    From what I've found/read its best to stick to Simmons protocol and not fudge around too much. Theres a lot of threads about things people get creative with and Ive found that every time I try some different zero calorie thing I stall. Ive given up gum and zevia sodas, xylitol and miracle noodles at this point! Just eating whats on the original list!

    Hey-- sorry for the lag. No, I am doing Simmons protocol. Kevin Trudeau endorses Simmons original protocol but he has added the touch of calling the varioustages of the diet phases and as well advises to do a cleanse before starting. His book has great info about the state of the modern american diet and why it makes us fat. He sets out a structured plan on how to avoid the crap in the food supply, and he has a very unique perspective on the whole thing. Its worth pursuing. Hope things are going well!

    No, I wont replace lunch or dinner with a celery smoothie. I've come across threads on this forum where people say they dont really end up loosing more by dieting on the HCG diet protocal I think it has to do with 're-setting' the body to take the fat from the right places, and not go into starvation mode where the body would be eating muscles and structural fat first (really unhealthy-- why models etc die from heart attacks..) So the protocol is set so that you are getting just enough and the body is able to be triggered into taking the rest it needs from the stored fat areas. I dont know if you've done much research on the diet, but Kevin Trudeau's book is really great... helpful also for tips as you move into stage 3 and 4. People seem to skim on one of the fruit servings (i do), the milk teaspoon and the melbas but other than that id stick to protocol.

    Try drinking more water! I had bad headaches the first two days.. water helped. There is a couple of supplements that I started taking which also helped the headaches go away. One is called Curicumin with Bioprene (from a company called life extension) it helps to reduce inflamation and swelling , which I think were contributing to my headache... the other that helps is an enzyme called 'serrapeptase' and the brand for that one is enerex. I get mine from a health food store in canada and assume you can find it under another brand over the internet... if the enerex one isnt available down here... I think they both really help with the headaches! They both reduce swelling in the body and my headaches felt like they were caused from some kind of pressure! good luck! is this your first round? I would blend celery in a blender with lemon, garlic, cilantro and some salt for the first few days and it was a good way to take away hunger with very little calories...
