracle noodles. Try them once, and if they don’t make you stall Hooray! Some can use them, and some can’t.
For chili, leave out Italian seasoning and add chili powder and chipotle powder if you like it spicy.

Frustrated... can anyone offer any input of their own personal experience?

by jewlz on June 17th, 2012 at 09:38 AM
I am frustrated. This whole week has been a bust. It's been so long since I have been into the diet this far. I keep trying to recall and remind myself that around the 20-30 day it is very slow, so our bodies can catch up with the initial water gain, right?

It's day 27 and I have lost 22 pounds. I know these are incredible results for any standard, but for this entire week. I have lost a pound and it's very frustrating to get up everyday, eat the same stuff, not drink, not go out

Really starting to change

by jewlz on June 14th, 2012 at 01:17 PM
Hi all,

I have been on and off this diet for years. I do beautifully in p2 and mess it up in P3 due to sugar addiction, lack of variety since I am mostly a vegetarian etc. This round I really want to do this right. My partner (who is 12 pounds from reaching her goal weight of 150 is with me again on this journey) She started this endeavor at 218 and has had much more success. My acpuncturist told me that since I have had more fat cells in my life (I have always had a weight issue)

Truths/Mantras that I want to remember

by jewlz on September 17th, 2010 at 11:47 AM
Everyday that is completed I am closer to my goal weight and closer to being the healthiest I have ever been.

Everyday is an accomplishment and I am changing my eating habits forever.

Everyday I tap into my strength and gain control over food.

Food monotony breaks addiction and emotional eating.

If I don't have a food crutch- I will deal with my emotions and stress in a healthy way.

As Mspanda says... Doing this diet is
