Hey Liffa. Was thinking of you today and wondered if you ever wander over here these days. It's been a while for me. I've been living life post-divorce and the lbs have started creeping back on, so I'm back to get them off. I ordered my drops today and am hoping to start up after Memorial Day weekend. Hope you and hubby are doing well, feeling great, and living life to the fullest. Take care!

Yes I do believe you can switch over. Let me get back with you.
  3. Hey, I was just watching the news about the Texas weather and thought about you! ha ha. We've had horrible weather all year. Actually I'm in the same climate zone as in the mountains of NC, so luckily I'm not in northern Ohio, so we would have been hit by that crazy blizzard going through the midwest. But we were clipped by a little squall that put down a quick inch and the rush hour traffic turned it into a skating rink on the roads. It was the most treacherous travel day of the entire winter, and I couldn't get home in my little truck: to wait on my husband to get off work and ride home with him in our SUV. Unreal! I have never been so sick of winter! I bet you guys are just freaking out down there, and I see that the Super Bowl might have snow???? Unreal!!

Hi - Just checking to see how you are. We are iced in here in Fort Worth, with snow expected tonight and tomorrow. It's more like being in North Carolina, as this is very unusual for here! Did ya'll get any of this winter storm where you are? Hope you're not without power if you did. It's been a little while, so I wanted to say "hi". Will talk to you again soon. Shelia

LOL - Loved your conference story. Bless your heart, I was feeling your pain as that bus pulled away with your lunch still in your car! You did a lot better than I did, though...at least you didn't eat the horrible, very bad sub roll I ate. Your story made me particularly homesick for good pickles. My mother used to make the most amazing bread & butter pickles, among others, but bread & butter are my favorites. I also loved your story about the dinner; your menu sounds really good, and you did so well entertaining without that man ever knowing the difference. I'm still making sweet tea for hubby; that's hard for me to resist but so far, I've done it. Hope you have a good weekend!
  6. Have you read the recent posts on Anyone starting Jan 1 thread! You can read there where I share my own conference story!!! Ha ha...did the same thing and ate the dang cookie. I think we were at a conference on the same day!

I loaded on the last two days of December and started the VLCD on January 1st. I have to be honest, I did cheat a week ago Thursday. A bunch of us from work had to go to an all-day conference, and I planned on doing whatever it took not to cheat. Of course, breakfast was "continental" with sweet rolls, but they did have fresh fruit...I only had four strawberries and three blackberries. I was feeling pretty good when lunchtime came and it was deli sandwiches & cookies. I was going to pull the turkey and veggies off the sandwich, when I saw that one slice of turkey, one slice of tomato, and little piece of lettuce, I caved. Ate the whole sandwich. And the cookie. It took me the whole week to recover from that cheat and start losing again. I stalled big time! So I feel like I've wasted week three, and at this point, am pretty happy to do another long round. I bet your son will do really well; seems like men can lost their weight soooo easily compared to us.

The diet really is amazing. My doctor wanted me to do a longer round as well; I did 2 loading days, 42 VLCD days, and three days at the end on the VLCD/no hcg. That's 47 days total. It got a little tiresome toward the end - I got tired of lettuce, LOL. You'll do fine; I'm sure it helps to be doing it with your husband. I didn't find the longer round a problem, just a bit boring the last week. Y'all seem to be doing really well as far as experimenting with your cooking; I got lazy and was just eating plain chicken and a LOT of lettuce, so it was my fault I was bored. I think it's going to take me three or maybe even four rounds if I get down to where I want to be, but I've decided it's worth it to not just gain it all back like I've done on every other diet I've ever been on. I can see this resulting in a lifestyle change, can't you?

    Hi -
I'm so glad you're doing better. It would have been horrible to go through the whole diet with hypoglycemia. Wow - you and your husband are doing really great - way to go! In the time I've been back on the diet, I've lost 18 pounds; it's going more slowly this time. But, I expected that. My goal is to get below 200 by the end of the month...7 pounds to go. I have a feeling my doctor is going to want me to do a 42-day round again; not sure I'm up to it this time. Do you find that this round is more difficult for you?

Hope your problems with hypoglycemia are better. I went years as a hypoglycemic before being diagnosed as a diabetic. I swear, diabetes is easier in some ways than dealing with the former. I absolutely hated those hard, sudden sugar drops that left me weak, nauseous, and shaky. I do hope yours weren't too drastic.
How's the weight loss going for you? I'm losing much more slowly on round two, but am losing. LOL, as long as it's not gaining, right?
Hope you have a great weekend...talk to you again soon. Shelia
