About Kar
- Biography:
- I've completed 16 rounds of the HCG protocol. I've only ever "needed" to do 1 round, but I tend to get hungry in P4 and consume too many calories, despite healthy eating.
Having been through it so many times, I know the diet works and I trust it! I understand enough about what's happening throughout the phases that I don't get discouraged. I don't let the scale play mind games with me. :) As long as I follow the protocol, I know the losses will come. The way my clothes fit is more meaningful than any number on a scale.
Though that ship has since sailed, I didn't alter my behavior during TOM. I skip the melba toast. I have occasionally considered Pinot Noir a fruit. (Oops)
I love this forum and the support everyone gives each other. There are really great people here! :)
Below are details regarding my rounds and experiences on the hcg diet:
I started in September 2011 with sublingual drops. My first few rounds followed the original Simeons protocol. During my 5th round I switched to the hCG 2.0 protocol.
For my 9th round, I followed hCG 3.0 (keto) protocol. Other than all of the advanced planning and calculations needed, it was very easy to follow because of the food selection and no one around me realized I was doing hCG. Unfortunately, I experienced decreased circulation from going too low carb. I went back to 2.0 for a couple of rounds, then back to 3.0 for round 12, carefully monitoring to get enough carbs. For round 13, I tried my own "blended" 2.0/3.0 strategy, which was mostly 2.0.
After that, I abandoned 3.0 in favor of 2.0 or OP for better weight loss.
For those interested, I have reached the following conclusions based on my personal data and experience:
- Better success with Rx HCG than homeopathic
- Better success when following protocol related to sufficient time between rounds
- Following OP yielded the best/fastest losses, but 2.0 wasn't far behind when I left sufficient time between rounds
- Correct dose is important to stabilize. I was miserable with hunger issues in P2 and failure to stabilize in P3 when I used Rx pellets, which I attribute to the inability to properly adjust dose.

BEST P3 ever! Never even close to a steak day. Stayed within 0.2 lbs of 125 most days. What I did differently: avoided eating after 6:30 pm & took Solgar lipotropic factors (caplet form).
P3 end: 125.2
